Dr. Samir Shah was born and raised in Central New Jersey. From an early age of many trips to the dentist himself, Dr. Shah knew he wanted to be in the dental field. He started his career at Bucknell University, where he earned a BS in Biology. Later, he received his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) from the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey. After practicing as a general dentist in Atlantic, Cape May, and Cumberland Counties, Dr. Shah gained entrance to the prestigious Ohio State University Graduate Periodontology Program for surgical residency training, where he received a Certificate of Periodontology in 2012.

Along with surgical training, Dr. Shah also graduated from The Ohio State University Graduate School with a Masters of Science Degree in Oral Microbiology. He is now a Board-Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and member of the American Dental Association and New Jersey Dental Association.

Dr. Shah was awarded a grant from the Osteohealth Dental Company for his work in bone regeneration around natural teeth using recombinant Platelet Derived Growth Factor (GEM21s). Dr. Shah also won the Balint Orban Memorial Competition at the 2012 American Association of Periodontology annual meeting in Los Angeles for his research titled, The Effect of Smoking on Immune Responses to Subgingival Biofilms. He enjoys expanding his knowledge of the latest research and advances in dentistry through publications, continuing education conferences around the country, as well as collegueages from around the globe.

Dr. Meera Sahniwas born and raised on the Jersey Shore in Rumson, New Jersey where she spent her childhood sailing on the Shrewsbury River. Her passion for Periodontics began after a moving shadowing experience where she encountered a 16-year-old patient with periodontal disease. To balance her varied interests, Dr. Meera majored in Art History and earned her BA from Barnard College, Columbia University. She was awarded the Alpha Zeta Prize for her thesis on Contemporary Chinese Art.

After honing her interest in Periodontics during dental school, Dr. Meera was accepted to the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicinewhere she received her Certificate of Periodontology. In addition to her surgical training, Dr. Meera also received her Masters of Science Degree in Oral Microbiology during her time at UPenn, which involved a clinical research project on enhancing traditional non-surgical periodontal therapy.

Dr. Meera is a firm believer in providing excellent care to her patients before, during, and long after treatment. Her patients are her number one priority and this is what gives her the greatest satisfaction in her practice. Outside of dentistry, Meera is passionate about developing a healthy mindset through her weekly practice of yoga and mindfulness. She is also an avid lover of art museums, birds, weight training, marathon running, and any opportunity to go hiking in nature.

Nicole has been a dental hygienist since 1995 and has been a loyal employee of South Jersey Dental Implants & Periodonticsfor the past 16 years! Over the years she has developed many close relationships with her patients who have become her extended family. When she is not in our office, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters. She also enjoys going to the beach, visiting New Hampshire in the summers and Florida in the winters. Her part-time schedule allows her to have the best balance of family and career.

Susan joined the South Jersey Dental Implants & Periodontics team in 2017.She completed her Bachelor's at the University of Delaware and received her degree in dental hygiene in 2013 from Harcum College. Susan enjoys educating her patients and providing thorough care. As a native to the area, Susan has recently relocated back to the shore. In her spare time, she likes to spend time with her new husband, head to the beach, and cheer on Philadelphia sports teams!

Amy joined the South Jersey Dental Implants & Periodontics team in January 2016 and is a graduate of The Ohio State University. Amy has been trained in Perioscopy therapy and enjoys being able to provide treatment for patients that can have an impact in not only their oral health, but overall health. When she's not at our office, she is a part-time adjunct faculty member at Rowan College of Burlington County teaching dental hygiene students.

Megan is a South-Jersey-native and joined the South Jersey Dental Implants & Periodontics team in 2017 as a dental assistant. She completed her bachelors degree in biology from Rowan University and continued her education by earning a degree in dental hygiene from Rowan College at Burlington County. Megan loves making patients feel comfortable during their dental treatment. In her free time, she enjoys going to the beach with her fiance.

Stacey has been a dental assisant since 2009 and joined our team in early 2016. Throughout her career, she has spent most of her time assisting in oral surgery. Stacey ensures that each patient is in a clean environment and also helpsher patients have a comfortable experience. Herpersonality adds some spunk and funto our work environment. When she is not in the office, Stacey enjoys going to church and spending time with her family.

'I was very impressed with the doctor and staff at SJ Periodontics. The dental assistant (Stacey) was very sweet. She apologized in advance for what she thought was going to be an x-ray process that might be 'a little pinchy.' However, she did a good job positioning the equipment and it wasn't uncomfortable at all. She and doctor had a friendly, professional rapport with each other and worked well together.'

Dave is originally from Toms River but in 2007 he moved to Long Island, New York where he completed his Bachelors in Jazz/Commercial Music. In 2013 Dave moved back to Toms River and joined our staff shortly after. Dave may be our insurance coordinator but he has also learned to assist Dr. Shah when necessary and has become licensed in taking dental x-rays. When not in the office, Dave enjoys spending time with friends, playing Disc Golf, working on/with computers, and watching Hockey (Go Devils!).
