Dr. Shadow is a native of Houston, Texas and moved to the Valley of the Sun in 2002 to begin her practice in orthodontics. She received her dental and orthodontic degrees from the prestigious University of Texas Health Science Center, the largest medical center in the world.
While studying in the Texas Medical Center, Dr. Shadow had the opportunity to collaborate with some of the best scientific minds on groundbreaking research. She has contributed to the field of orthodontics on several published research projects. The daughter of a scientist, Dr. Shadow spent quite a bit of time as a child in her fathers laboratory learning the scientific method. She still uses the scientific method when it comes to the diagnosis and treatment planning of orthodontic cases.
Dr. Samantha Vu has been practicing in Arizona since 2003. She received her Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Southern Illinois University and her orthodontic degree from Saint Louis University. Dr. Vu has always had a passion for learning and is truly a scientist at heart.
She continues to further her knowledge and keeps up with the latest research and development in all areas of healthcare.Her knowledge base, combined with her talents as an artist, bring a unique quality to the practice of orthodontics. Dr. Vuhas conducted research on the effects of oral-facial-dental development through a lifetime, which has helped her specialize in the areas of childhood dentofacial development, adult treatment, and facial aesthetics. She pays particular attention to facial harmonies and sees every case as a work of art.
Dr. Christensen graduated from UNLV with a BS degree in Biomechanical Kinesiology. He received his dental training at Creighton University and subsequently completed his orthodontic specialty training at Baylor College of Dentistry.
Dr. Christensen has been practicing orthodontics in the Phoenix area since 2002. He also lectures domestically and internationally to orthodontists and orthodontic residents on orthodontic treatment mechanics.

We have had such a great experience here! Everyone is so nice and welcoming. My guy has autism and from the very beginning they were so accommodating and patient with him. We've had a couple issues with his wires and they were so quick to get him in and make sure he was comfortable. I would HIGHLY recommend!

I never thought that I would be able to trust the professional talents and thoughtful strategies of an orthodontist as much as I have Dr. Shadow and Dr. Vu. Their careful expertise and passion truly make them the best in their industry! I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for ortho treatment in AZ. Their passion extends even to their staff as I have been kindly greeted by an involved staff each and every visit. Liz, Shala, and Jennifer have celebrated the successful victories along my daughters orthodontic journey. Truly blessed to have found this orthodontic office. I will never go anywhere else.

Shout out to the whole team at Sonoran Smile! My son just got his braces off after 2 years and his teeth are beautiful! They did an amazing job correcting his teeth and bite. Thank you Liz, Jen, Dr. Vu and the whole crew for 5 star customer service and care. If you're looking for an orthodontist, I'd recommend Sonoran Smile!

Victoria was amazing today and made me not only a new bottom retainer which I was having issues with but also a new top retainer after noticing how thin it was. She definitely went above and beyond for me today.

What a friendly crew! I had such a great experience in the chair. My treatment was very clear thanks to the Assistant who prepped my teeth for braces. I broke a bracket within the first week. They got me in on the same day to fix it. I received a call the following day to see how I was feeling and if I needed any advice or help. So helpful and thoughtful. I will be sending anyone in need of ortho care to them!

Full disclosure: Several years ago, Sonoran Smile gave away treatment to one teacher a month for a year. I was one of those recipients, so I cannot speak to anything regarding pricing or value. However, even though I was paying them exactly $0 for their services, I always received excellent treatment. I always knew what they were doing in my mouth and why, they fixed things quickly when they broke, and three years later, they're still providing excellent service. My permanent retainer broke and they got me in quickly and took care of getting my teeth straightened back out (I was bad at wearing my removable retainer and left my broken retainer alone until I noticed I had developed a gap) and getting a new retainer on. I love the staff and love their services!

Worst customer service. Bcuz we are behind in payments they stopped treating our kids until payment is in full. When i asked to speak to the owner i was denied. The manager is rude and loud.

This office has always been accommodating and beyond friendly when we come in. They go out of their way to support their patients and families. We love the free coffee, tea, and water. It is so nice to relax in the waiting area and watch TV with a cup of coffee. They get us in and out and have a very knowledgeable staff. My daughter's teeth are beautiful and we are so happy we chose Sonoran Smiles!

Dr Vu and her staff are wonderful. Both her front office and back office staff are friendly and informative. Dr Vu is wonderfully detail oriented, thorough, kind, and does great work. High quality of care is definitely first on her list.

We went to 3 orthodontists before selecting Sonoran Smile. The doctors are kind and took the time to explain everything and come up with a treatment plan that we were happy with. The office and staff are great. The pricing is actually quite affordable too and they have easy payment plan options. We are so happy with Sonoran Smile!

Our oldest daughter in Paradise Valley said..WAIT>...I have the best doctor who did me and our oldest son..you MUST see Dr.Vu before you commit to anything...WE DID !..Your office is sharp , clean and the girls names on the board is class..the manager is sharp and so are all the girls.Everything was tailored to US..the office is well managed and the whole place is professional..we are Thrilled..Ava Goodman and Family...
