Sherry Dental Hygienist Sherry began working as a certified dental assistant in 1976. She began practicing dental hygiene in 1980 and completed her BS in Dental Hygiene in 2002. She joined our team in 2000.
Irene Dental Assistant Irene began her dental career in 1980. She has worked in family dental and pediatric dental practices. Irene was part of our team in the early years of our practice. We were excited to welcome her back to our team in 2009.
Sara Insurance / Financial / New Patient Coordinator Sara was born in New Orleans and a graduate of Loyola University-New Orleans. She is bilingual in English & Spanish and she has worked in dental office administration for 13 years. Sara joined our team in July 2020.
Melanie Office Manager Melanie has worked in medical transcription for most of her career. She shifted to the dental field in 2016, and quickly learned how to make a dental office run smoothly. Melanie joined our team in 2017.
Dr. Black and his wife are very active members of The OrchardUnited Methodist Church. He has also served in an assortment of capacities for the local Boy Scouts of America troop, including being a Scoutmaster. In 1998, Dr. Black completed the adult BSA leadership course Woodbadge. He enjoys several outdoor activities including hiking, backpacking, bicycling, and canoeing.

Very Friendly, welcoming and professional staff. Dr. Black took time and explained in great detail my treatment plan and was very thorough in his explanation as well as kind and professional.

I needed an emergency tooth extraction and called South Main Dental hoping for an appointment soon. Not only did I get a consultation the same day but I also got an appointment for the next day for the extraction. Everyone was so nice and I appreciated so much the the quick attention and the kindness!

We did a family visit they were great in scheduling us all together. They were patient with my 5 year old and he did so good with it being his first to any dentist. And I know it was because they made him feel comfortable. They weren't super rough like I have experienced in the past. They were quick and efficient! They gave us a breakdown of follow up visits and what it was going to cost us. No surprises I like that. Very friendly staff. We have found our home for dentistry!
