Dr. Film has served the Boonsboro and surrounding areas for over 20 years. He opened Myersville Dental in 1995 and has drawn loyal patients from Middletown Valley, Boonsboro, Keedysville, and as far as West Virginia. Patients trust his open personality, his quality dental work and his concern for their comfort. His goal is for all his patients to have healthy, attractive smiles. Born, raised and educated in Maryland, he continues to advance his skills and broaden the services his office provides. Dr. Film has taken numerous advanced continuing education courses in sedation, laser dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, implant restorations, and advanced denture techniques, including implant-supported dentures.
Dr. Film loves Western Maryland and its wealth of outdoor activities. Mountain biking, skiing, hiking, and rock climbing are his favorites. Dr. Film is also active in his church and the local gun club. His wife, Teresa and two children feel blessed by the wonderful people and beautiful landscape of this area.
Susan has managed South Mountain Dental since 2004, handling everything from scheduling patients to coordinating insurance benefits to answering questions from our patients. She believes that our patients needs comes first and looks forward to seeing them every day!
Teresa enjoys mountain biking and hiking. She especially enjoys bike touring around the older majestic houses of Hagerstown and the C&O canal. Her favorite summer adventure is tubing Antietam Creek and stopping at Potomac Creamery for ice cream afterwards.
Teresa can be seen at the front desk greeting patients. She also takes care of the behind the scenes business like paying bills, marketing and keeping up with all the legalities of running a business. Teresa is very excited to open in Boonsboro in a new accessible office and meeting new people.
Danielle has been a part of South Mountain Dental for her entire life, first as a patient and then by becoming Dr. Films assistant in 2005. Her EFTA (expanded functions) designation allows Dani to perform functions that other dental assistants may not.
Shawn graduated from Hagerstown Community Colleges Dental Hygiene program, where she received the Dental Hygiene Leadership Award. She was a member of Phi Theta Kappa and remained on the Deans List throughout her 3 years at HCC. She is currently working towards her Bachelors Degree in Dental Hygiene.
Prior to receiving her hygiene degree, she worked as a dental assistant for 7 years. Shawns goals are to educate each patient on the importance of excellent oral hygiene and to ensure that every visit is comfortable and stress free.

I've been going here for at least 15 years. Through all my dental work I've never had any pain and always great customer service. Going there is like visiting family since they get to know you so well. Would highly recommend seeing Dr. Film for any dental needs.

When I first started going to South Mountain Dental my teeth was extremely in highly bad shape but was not turned away nor was Judge on the shape my teeth were in.Dr.Flim and his staff was extremely helpful and professional answering all questions and explaining everything that was going to be done. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM AND HIS STAFF AND RECOMMEND THIS STAFF IF YOU ARE SEARCHING FOR A DENTIST THAT WILL MAKE YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE AS WELL AS ADDRESSING YOUR CONCERNS.

I took my son to South Mountain Dental for my son's kindergarten registration form. They drew up the paper work for me with no problem. My son loved everyone. The office lady was kind. The lady who brushed his teeth made him feel so special. The dentist was also kind to him. They gave him a choice in tooth paste flavor for his cleansing. He received a goody bag and got to go to the treasure chest. I honestly can't say enough about this dentist office. I do know that they are GREAT with kids. They are reasonably priced. I will be bringing all of my kids here from now on.

Dr Film and team are the best. Dr Film is thorough, explains procedures and performs procedure with zero pain. After years of neglecting my teeth Dr Film created a plan to fix everything and did so without causing me pain and never made me feel bad for letting my dental care go. I highly recommend. Dr Film is a comprehensive dentist and does nearly everything. If you are looking for a new dentist give him a chance. His hygienists are also very kind and gentle. Love this practice!

I called to schedule a same day visit and was not turned away. The lady I spoke with on the phone was so kind to me and also assisted the doctor when it was time for my appointment. I went into the dental office thinking they might be mad because it was only to look at my bitten cheek. Dr.Kenneth had a very cool camera to show me and explain in detail why I might be biting into my cheek. The assistant and doctor were so nice. I would highly recommend this office. Thank you all so much for letting me on the schedule for the same day.

Dr. Film and his whole crew are fantastic. Our family has been going to them for over 25 years with no complaints. While some of their services seem expensive, you get what you pay for, and with South Mountain Dental you get the best.

I have been going to South Mountain Dental for about 4 years and am very happy with the quality of the work they do. Staff are friendly and professional, and prices are reasonable. I have had cleanings, whitening and a filling and all were first class and painless. Highly recommended!

They are nice most of the time, and I do like the method they use to clean teeth, but they tell you that you need all kinds of work you don't need. Very expensive. They are rip-off artists. They said I need $4000 worth of work done. I got 2 second opinions...I didn't need any of it.

I couldn't believe how comfortable I felt in the chair the minute I sat down! Dr. Film and his assistant for my appointment, Danielle, were upbeat, friendly and professional. I have some mobility issues but they helped me in and out of my scooter without a fuss. I'm actually looking forward to returning for the next phase of my treatment.

I was a patient there temporarily.. at first they were very good and treated me great.. seeing me during the pandemic for not one emergency extraction but had to go back for a second. They were great. Well now not true.. I've been trying to get in for an extraction that keeps developing an abscess which is dangerous and they won't give me the time of day!! I've been trying for over 6 months to get in!! Not I get an email saying I owe money which I don't and apparently that's why they keep blowing me off. I will add I have never received a bill in the year since I was there last so no I don't owe a cent as I paid my bill in the office at time of service!! They did send me a bill for close to $1000 for work they never did to me and when I called about it I was told it was a mistake that will be taken care of that my bill was paid. The office personal is the most rude person I have ever come across!! I will look for someone else that treats their patients kindly and respectful. So heed my warning stay clear of them if you don't want to be treated like dirt!!

I have a good experience with South Mountain Dental. Dr. Film was very kind, informative and helpful when I asked questions. The Hygienist (don't remember her name) was a little rough but I am a big chicken so not her fault. I am new to Hagerstown and found them from a flier they sent out. I have only been there twice and just for cleaning but I am happy with them.

I am 68 years old and had not been to a dentist in many years. Two molars had worn out metal fillings and Dr. Film repaired each in separate visits. They chew better than before and I had no pain after each visit. I also needed restoration of the wear on my 4 top front teeth. He said that other dentists might have tried to sell me on 4 crowns but he restored them to new condition with resin. I am extremely pleased with the quality of his work and the fair price for his services. I will be going back for an annual cleaning and examination. I highly recommend his dental services.

Best office and staff, they make you feel very comfortable. I have a fear on dentist in general, I will not go to a different place besides South Mountain Dental. Everything is explained in full detail. Staff is personable and friendly. I would recommend anyone without hesitation.

Very professional, clean, friendly practice. Thorough in their cleanings and exams. They have up to date equipment and techniques to help maintain good oral health as well as address any types of issues that come up. My husband had some dentures that he needed repaired and the new ones are so perfect no adhesive is needed and most people can not tell that they are dentures. Highly reccommend.
