Dr. Pouria Maleki graduated from the prestigious school of New York University NYU in 2006 with his Doctor in Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. After spending over four years in New York City, he came back to his native Southern California. After practicing for five years as an associate and supervising dentist, Dr. Maleki felt the passion and urge to go out on his own. Dr. Malekis passion and love for dentistry as an art is evident by his countless hours of continuing education and study clubs. His humor and genuine compassion for his patients makes him unique and one of a kind. Children love him and dental phobics forget their apprehension and fear when they visit him at South Coast Dentistry. You will enjoy his love for all people, his staff, and his patients when you visit, too!
Dr. Malekis experience and realistic, individual approach to you and your family will put you at ease. He will take the time needed for you so that you understand what your options are and how to best accomplish your goals.
In his spare time, Dr. Maleki enjoys being with his family, basketball, soccer, running, remaining active with fellow alumni of his local high school wrestling team, and watching the Lakers. He loves the Lakers!
Growing up in Orange County allows me to know and love our community with all that it offers. I love being a part of my community, it could be surfing at the beach, playing basketball at the gym or helping out the local high school wrestling team. My family is everything to me and I love to spend as much time with them as possible. I am a die hard Lakers fan and have been known to pop up on the jumbo screen at times. Dentistry is my favorite hobby and I enjoy every day that I practice what I love.

It was my first time at South Coast Dentistry and I could say they are the best! Dr Maleki explained details and answered all my questions! Nilou is one of the kindest person I ever met, who facilitated transferring my case from Illinois to California! Highly recommending this office to everyone who are looking for a new Dentist! Shirin

I had an appt with Dr for Invisalign and a few other dental issues. The Dr was up front and told me there was no need to do Invisalign that my teeth were fine and did a filling repair quickly and it was an overall great experience. Finally a Dr that does what's in the patients interest and will not do unnecessary work. My wife had same experience with great quality work being done and no up selling or pain with Dr Maleki.

My temporary implant broke and I was referred here by my dentist in NY. Dr. Maleki exceeded my expectations and took care of me during my visit. He is positive and welcoming, and I truly felt taken care of during my visit. His work was skilled and efficient and met my needs are every level. The office atmosphere is great and I had a great time here. Highly recommend!

We all know how stressful is a dentist visit, however Dr. Maleki and his wonderful and thoughtful staff changed the game for me. I've been visiting them since last year and my most recent visit was supposed to be a challenging one, of course in my head, and they turned that page for me! The procedure was smooth and quick; this team is a very caring and personable. I hesitate to name each person, just in case I forget someone. Thank you so very much Dr Maleki for accommodating and understanding my needs. See you soon!

I want to thank Dr. Maleki who is a wonderful and experienced dentist! He does everything with soul, kindness and professionally approaches all situations. South Coast Dentistry has a very attentive and caring staff. When we arrived at the reception of Dr. Maleki, we were immediately greeted and told how our visit would be and they did everything to make us feel comfortable. Before the appointment, they conducted a study and a preliminary examination, everything was done carefully, accurately and professionally. Dr. Maleki told us about all the details of the condition of the teeth and the treatment plan for getting healthy and beautiful teeth. The hygienist cleaned the surface of the teeth and told about the features of daily dental care. My daughter is very satisfied and will be happy to go to the next appointment. Dr. Maleki thank you for your professionalism and kindness you are a specialist of the highest level!

Visited that dentistry for cleaning and x-rays. When I came to the second cleaning they said that the results of the previous x-ray were not saved and they need to do it again without charges. Finally, I received a claim with a bill for an x-ray again... Also, they charged my wife for the fillings that are covered by insurance and now we are trying to get that money back for more than a month. Called them several times, even came to the dentistry again, but they always have some problems like accounting is not in the working place, or they are too busy and so on. They also always say that they will call back regarding that, but no one calls you later. Really tired from that, so think twice before coming to this dentistry.

Dr. Malecki and the entire South Coast Dentistry staff are AMAZING! Dr. Malecki is the best dentist I have ever been to. He is extremely knowledgeable, warm, personable and is very advanced in his skills and technology. Dr. Malecki and his entire team are some of the nicest and kindest people you will ever meet. He is a family dentist and is also great with kids! He is truly the best!

South Coast Dentistry is a great office. The staff makes you feel welcomed and are attentive to your needs. I had to have a filling fixed and had a meeting until 2 and another one at 3. I was assured I would be out by my meeting and I was. Dr Maleki takes time to answer questions and educate his patients which is a welcomed change to in dentistry. Best part, no more chicken getting stuck in my teeth :). Highly recommend South Coast Dentistry to anyone who is tired of traditional transactional dentistry.

Major billing issues!! Do not go to this dentist.They will over bill your insurance and you. They will then refuse to correct ledgers or issue you materials due when caught. If you are a current patient, it is strongly advised you review your actual insurance EOB (explanation of benefits) and their stated patient responsibility versus your records with them. You most likely will find discrepancies especially as they ask for "estimated payments" at "walk out" based on calculations before actually billing your insurance. Every time we did this, the insurance came back that we owed less then they charged us and they will not issue a refund. It's a shame, Dr. Maleki is actually really nice. But his services are not worth being ripped off hundreds to thousand of dollars for.

Dr. Maleki is great! I went in with a severe fear of dentist and he walked me through step by step. He was super considerate of my fears and made sure that I was always comfortable. Appointments are always easy to make, and the front staff is wonderful.

I can't tell you how much I adore Dr. Maleki and Shima at South Coast Dentistry. I've been to several dentist and Dr. Maleki is by far the best. I had an old root canal with a crown that broke and he recommended a few options, I chose the dental implant. I was very nervous the day of the procedure, needless to say everything went as planned and I had no problems. To be honest, I was very surprised when I had no swelling and no pain that night and the following days. I highly recommend Dr. Maleki and his staff, they are absolutely amazing.
