Dr. James Bennett, a 1990 Cardinal Gibbons High School graduate received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Belmont Abbey College in North Carolina. He then received his D.M.D. Degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. His residency in Pediatric Dentistry was completed at the University of Texas Health Science Center-Houston in Houston, Texas in 2000.
Dr. Bennett has received many awards, including a Certificate of Merit from the American Society of Dentistry for Children and the Graduate Student Research Award from the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Bennett is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a member of the American and Florida Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association and the American Orthodontic Society.
Dr. Melanie Rothberg is originally from South Florida and graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in 1999. She then attended Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine where she earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 2006. She completed a General Practice Residency at New York Medical College and completed her Pediatric Dental Residency at Albert Einstein Jacobi Medical Center where she served as Chief Resident. She is board certified in Pediatric Dentistry and a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Ira Rothstein, aka 'Dr.R,' was also born and raised in South Florida, where he attended Pine Crest school. After receiving his Bachelor of Science degree from Emory University, he went on to receive his D.M.D degree, Certificate in Orthodontics, and Master of Science degree from Nova Southeastern University 's College of Dental Medicine. During his time and NSU, Dr. R was admitted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. Becoming partners with Dr. Peter Wohlgemuth 'Dr.W' in Smiles by Dr.W and Dr.R and being able to provide care in the community he grew up is a dream come true!
Dr.R is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Florida Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, DEAL component of the Seattle Study Club, Spear Study Club, ITI study Club, and the Pinnacle Study club.
Dr.R and his wife Lindy live in the area with their son Oliver, and look forward to seeing you at the office and around town. We know that together we will make this the best orthodontic experience possible!

Dr. Bennet and all of his staff and team were wonderful. Our twins were so excited to see everyone there and had such a fun and great experience. It was such a warm and friendly atmosphere. Not to mention, they did such an amazing job decorating for Halloween too!

Always a great experience. Staff is happy, friendly, and they are super helpful to the kiddos. Both my kids go here, and they always talk about how going to the Dentist is fun. :-)

Dr.Melanie is the best! I wish I would have had a dentist like her when I was a child. Her whole team is wonderful & welcoming! Mary (dental hygienist) was fantastic, she was so kind, encouraging and did a great job distracting and communicating with my child. Great team!

Great experience every time we take the kids to Dr.Bennett. Front desk is always incredibly friendly and helpful with appointments and questions. We have been seeing them for five years now. They are always on time and nice.
