Childrens mouths are different than adults, and we are dedicated to the oral health of our patients from infancy through adolescence. Our entire office is geared towards making the experience fun and comfortable for kids, from the lobby to the treatment rooms.
Our mission is to help your children live healthy, happy lives. Our dentists are parents too, and treat all of our patients with the same care and compassion they would their own kids. We do everything we can to ensure your childs trip to the dentist is a positive experience.
Were often asked what we like best about being a kids dentist. Theres a lot to love: seeing their pride as we celebrate a cavity free checkup, being the honored recipient of a story or funny joke, and seeing the youngest ones light up with joy when Santa comes to the office or we dress up for Halloween.
But theres one thing that motivates us above it all, and thats watching the kids in our care grow up from babies, to curious toddlers, to smart children, and capable teens. At every checkup, theyve grown up a little more and all of a sudden, theyre young adults.
As an athlete and student, weve watched him succeed on and off the field. While he excelled on the football field, he also graduated 5th in his class out of over 350 graduates at Gulfport High. He graduated in the Gulfport High School Hall of Fame and went on to accept a full academic and athletic scholarship from The University of Southern Mississippi.
Hes now a linebacker for the USM Eagles and studies Exercise Science with a Minor in Chemistry. Hes a senior this year with plans to go on to Med School. TQ knows his excellent physical health, including his dental health, has contributed to his success in both academics and sports.
TQ wants to remind our young athletes how important it is to wear mouth guards while playing sports and keep up with dental checkups every 6 months. Were honored to have been able to spend some time catching up with TQ Newsome, and we hope to keep in touch with you and your children over the years as well.

First time and my daughter loved it. Employees are pleasant and it wasn't crowded, plenty of seats. Some entertainment for the children. Our new dentist

First time taking my almost 2 year old. He LOVED IT. the atmosphere was 100% kid friendly, the back is where all the MAGIC is, they have everything to make your child feel comfortable as possible. Coloring books, crayons, jungle gyms ( yes jungle gyms ), a backdrop to take pictures, TVs above your head on the ceiling looking down at you when getting your teeth cleaned so the kiddos can watch tv more than be focused on what's going on. I mean they have this place specifically for kids if you ask me lol. It almost made me want to sign up and start going myself. 100% recommend, every part of the staff is amazing and they are all so very nice ! If your taking your child elsewhere that's more adult friendly, I would definitely look into South MS Smiles for sure ! Give the kids a BETTER more their age experience when visiting dentist and any other doctors for that matter !

Our visit was a last minute visit due to molar pain and they got my baby right in! I wish I remembered how to spell her name but "deseria" had my daughter up and playing and so happy before the dentist got to her. Loved it.

I want to applaud the young lady that helped my 5 yr old. You can tell that she was still in the rookie stage but she is AWESOME. I loved how she treated my son like a big boy when she did his X-rays so he acted like a big boy. And believe it or not...he didn't cry & he didn't give her a hard time. Sorry didn't get her name. But I do want to encourage her to continue with what she is doing. Also I would like to applaud the other lady who came over & assisted her gracefully with her question(s) that helped her get started. God Bless

I give the Dentist that did my daughter's emergency dental work 5 stars for her work.She was Awesome n she didn't didn't drill away all her tooth.I highly recommend her n for Now on I want her for my kids dental procedures!

Very nice place my son's and grandkids love it My 2 son's have been coming here for years and now my 3grandkids are here.I would definitely recommend this place They are very good,nice& friendly people doing an amazing job They are also,so wonderful with all my kids&grandkids. Clean office and always very nice&caring.The kid's love to get balloons and something from the treasure box.

Everything about our visit was great: the staff, safety precautions, inviting, clean, and fun area for children. Both our dental hygienist as well as Dr. Larson were extremely patient and gentle with our little one. He explained everything in detail and answered our questions unhurried Excellent care and service!
