Dr. Shadow is a native of Houston, Texas and moved to the Valley of the Sun in 2002 to begin her practice in orthodontics. She received her dental and orthodontic degrees from the prestigious University of Texas Health Science Center, the largest medical center in the world.
While studying in the Texas Medical Center, Dr. Shadow had the opportunity to collaborate with some of the best scientific minds on groundbreaking research. She has contributed to the field of orthodontics on several published research projects. The daughter of a scientist, Dr. Shadow spent quite a bit of time as a child in her fathers laboratory learning the scientific method. She still uses the scientific method when it comes to the diagnosis and treatment planning of orthodontic cases.
Dr. Samantha Vu has been practicing in Arizona since 2003. She received her Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Southern Illinois University and her orthodontic degree from Saint Louis University. Dr. Vu has always had a passion for learning and is truly a scientist at heart.
She continues to further her knowledge and keeps up with the latest research and development in all areas of healthcare.Her knowledge base, combined with her talents as an artist, bring a unique quality to the practice of orthodontics. Dr. Vuhas conducted research on the effects of oral-facial-dental development through a lifetime, which has helped her specialize in the areas of childhood dentofacial development, adult treatment, and facial aesthetics. She pays particular attention to facial harmonies and sees every case as a work of art.
Dr. Christensen graduated from UNLV with a BS degree in Biomechanical Kinesiology. He received his dental training at Creighton University and subsequently completed his orthodontic specialty training at Baylor College of Dentistry.
Dr. Christensen has been practicing orthodontics in the Phoenix area since 2002. He also lectures domestically and internationally to orthodontists and orthodontic residents on orthodontic treatment mechanics.

If you need braces, come to Sonoran Smile Orthodontics. Both of my kids come to this place to fix underbite and overbite. The doctors and staffs are friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful. We had 5 stars experience with Rosette on every visit. She had done a fantastic job and was so gentle to my daughter. My kids always look forward to all of their appointments.

Victoria was great! I came in to remove my permanent retainer (for an mri) which she was happy to do. She noticed that glue had been left behind from when I got my braces off some time ago. She kindly polished my teeth and removed anything left from my braces. She had great chairside manner and eye for details. Kudos!

Definitely a five star review! Both of our kids have had work done and gone through the getting braces. The office is very attentive, understanding, and accommodating with setting appointments. This is our first time for our family getting introduced to the braces world. The Sonoran Smile staff is very knowledgeable, and patient to work with our family. McKenna at Gilbert office took her time in answering all of our questions. Appointments are easily available as well.

I'm approximately 40 times the age of their average patient, so I remember what orthodontics was like back when most practitioners trained in the Soviet Union or Bulgaria. I can't believe how much things have changed, always for the better. For starters, the employees are happy. More importantly, my teeth are moving in the correct direction, quickly and with no pain. Unlike my childhood braces, these ones don't rust. The only thing I noticed as an adult patient was that I had to stoop down just a bit for their panoramic x-ray machine. Inevitably, something will go wrong with braces occasionally between appointments, and Sonoran Smile always gets me in immediately when this happens. Once they even did this when they were closed (lady turned lights on, turned power on to equipment, and fixed my problem in a minute). I get really annoyed with medical providers who don't leave any time for unscheduled needs of their patients. You know how your doctor can't get you in for six weeks when you have a sinus infection? The equivalent never happens here. Pricing was also very straightforward, and less than I was expecting.
