Though we have been located in Downtown Seattle for a great many years, we relocated to a brand new office in mid-2021 conveniently located in the One Union Square Building on the beautiful Union Square campus with easy on/off freeway access, ample parking, great access to local transit options including two nearby light rail stations, a great Mt. Rainier vista, and a myriad of amenities on campus, including retail and restaurants. We look forward to seeing you at our location in the ONE Union Square building!
Dr. Mark Waind graduated from Baylor College of Dentistry, located in Dallas, Texas. Prior to Dental School, he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree at the University of Arkansas. Dr. Waind has been practicing Dentistry since 1993, the vast majority of those years right here in Washington state. After 10 years in the Everett area, Dr. Waind moved his practice to Downtown Seattle. Since he began practicing dentistry, Dr. Waind has made it a priority to stay ahead of the field through continuing educational coursework and the most current technology ensuring that his patients receive the most comprehensive and advanced dental care. Dr. Waind is a current and continuing member of the American Dental Association, the Washington State Dental Association, and Seattle King County Dental Society.

I have been in the dental industry since I Graduated Seattle Central hygiene school in 2019. I really enjoy being a Dental Hygienist because I get to meet new people and make a positive impact on their life in providing good oral health which truly benefits their overall medical health. I live in Fremont with my boyfriend, Grant, and our dog, Bandit. I enjoy cooking, hiking, traveling, and checking out new wineries, amongst many other things. More importantly, I very much look forward to seeing you in our office and partnering with you for your dental care.
Shawn is Dr. Wainds Registered Dental Assistant. She grew up and went to school in Ohio where she received her training in dental assisting. Shawn has been a Dental Assistant since 1994 and has been working with Sound Dentistry since 2006. Shawn says she really enjoys assisting Dr. Waind, who has a gentle and caring approach while providing the utmost dental care for our wonderful patients. When away from the office Shawn enjoys walking, hiking, and cooking.
I am proud to be part of such a friendly and dedicated office. I love helping patients obtain their smile and feel confident and comfortable in every visit. I have several years of experience in the dental field. Back home, I went to college to become a journalist. When I immigrated to Seattle from El Salvador, I tried to go to nursing school which is not surprising, since my Dad was a Doctor and my sisters are Doctors and nurses, as well (I have 5 sisters). Now I feel happy and confident that I chose a field that makes me smile and brings opportunities to grow everyday. In my free time, I enjoy biking a great deal. Ive done the Seattle to Portland and Vancouver BC bike ride, I love hiking in the beautiful Pacific NorthWest, cooking, traveling and, of course, salsa dancing. While my career background started in Pharmaceuticals and Training for more than a couple of decades, I love being part of Dr. Wainds amazing and talented colleagues in this office! When they let me out of the back office, I truly enjoy meeting and getting to know each and every one of our patients. Away from the fun we have serving our patients, I love snowboarding, hiking, wineries, traveling, and, notably, spending time with my family/friends. Im a born and raised Washington State native, having attended the University of Washington (Go Dawgs!), and love to enjoy all that this wonderful area affords us!
