Born in India, Dr. Ravi Soni moved to the USA with his family when he was only a child. Since then, he has enjoyed living in different areas in Florida but chose to settle in Clearwater. He desires to help those in his local communities, solve their dental problems, and make sure they enjoy visiting the dentist.
His main inspiration for becoming a dentist was to provide the type of care his family could never afford when he was growing up. He saw how dentistry can help others be healthy and enjoy life. Now, he combines his knowledge, passion, and love for technology, so his patients can benefit from high-level dental care, free of discomfort or anxiety.
Dr. Soni founded Soni Smiles General and Implant Dentistry to create a practice where he could dedicate quality time and develop close relationships with every patient. Whether it is relieving your pain, improving your appearance, or boosting your health, Dr. Soni will look after you like he would his own family. He strives to implement new technology to make your visit more comfortable as he provides you with exceptional results.
Dr. Soni has always tried to assist people and to give back to others. Between his university and dental school studies, he was a supplemental instructor at A State College, where he helped students with subjects in general/organic chemistry and physics. Today, his love for teaching translates into understandable education for his patients.
Another way he gives back is by volunteering every month at local free dental clinics for those who cannot afford high-quality dental care. In addition, Dr. Soni has attended multiple humanitarian dental mission trips abroad over the last five years.

I would not recommend this dentist AT ALL. They quoted me one price, but changed the price when they had already given me an anesthesia. He insisted I needed a crown, when I know I did not need one. MY real dentist also confirmed that he used second grade material on my tooth...maybe so that my filling would fall off and I would have to come back. Either they do not know what they are doing or he's not honest....whichever the answer is...That's enough for me not to ever want to come back! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Welcoming and friendly staff, always. They know just where to put their hands.. when cleaning your teeth (get your mind out of the gutter). Very dog friendly office, but I must warn you.. Be careful about bringing your dog there, you may not get it back! I had to fight off the hygienist like she was pulling a tooth. Anyway, I digress, Soni Smiles will leave you smiling! Today I visited SoniSmile office for the first time I was in pain and unhappy. I cannot appropriately express my thankfulness to Dr. Soni and his entire friendly staff for making feel comfortable and confident that my dental health is important to care. After a complete and gentle X-rays by Crystal Dr Soni explained every detail of the condition of my mouth. Tomorrow my treatment will start! I am so happy

Very likely paying for bad reviews to be removed. Look around- you'll find complaints similar to mine. I'll try to keep this short and sweet. Do also notice that every bad review, the "dr" comments back in a snarky, condescending, unprofessional manor. I can't wait to here from him, more to report to the board of dentistry. Red flags from the start. I heard the front desk urging an elderly woman to cancel her dental insurance (which she kept saying she wasn't comfortable doing) and to sign up for their dental plan. The hygienist was wildly unprofessional, asking me for diet advice and workout advice after I told her I was a personal trainer. She was making unprofessional comments and joke. I'm 26 and very laid back- and even I found it super weird. She took nearly 30 min to take my X-rays and 30 to do my cleaning. While reviewing my X-rays (which she shouldn't have even been doing) she goes "oh you need your wisdom teeth out... good luck with that. I refuse to get mine out because the surgery is so horrible." Exactly what a patient with dental anxiety wants to hear. Love it. I was there for nearly 2 hours and left with such severe TMJ symptoms I had to eat a soft food diet for 4 weeks and see a TMJ specialist. The "dr" came in and didn't even make eye contact with me. He was aggressive, pulled on my tongue (???? Why) and was arguing with the hygienist. He urged her I needed a deep cleaning and the hygienist refused, saying my teeth were fine. This all went down in front of me. Clearly annoyed with the hygienist, the doctor starts shouting out numbers (they indicate molars and other teeth) at the hygienist. He spent maybe 90 seconds looking at my teeth/ X-rays before declaring I had TEN cavities and was "steps away from root canal". He then goes- "do you use tobacco" which I bad already said NO to on my chart. I'm healthy, I don't smoke, and that was out of line. Clearly shocked I told him I was 26 and never have had issues with my teeth like that. I said I had only had a few fillings done as a kid and he told me "your parents lied to you" because I had 4 fillings. Absolutely the most condescending, snide, awful human I've ever spoken to in the medical field. I left the office in tears. His plan of care even with insurance would've cost me over 500$, my jaw was sore, the entire experience was genuinely traumatic. The level of anxiety I felt after this appointment was crippling, all I could think about was the dental work in my future and how my jaw would react to the work I needed. In the meantime I sent my X-rays to my cousin who is a dentist and my OG dentist from Fort Lauderdale. Both said they saw NO SIGNS of cavities on ANY of my teeth. Fast forward to yesterday. I saw a dentist in the area with stellar reviews. They were gentle, kind, and understanding. They agreed that there were no visible cavities and disagreed with 90% of Soni's "plan of care." I had three, surface level cavities that the dentist said didn't require immediate attention, but he could clean out if I wanted same day. I said yes and he cleared the three baby cavities with no anesthetic. 0 pain. Took him 20 min and he joked and laughed with me the entire time. I cannot even begin to explain how much stress this dentistry practice caused me at Soni smiles. I'm confident they will be out of business soon. But I will be reporting them to the BBB, The Florida board of dentistry, my insurance company, and spreading awareness through social media, Yelp, google reviews, ect. They messed with the wrong person. I'm young- but I'm not an idiot.

From the moment you walk in Soni Smiles and Heather greets you with a warm smile and encouraging words, you feel like you are amongst friends. Emily is by far the best hygienist I have ever had! Her positive energy and sweet demeanor coupled with such experience and knowledge put even the most anxious at ease. Dr. Soni provides the confidence/knowledge to assure you are getting the most professional care possible. I have found my dentist and practice for life! Could not recommend more!

I had a very unpleasant experience at this place. It made me scared of dentists. They didn't want to do a deep cleaning for me they told me I have to spend thousands of dollars on fillings before they will do a deep cleaning. Pulling a wisdom tooth was traumatic, they didn't want to put me to sleep even though I asked for it. Only an area anesthesia, the procedure was long and very uncomfortable.

Really liked this place. Got a good vibe as soon as I walked in the door. The staff was friendly, professional and informative. I went in for a checkup, xrays and cleaning and everything went smooth (no waiting) and felt at ease the whole time. Thanks Dr. Soni and staff.

It's always a pleasure to do business at Soni Smiles. I had been avoiding going to the dentist for too many years. I don't like pain! I'm glad that I found this dentist. Dr. Soni is great and he understands and listens to his patients/me. Every visit has been good as we work on getting my teeth back into good condition. The staff is great also. Heather greets me and always with a smile. She's the one who handles the front desk and makes appointments etc. I can tell she likes her job and always feel welcome coming in. Emily is the hygienist who's been deep cleaning my teeth. She's great also! I feel comfortable as she gently works on getting my teeth and gums back into a better condition.
