Dr. Song, a.k.a 'Dr. Yub', first had the inspiration to enter the field of dentistry as teen, when he was told of his childhood story. When he was only 3-4 years old, his dentist said they would have to extract all of his baby teeth due to decay. Being shocked and scared, his family decided to get a 2nd opinion where the dentist suggested an alternative treatment plan that took patient 's age and anxiety into consideration. He was able to tolerate the new treatment plan and thanks to that, has healthy teeth up to today.
This experience inspired Dr. Yub to become a dentist so that he can follow a similar path, helping patient's individual needs. Realizing how people fear going to dentist Dr. Yub's focus is to make the experience more patient-friendly and comfortable. Dr. Yub attended S.U.N.Y Binghamton, where he majored in Mathematical science and pre-dental studies. Afterwards, he went to New York University College of Dentistry for his D.D.S degree.
With over 11 years of experience working with children and adults, Dr. Yub performs most procedures such as general dentistry (cleaning, fillings and extractions) as well as root canals, implants, braces and prosthetics. Through careful study of each patient's unique individual situation,
Dr. Kim was born in Seoul, South Korea and came to the U.S. for college. He graduated from University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign with a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular and Cell Biology and received a Doctor of Dental Surgery in Touro College of Dental Medicine, NY.
Dr. Kim's goal in his career is to improve patient's oral health by providing excellent dental care. Also, Dr. Kim is a strong believer that both doctors and patients should work as a team to keep good oral health. That is why he is very passionate to take continuing education courses in order to stay with the most advanced dental care available. Also, not only does he keep learning from continuing education courses, but also he emphasizes educating patients to expand their dental knowledge. The core values along with conservative treatment plans will put the patients at their best interest.
Dr. Pannu earned her DMD (Doctor of Dental Medicine) degree from the prestigious University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. She graduated with Honors in Community Oral Health and earned PASS- International Dentist Award with a passion for providing comprehensive dental care to her patients.
Dr. Pannu has previous experience of seven years as a general dentist in India and the USA. She has broad-based experience in General Dentistry, Periodontics, Implant Dentistry, Fixed & Removable Prosthodontics, Endodontics, Laser Dentistry, Oral Surgery, Invisalign, and CAD - CAM restorations. Her specialized dental skills along with compassion and commitment to patient comfort have earned Dr. Pannu the excellent reputation among her patients.
Dr. Pannus pursuit of excellence is constant and always growing. In fact, one of her principal mottos is based on this quote Good doctors understand responsibility better than privilege and practice accountability better than business. Dr. Pannu works one on one with her patients to achieve excellent results. She likes to educate patients on oral health, the co- relation of oral and systemic health, and how both go hand in hand. Dr. Pannu likes to discuss all the treatment options with the patients and make sure her patients have a thorough understanding of their options. She stays on the cusp of current knowledge by attending continuing education programs that provide invaluable information and continually updates her skills. Dr. Tae Chul Ho is originally from Dallas, Texas and went to Baylor University for undergrad with a major in Bachelor of Science. He received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the New York University College of Dentistry and attended a year of Dental residency at St. Barnabas Hospital. He was able to learn all scopes of dentistry including implant dentistry. His passion is to restore teeth and to provide the highest quality service for each of his patients.
Dr. Patel grew up in North Attleboro Massachusetts where he graduated from high school in the top 10% of his class in 1995. He attended and graduated from Tufts University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry in 1999. Dr. Patel has always been passionate about oral cancer and was a research associate at Harvard University studying oral cancer while publishing several research papers in prestigious scientific journals. In 2006 Dr. Patel graduated from the University of Connecticut School Dental Medicine with a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree.
After dental school, Dr. Patel completed his residency program at St. Barnabas Hospital in Bronx, NY where he obtained extensive experience in all aspects of modern dental care which includes placing/restoring dental implants, third molar extractions, molar root canals, and cosmetic dentistry. He is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), the Connecticut State Dental Association (CSDA), the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine (AADSM) and the Middlesex County Dental Society.
Continuing his ideal of excellence in dentistry, Dr. Patel persists with continuing education courses on implants, root canals, and cosmetic dentistry. He is active in the community volunteering for both CTMOM (Connecticut Mission of Mercy) and Give Kids a Smile day where he provides free dental care to the underserved people of Connecticut. He is also a board member of the Hispanic Alliance, which provides scholarships, loans and mentorship to the Hispanic community of south east Connecticut. When he is not working, Dr. Patel likes to spend time with his family, travel, read, play basketball and has recently taken up golf.

My family has been a client of Sono Dental for over 5 years now. They have very good and skilled dentists available on urgent basis, however I wish their pediatric dentistry was more accessible. As of now, their have a pediatric dentist available on certain days only and it's impossible to schedule a walk on appointment for urgent needs . The front desk is amazing though!

Do not go to this place, there's a guy there by the name of Joel He is a self-centered type of a person I was very disappointed in his professionalism, he doesn't listen to the patient, I have state issued benefits, and because of that reason there is some type of prejudice going on, he already tells you what covered and what is not without checking the insurance, but I bet if I had any other kind of insurance as far as having a job, I will be the first one that he would want to be take care of,After I lost my job I lost The insurance obviously, so I had to pick up state insurance and that's when everything changed, so I am giving Joel and sono dental three thumbs down and I will be telling everyone that I know not to use them!!!!!

They treated my tooth like 4 months ago. Said they were going to get an approval from my insurance for a root canal. Safe to say they forgot. I need it pulled. It's an emergency and rotted out. I need to work to afford the CO pay... But they can't schedule me sooner to pull the tooth they dropped the ball on.... Then they start giving me attitude about it. Never go here. Never trust them with your teeth

To say I am extremely disappointed would be an understatement. I have been using this practice for over 5 years now! After my last visit, I have never been so disrespected, by a supposed "professional" business, in my entire life. When I initially found Sono Dental, the management was completely different than the so-called current management. I even referred multiple family members in the past, but after having similar experiences, they will never go back! They worry more about their overall reputation than the well-being of their patients. It's definitely a red flag when most of the comments are all five stars, and say pretty much the same thing. You know something is suspect when a business goes to the extent of purchasing good reviews. What a complete and utter disgrace. Please do yourself a favor and do not even attempt to try this place.

Came here for a few teeth cleanings and cavity removals. Easy and fast place. The staff are professional and friendly. If you have a problem, there's no bizarre amounts of red tape you need to cut through to get it resolved. Wait times are minimal. P.S. One of the front desk guys is filthy rich because of cryptocurrency so be sure to suck up to him ;)
