Dr. Skinner attended Luther College for his undergraduate education and was accepted early to the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, where he obtained his dental degree. He then served an externship at Broad Lawns Dental Clinic and worked as an associate dentist before opening his own practice.
Since his graduation from dental school in 1997, Dr. Skinner has engaged in extensive postgraduate education. This has encompassed a broad range of topics, from orthodontics to dental implants and more. He has obtained certifications in IV sedation, Invisalign clear aligners, advanced rotary endodontics (root canal therapy), and BioLase laser treatment. His commitment to lifelong education allows him to provide his patients with the best results in the least invasive manner with a high emphasis on comfort and ensures the highest level of care, both today and tomorrow.
Dr. Skinner is a very active participant in the community. He volunteers with Habitat for Humanity and Meals from the Heartland and participates in an annual day of free treatment for veterans. He also donates free dental care to the local needy through Donated Dental Services and is involved with organizations dedicated to feeding and clothing the homeless/less fortunate.

Karen grew up in Chariton and lives in Ankeny with her husband and daughters. She graduated from the DMACC dental assisting program and has been in the dental field for over 30 years 22 years as a dental assistant and 10 as a business assistant. In her free time, Karen enjoys being outside, taking walks, camping, and spending time with family and friends. She loves meeting new people and helping them obtain beautiful and healthy smiles.
Beth is a 2007 graduate of the DMACC Dental Hygiene program. Prior to her entry into hygiene, she worked as a dental assistant and has been in the dental field since 1999. Her main goal as a hygienist is to give care to patients in a calm and caring atmosphere where their comfort and well-being is the main concern. Beths hobbies include live concerts, gardening, and reading. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling with her son for hockey, vacations to the beach, and spending time with friends and family.
