Dr. Nassiris interest in pediatric dentistry and orthodontics is deeply rooted in his commitment to improve peoples lives. He has over a decade of experience in childrens dental care and has successfully treated over 3,000 children under general anesthesia. He has also provided orthodontic treatment to more than a thousand adults and children.Dr. Nassiri completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California, Berkeley, and double majored in Mechanical Engineering and Material Science. He then worked as a refinery engineer for Chevron in Point Richmond. He changed careers because of his interest in patient care. He wanted a professional career that would allow him to serve his community. He pursued his dental training at the prestigious University of California, San Francisco, where he graduated with honors, ranking in the top tier of his class. He received numerous awards and scholarships.
After graduation from dental school, Dr. Nassiri provided dental care for children and young adults with disabilities at La Clinica de La Raza, Salida Surgery Center and Pediatric Dental Initiative. He also served as a clinical instructor at the UCSF School of Dentistry. He has extensive experience treating both adults and children. He has also been involved in several research projects and given numerous lectures in Biomaterials.
Dr. Nassiri attended the highly regarded orthodontic program at the University of the Pacific, in San Francisco, where he earned his Certificate of Specialty in Orthodontics and a Master of Science in Dentistry. He passed the written orthodontic board examination, achieving the highest score among his co-residents, and is currently board eligible.Dr. Nassiri believes that creating healthy, beautiful smiles involves a multidisciplinary approach. He evaluates the whole face as well as the airway, skeletal, periodontal and dental conditions when choosing the most suitable treatment options for his patients. His approach to orthodontics involves non-extraction treatment whenever possible as well occasional extraction and surgical treatment to achieve beautifully balanced faces, full smiles and healthy bites. Dr. Nassiri is a hands-on clinician who gives personal attention to every patient at each visit.Dr. Nassiri has been happily married since 1996. He met his wife during their undergraduate studies at UC Berkeley. They have twin toddlers that they adore very much. They also have four little dogs and two cats! When not at work, Dr. Nassiri enjoys spending time with his family, exercising, playing music, and cooking.
Dr. Joel Pedersen attended Pacific Union College in Napa for his undergraduate studies. He completed dental school at Loma Linda University, and graduated with his D.D.S. in 2004 and immediately entered into an anesthesia residency at Loma Linda. Upon graduation from residency in 2006, Dr. Pedersen moved back to Northern California and began his full-time private practice of anesthesia.
Dr. Pedersen primarily treats children and has extensive experience providing in-office anesthesia services. He has successfully provided anesthesia for thousands of children requiring extensive dental treatment. He is caring and treats every child as he would treat his own.
Dr. Pedersen provides all the anesthesia services for Solano Smile Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry.Dr. Pedersen is happily married and has three beautiful children. In his spare time, he likes to hike, attend sporting events, and enjoys wine tasting in Napa.
Dr. Mahnaz Heydari completed her undergraduate studies at the University of California, Berkeley with a degree in Molecular Cellular Biology. She received her Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco.
Dr. Heydari began her professional career providing dental care for adults and children in a private practice in East Bay and at La Clinica De La Raza in Oakland and Vallejo. At La Clinica she developed her commitment to children who face economic and cultural obstacles to essential dental care. Dr. Heydari participated in several outreach programs in Solano County where she provided dental care for low-income and uninsured children. Dr. Heydari received the outstanding employee award from the Community Clinic Consortium; she also received a certificate of special recognition from Congressman John Garamendi for her dedicated work in providing oral health.
The six years she provided dental care for children and young adults at La Clinica helped form Dr. Heydaris commitment to pediatric dentistry. In 2012, Dr. Heydari returned to postgraduate school and completed her pediatric residency at the Lutheran Medical Center-Rady Childrens Hospital in San Diego where she also served as the chief resident.Since the completion of her pediatric dental specialty training, Dr. Heydari has been treating children at UCSF Benioff Childrens Hospital in Oakland, and La Clinica. She is also proud to have joined the Solano Smile Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistrys group practice.
Other than pediatric dentistry, Dr. Heydaris interests include Persian calligraphy, painting, and hiking. Being out in Nature has always been a source of pleasure and peace for her. She also enjoys exploring different restaurants and watching movies.
