Dr. Patel is a Moorestown native, beginning as a Baker Bear and graduating from Moorestown High School. He completed his undergraduate studies at Haverford College and then completed his doctorate at the University of Maryland Baltimore College Of Dental Surgery. After graduating with honors, he furthered his training at the University of Maryland Medical Center with an internship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Since the completion of his formal dental training, Dr. Patel has spent the past decade practicing in and around the Philadelphia region. His passion for dentistry is evident through participation in continuing education seminars, study clubs, and volunteer activities. Dr Patel is a mentor to dental assistant trainees, undergraduate students, dental students/residents and new dentists. He enjoys imparting pearls of wisdom to colleagues from all over the world.

They are getting money hungry and don't have the staff to keep up. I've been coming here for years and would get 2 check ups every year which is what my insurance allows. Since COVID, they have continued to take new customers, not increase their staff, and now people can only been seen once every 8-9 months. Rather than take new clients, take care of your old clients and add new ones as people leave. Customer service just isn't the same there as it used to be.

Do not go here. There's is no sense of communication or professionalism at this office. I thought I was getting a routine cavity filled. I have now been in pain for 5 months when I had no pain prior. The office LEFT ME A MESSAGE saying I have to go to an endodontist and there's nothing more they can do. I called to speak with Dr. Patel and got a fed a bunch of lies. He told me the cavity was intense and that I was made aware I may need a root canal. Neither of these things were communicated to me.

I have been going to South Jersey Smiles for many years and could not be happier. My children and husband are also patients. Dr. Patel and his staff are amazing!! The office staff are very courteous and helpful. The dental hygienist are friendly and thorough with cleanings. The music is always upbeat and fun. Dr. Patel's office is extremely clean. He has taken the proper precautions to protect his patients and staff during covid. Dr. Patel is friendly and extremely knowledgeable. He truly cares about his patients. I highly recommend Dr. Patel and South Jersey Smiles.

As someone who is terrified of the dentist, I couldn't recommend Dr. Patel and his staff enough. From check in to check out, the experience was a pleasure. They were thorough, gentle, and made me aware of everything they were doing before they did it. Dr. Patel even went out of his way to help me choose an affordable bite guard. Would absolutely recommend!!

Dr. Patel was a very sweet and gentle dentist. He made me feel calm when I was terrified. I would definitely highly recommend South Jersey Smiles to everyone. The staff were equally impressive.

Very friendly environment. I came in for an emergency visit and I was squeezed in to be seen. Dr Patel is such a great doctor. He cares about my needs and what is necessary. His staff is so nice and helped me through everything. I recommend everyone to go see them!

Terrible & costly experience. In June 2014 I saw Dr Patel due to an old filling breaking a tooth. I expected to get a crown. Dr Patel, brand new owner of this practice, told me I needed a root canal, plus crown. Since there was no infection, there did not seem a need for a root canal. I never had one before, yet had several other crowns for the same reason. Over the following weeks, Dr Patel did the root canal & crown. The crown never felt right; the tooth was always sensitive, from the start & that continued for years. Losing trust & confidence I moved to another dentist. This past week, I developed an abscess immediately below that root canal tooth & crown. I am seeing a specialist now to do retreatment, that is redo root canal & fix crown -- only 4years since Dr Patel's treatment. I was told a root canal should last a life time & there was absolutely nothing I did that caused this problem. An abscess is a serious health issue that can have serious consequences; I was fortunate enough to find early. Of course I am paying again about $2000 for something that should have lasted "a lifetime." Please be advised.

I was referred to Dr. Patel's office by a friend and was very pleased with his integrity and professionalism. My previous dentist had overlooked a few serious issues which Dr. Patel caught and set up a reasonable time line to rectify. He didn't push me into any procedures, simply stated the facts and allowed me to make the decision. His staff is friendly and helpful. I would happily refer him to others.

I was referred here by a friend after wanting to find a new hygienist/dentist for a while. I gave them a call and immediately found the staff to be very friendly. They were able to fit me in for X-rays, cleaning, and exam the very next day. The actual office was very clean with a comfortable waiting room. Like all the staff I talked to earlier, the hygienist was both very friendly and professional. She explained every part of the process, including some preliminary findings that was reviewed by Dr. Patel. Overall the cleaning was thorough and discomfort was kept at minimal levels (hint: if you floss like a normal person, unlike me, you'd most likely have no problems at all!). Dr. Patel came at the end of the appointment and reviewed the X-rays. He explained in depth the complications that could arise with the way my wisdom teeth were coming in. All-in-all: very friendly staff who leave no questions unanswered. Definitely would recommend to others!
