Dr. Orendorf was born and raised in Barneveld, New York, located in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains. He moved out west to complete his undergraduate studies at the University of California, Davis , where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition Science. He then moved on to San Francisco for dental school, earning his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in 1997.
After practicing in the San Francisco Bay area and Napa Valley for three years he moved back east with his wife, Rebecca. They now have four children: Matteson, Maxwell and twin girls, Emma and Kate. Dr. Orendorf practiced in nearby Dover, NH for seven years before proudly announcing the opening of his solo practice here in South Berwick, ME in May of 2007.

I am fairly new to the South Berwick area and I wasn't sure where to find a new dentist. I have had some questionable experiences in the past as most people have had with dentists I'm sure. I cannot express enough how wonderful Dr Orendorf and his staff are. I have NEVER met a dentist I trusted so much or who cared about his clients and staff so much. He treats every patient like family. The staff is also so sweet and accommodating. My husband happens to be black and I was worried about how he would be accepted in an almost all white community in Maine. He LOVES going to Dr Orendorfs office too. They treat him like family too and that meant the world to me (as he often feels stared at and ostracized to an extent as a black man in one of the whitest states). For me, that just speaks to how special these people are. It is so rare to find a business like that these days in an increasingly corporate world. My family and I really appreciate the care we have gotten from Dr. Orendorf and staff that work there. He takes the time to explain everything to you and he doesn't mind explaining it more than once. He is patient, kind, and concerned about the comfort level of his patients. The staff are all knowledgeable and very kind as well. Jane and Jill are very helpful with insurance and always seek answers to all my questions in a timely manner. The hygienists are just amazing as well. It isn't easy for me to go to the dentist and he and his staff validate my fears and help me work through them. He is the best there is!
