Unfortunately, due to government regulations, we are unable to accept Medicare or Medicaid. This includes CareSource, Molina Healthcare, Buckeye Community Health Plan, Paramount, United Healthcare Community Plan, and all DMO and HMO plans.

We are doing everything in our power to prevent the spread of the virus in our office. One big way we are doing this is by using a virtual waiting room and asking patients to text or call once they are in our parking lot, so that we may control the flow of patients in a way that minimizes any contact with other patients during your visit. We also require all patients and staff to wear masks at all times while in the office. We take extra measures to sanitize all surfaces after each patient visit, and we also keep track of employee temperatures in and out of the office every day.

Thanks to the latest technology in numbing, our anesthetics are far more effective than they were even five years ago. We do our best to make you very numb before we even begin the treatment. First, well do a test to make sure you cannot feel anything. The only thing you should feel is pressure and touch, but absolutely no pain.

Technically, as soon as you leave the office, you can begin chewing on your new crown. However, you may still be numb, which could make eating more difficult. Our recommendation is to not chew anything hard until you feel like your mouth is back to normal. If youre hungry, think of soft foods like yogurt, soft serve ice cream or a milkshake.

The average time you are numb after you leave the dental office is about two hours. Taking a brisk walk or having a caffeinated beverage (activities that increase your blood pressure) can speed up the process of your mouth returning to normal.

Most people know that having good oral hygiene prevents tooth decay, gum disease, and bad breath. But did you know that having healthy teeth and gums plays a major role in your overall wellness? You actually help your body prevent many ailments, simply by brushing and flossing your teeth as you should. Your Columbus Ohio dental office helps you protect your health. Through Columbus Ohio dentistry services, you and your family will receive the care they need. You can also receive the cosmetic dentistry services in Columbus Ohio you want.

Obvious signs you need Columbus Ohio dentistry services include cavities, bleeding gums, sore teeth or headaches. But many signs you need to visit your dentist exist on a daily basis. You just do not sense them, as they cause no oral pain or discomfort.

These signs of needing to visit the dentist include problems throughout your body, such as diabetes, heart disease, and even preterm birth. Yes, those signs are extreme examples. But those problems can exist, if you do not take good care of your teeth and gums.

You need dental treatment throughout your life. Family dentistry treats babies through great-grandparents. Even routine dental care when you have no dental problems helps keep your whole body well. At the same time, it maintains your healthy smile and bite for years to come.

Not having pain in your mouth, bleeding gums or other oral health problems does not mean you can skip going to your dentist. Your general health depends on a healthy mouth, strong teeth, and healthy gums. The signs you need to visit a Rockville dentistry office exist all around you, every single day.

Oral bacteria is one of the worst invaders of your good health. Did you know you have over 500 types of bacteria in your mouth at any time? Allowed to run rampant, this bacteria can seriously damage your health. You keep that from happening through daily oral hygiene and routine Rockville dentistry.

Your saliva fights bacteria in your mouth, as your first line of defense against viruses and the damage bacteria can cause. Saliva contains antibodies that fight a wide range of diseases, from the common cold to HIV. When you do not take care of your mouth, teeth, and gums, you actually break down one of your best defenses against disease.

If saliva is a warrior against disease, plaque is salivas biggest opponent. Plaque is the sticky clear or white film that forms on your teeth around-the-clock. You brush and floss your teeth to fight plaque. But over time, plaque builds up along your gum line and between teeth.

Built-up plaque hardens into calculus, also called tartar. This hardened plaque gives bacteria a place to build up and start destroying your teeth and gums. Plaque causes tooth decay and gum disease. Bacteria in plaque also enter your bloodstream, sometimes causing infections in other parts of your body.

Scientists have linked oral bacteria to diabetes, heart disease, and premature birth. This sounds far-fetched at first. But as many as 18% of preterm babies born in the United States each year are born early because of oral infections. These same oral infections link to uncontrolled blood sugar and plaque build-up in arteries and along the walls of your heart.

Of course, general daily health relies on having healthy teeth and gums. You cannot eat a well-balanced diet if you suffer problems in your mouth. Sensitive teeth, for example, make eating citrus fruits painful. That tooth sensitivity relates to the breakdown of your tooth enamel or gums.

You need to visit your dentist at least twice each year. By doing so, you and your dentist catch oral health problems early, before they cause pain or other problems. Routine professional teeth cleanings also remove the hardened plaque where bacteria builds up.

Everyone in your family needs to visit their dentist at your Columbus Ohio dental office on a regular basis. No matter your age, dental checkups, and services help keep your whole body healthy and strong. Services of South High Dental include:
