Dr. Benjamin Keith Huff was born & raised in Coos Bay. He & his wife enjoy all the area has to offer with their four children. Dr. Huff received his dental degree from Oregon Health & Science University. He has taken many continuing education courses to provide up-to-date treatment to all those he serves. Dr. Huff believes in making dentistry easily accessible for patients while providing the highest standards of care & kindness. He is extremely pleased to be serving the people & community of his hometown. Dr. Huff follows the golden rule of treating you&your family the way he&his family want to be treated.
Dr. Melnik grew up in the Pacific Northwest & has a deep appreciation of the area. She enjoys exploring the outdoors by kayaking, mountain biking & hiking. Her love of community keeps her active & looking for new opportunities to be involved. Dr. Melnik chose to pursue dentistry because she believes that oral health plays a crucial role in the wellbeing of an individual, family & community. She earned her dental degree from Roseman University of Health Sciences College of Dental Medicine in Utah. She finds dentistry extremely rewarding & likes to help patients feel at ease with clear & transparent communication.
Dr. Cannon studied biology, chemistry & Portuguese at Utah State University before earning his dental degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. Dedicated to continuing his education, Dr. Cannon completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency at Idaho State, where he got advanced training in oral surgery, endodontics, periodontics, prosthodontics, IV sedation & implant dentistry. He is excited to be living in the Coos Bay area & exploring the region while hiking with his dog, Paisley. He is proud to provide kind & gentle care to his patients & happy to provide comfortable dental care with the team at South Coast Family Dental.
Dr. AJ Donick grew up in northwestern Pennsylvania and moved to Coos Bay after living in eastern Oregon. He earned a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering from Penn State University and completed his dental degree at the State University of New York at Buffalo. After dental school, he attended an Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency at Idaho State University, where he expanded his skills in the practice of dentistry. Dr. Donick moved to the bay with his wife Hilary, a veterinarian, and their bird dog, Clancy. They are looking forward to enjoying all the coast has to offer, including the great people. Dr. Donick feels privileged to care for his patients at South Coast Family Dental.
Dr. Andrew Ringle was born & raised in beautiful Logan, Utah. He attended Utah State University & graduated with honors, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in exercise science. He then earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Determined to increase his education & ability to provide exceptional patient care, he took a residency in the Advanced Education in General Dentistry at Idaho State University in Pocatello. During his residency, he received advanced training in general dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, oral surgery, IV sedation & implant dentistry. Dr. Ringle, his wife, Sydnie, & their three daughters, Kennedy, Chandler & Monroe, love living in Coos Bay & exploring all that the area has to offer. Dr. Ringle is thrilled to be part of the team at South Coast Family Dentistry & looks forward to treating each patient with a smile.
Courtney was born and raised in Coos Bay. She then moved to Eugene to earn her Bachelors in Social Science and Spanish at the University of Oregon. Soon after she began Dental Hygiene school at Lane Community College, where she graduated as the vice-president of her class in 2018. Courtney and her husband spend most of their time fixing up their 1927 craftsman style home, enamored by their sweet baby boy, Harrison and ruff housing with their Goldendoodle, Whiteaker. Courtneys passion for dental hygiene lies in the ability to serve people from all walks of life regardless of what they do or where they are from.
Olivia was born & raised in Myrtle Point. She & most of her extended family call Coos County home. After high school she moved to New Mexico & attended New Mexico State University on a full ride collegiate rodeo scholarship where she completed her bachelors degree in chemistry. After college, she returned to Oregon & attended dental hygiene school at Oregon Institute of Technology in La Grande. She chose hygiene because she wanted to be a part of the healthcare community improving peoples lives & overall health. Olivia enjoys getting to meet new people every day, making connections with her patients & helping them achieve better oral health. She prides herself on helping patients who have had negative experiences overcome their dental anxiety through professional & caring treatment. Olivia feels honored to be a part of an office that gives everyone a chance to be taken care of & makes their experience & oral health a priority. Outside of the office, Olivias fun has to do with horses & competing in barrel racing. She travels to compete every chance she gets & loves experiencing new places. While she mostly competes in the North West she has been as far as Texas for competitions.
Eliza is one of seven siblings, which has made family her highest priority. She & her large extended family call the Pacific Northwest home & enjoy all it has to offer. Eliza graduated from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff as a dental hygienist. She moved to Alaska after graduation & then to Oregon where she became one of the skilled & knowledgeable dental hygienists at South Coast Family Dentistry. Eliza takes great pride in patient care & education. She has spent her 20 years as a hygienist continuing to improve the patient experience as well as patient oral health. Outside of work, Eliza enjoys spending time with her husband & Chili, her beloved dog. The family enjoys taking walks together appreciating all the beauty Oregon offers.
Tiffany Mahikoa grew up living in different parts of the Western U.S. but she has called the Pacific Northwest home for nearly 20 years. She graduated from Pacific University in 2014 with her bachelors degree in dental hygiene, moved to the Southern Oregon Coast & never looked back. She brought with her a passion for community health improvement, compassionate patient-centered care & building collaborative relationships.
Tiffany shares her life with her husband, Nick, & their pets, two rambunctious dogs & a cranky old cat. Tiffany has too many hobbies and interests to name, but her favorite thing to do is learn new things! She loves working with people from all backgrounds & seeks to help patients who feel anxious at the dental office.

I have lacked the care I need due to inept dentists that only care about $$$ and constant upselling. The pain these other dentists ( yes local ones) induced by being unable to get a tooth out without feeling like I'd been to a butcher and the pain for MONTHS afterward was enough to keep me from going until I needed one out ASAP. This place is my teeth's new home.It is safe..clean...up to date..professional..human.. kind and affordable with their in-house insurance. Dr Cannon is who I went to and he's highly educated and experienced. Now I feel like I can take care of my and my husband's teeth like a normal person. Thank you South Coast Family Dentistry.

I live in Crescent City, CA where there's very few dentists, let alone dentist taking new patients. The ER in Brookings, OR suggested South Coast Family Dentistry knowing I needed an appointment ASAP for an abscessed tooth. I called and they got me in NEXT DAY! I couldn't believe it. After x-rays and a plan for full root canal I told the doctor I live in California and they made it a point to schedule my full root canal THE NEXT DAY! Thank you for saving me time and money! I will be eternally grateful considering how scared I was going in. The calmness and confidence of all the staff in this office is truly comforting.

I just moved to the area last month and my tooth began to hurt. I was so worried about finding a dentist that could fit me in. I called South Coast and they got me on the schedule for two days later! The morning of my appointment my face began to swell and I was in considerable pain, I called and asked if there was any way I could come in earlier. The receptionist was so kind, and after speaking with the dentist she allowed me to come in hours before my scheduled appointment. As soon as I arrived the staff took me back, took an X-ray and explained in detail what the problem was. They prescribed antibiotics and recommended a pain remedy, then sent me off with a referral for the specialist. The whole thing was finished in half an hour. The dentist and his entire staff were just wonderful throughout the whole experience. I really can't believe how kind and helpful everybody was. They even have in-house dental insurance plans, so the visit was affordable and my cleanings for the year are covered. This is hands down the best dentist I have ever been to. 10/10 can't recommend them enough.

Working offshore on boats sometimes calls for an emergency visit to a dentist in an unfamiliar town. I called on Monday with a raging toothache and SC folks were able to get me in on Tuesday and then a quick xray, diag, and extraction had me back to work on Wed. Fast efficient service at a very reasonable cash price. Thanks!

I would like to start by saying that I'am a seasonal worker at a golf course here and am 2100 miles away from home.My crown on my tooth cracked and was beyond repaired.I called South Coast an they were able to get me in the next day.they were able to build a temp tooth in about a hour.And they didn't price gouge me.I would recommend them for any dental needs.very professional.Thank you so much for everything

have a lot of anxiety when it comes to Dentists because of a pretty traumatic experience I had years ago. Because of the anxiety I always tend to put off going to the dentist for way too long. I was about 2 years overdue and not only was I anxious but I was also super embarrassed! The whole team was amazing from the time I stepped through the door until I stepped out. The assistant, dentist and hygienist were all kind, nonjudgmental and thorough while being attentive to sensitivity and pain making sure I was comfortable and honestly it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. Night and day compared to treatment I received years ago (not local!). Great experience overall :)

My experience here has always been really good! When my old OHP dentist messed up with one of my teeth this place was able to help and walked me through the whole process. If you would like a dentists office that really cares and listens to their patients then this is the place for you

The most awesome experience going to the dentist as I'm super anxiety. Completely opposite of the last place my husband and I were using (obviously we stopped going there for several reasons). My new doctor, Dr. Alexander Donick was incredible! So kind and patient. He walked me through every little step of my procedure and had such a calming voice and it was kind of spa like lol. We've found a new dental home and I highly recommend them. Oh and EVERYONE including reception, hygienist were so nice. Prices are even less expensive than our last dental office. The Best dentist office in Coos Bay. I have been to several others and am so happy that I tried this one. All the staff are friendly and very helpful. The dentists here at South Coast are highly professtional and yet very friendly as well. They put you at ease. Just love it here. Also, they have a in-house dental plan that you pay monthly and is very reasonable. This gives you free cleanings and xrays, as well as discounts off other services. They have a nice big waiting room with big screen TV(cc). My dentist is Dr Cannon, and he really is kind and puts you at ease. Its now a joy going to the dentist.

I had to have a very painful tooth removed today, and they took really good care of me! Everyone was incredibly nice and my visit was very fast, maybe the fastest I have ever had concerning any medical appointments. The Dentist was quick and very pleasant. I will be back soon for a cleaning and a consult on what else I need to do. I highly recommend!

The staff and the dentists at this facility are some of the kindest and most knowledgeable people I've ever met. They stand behind their work and if they notice an issue they'll fix it promptly and professionally. I've gone to South Coast Family Dentistry for several years. I just recently came back after not having dental insurance and I feel they've been great throughout the entire time I've been coming here. Not only with helping to find affordable assistance but also with cleanings, fillings, and dental advice. I especially appreciate Dr. Melnik, she was very kind and helpful with my dental care. The Staff are also very helpful and kind. I've never liked going to the dentist, but going here has been overall a good experience.

Over charge 1800 plus for 6 fillings is ridiculous never even completely filled my wife's teeth and to add on top of that she called multiple times to tell them her teeth still hurt they don't call back

I needed a tooth extracted quickly as the pain was getting progressively worse. I couldn't find a dentist to do the extraction in my little town so I felt very fortunate that South Coast Family Dentistry was able to not only get me in the next day, but complete the extraction. The Doctor, as well as all the staff, were extremely friendly, proficient and professional. They make you feel like one of the family. Seeing them was certainly worth the two hour drive to get there.

I went in for an exam at another dentist and he said I would need to get a crown on the tooth. I was pretty sure I just needed a new filling but he insisted I needed a crown. I paid $140 for a very limited exam. I decided to get a second opinion and I am very happy I did. At South Coast Dentist I had a much more thorough exam for $50 and today I had my filling fixed, no crown needed. That was $416 instead of the $1500 they wanted to charge me for an unnecessary and aggressive procedure at the other dentist. I am a little disappointed with billing as I had told them I will pay cash at my initial appointment. When I came back for my filling they said I had to pay a week in advance for the cash discount which no one told me. I thought it was unreasonable they could not honor their cash discount when I had told them well in advance that I pay cash and no one had told me this stipulation. Oh well lesson learned I am not too disappointed as I saved a lot not getting a crown. The dentist was amazing everything went very smoothly and I am happy!
