Childrens mouths are different than adults, and we are dedicated to the oral health of our patients from infancy through adolescence. Our entire office is geared towards making the experience fun and comfortable for kids, from the lobby to the treatment rooms.
Our mission is to help your children live healthy, happy lives. Our dentists are parents too, and treat all of our patients with the same care and compassion they would their own kids. We do everything we can to ensure your childs trip to the dentist is a positive experience.
Were often asked what we like best about being a kids dentist. Theres a lot to love: seeing their pride as we celebrate a cavity free checkup, being the honored recipient of a story or funny joke, and seeing the youngest ones light up with joy when Santa comes to the office or we dress up for Halloween.
But theres one thing that motivates us above it all, and thats watching the kids in our care grow up from babies, to curious toddlers, to smart children, and capable teens. At every checkup, theyve grown up a little more and all of a sudden, theyre young adults.
As an athlete and student, weve watched him succeed on and off the field. While he excelled on the football field, he also graduated 5th in his class out of over 350 graduates at Gulfport High. He graduated in the Gulfport High School Hall of Fame and went on to accept a full academic and athletic scholarship from The University of Southern Mississippi.
Hes now a linebacker for the USM Eagles and studies Exercise Science with a Minor in Chemistry. Hes a senior this year with plans to go on to Med School. TQ knows his excellent physical health, including his dental health, has contributed to his success in both academics and sports.
TQ wants to remind our young athletes how important it is to wear mouth guards while playing sports and keep up with dental checkups every 6 months. Were honored to have been able to spend some time catching up with TQ Newsome, and we hope to keep in touch with you and your children over the years as well.

The service was great, being a foster parent; I bring my bio and foster children there to be serviced majority of the time. However today was a different experience for me. I apologized in advance for not being fully prepared for a new patient. However everything went smooth but I walked back in on to the two ladies in the front "gossiping'about how many children I have and etc . I didn't expect that from South MS Smiles. We do not plan on coming back for this reason. we will find another provider. That was very unprofessional of Ms. Cunningham and the office manager or whomever she was. I suggest they find something better to do if they have too much time on their hands.

Why they not answering the phone I been calling for 2 days now I even left a voice message still no luck no answer or no call back what's going on they need better workers who will answer the phone

The whole experience is great and not scary for my child at all. The dentists and dental assistants are all very patient with children and work with them when they are ready and comfortable. It's always super easy to get an appointment set up or rescheduled if it is needed. I love the South Mississippi Smiles staff!

My son is autistic they did a great job to keep him calm, he had no fear or anxiety. For the first time he was able to have his complete dental cleaning, they are very good and kind to children I recommend them 100% thanks Ashley and everyone who works there

My granddaughter's visit was yesterday and she said, "GeGe I went to the dentist and I was a big girl". She's 4 yrs old & for her to tell me she was a big girl means she wasn't scared. She was in good hands thank you all so much. From a Loving Grandma

The staff is always friendly and informative. The dentist explains all procedures beforehand. The wait time is minimal. I'm very happy with the service.

The staff is wonderful. Very helpful. My complaint is with the area out front. It is far too small and where are the fun things for kids to do. No video games nor activities. Fix this, make the kids your focal point. They need to want to come to the dentist.

Dental techs were very friendly and made you feel comfortable. Techs not afraid to ask each other for help to ensure the patient gets proper care and treatment. Dr was very thorough and caring. Answered all my questions. Overall, completely satisfied.

This place was amazing The staff was friendly!!!my granddaughter really don't like the dentist office but loved this place Wanted to go back today I said we gotta wait for a appointment!!!They gave the kids balloons stickers Colors and toothbrush lol The Dr was amazing Gentle and discussed options The place was clean The ladies in the front was so friendly Love this place highly recommend it

Their very friendly and helpful front desk team let's you know from the beginning that it's going to be a great experience. Relaxed atmosphere and the ability to handle complete families of children at the same time was awe inspiring. Great experience. My son can't wait to go back
