Dr. Janki, DDS was born in Mumbai, India, where she obtained a Bachelors in dental surgery from prestigious Govt. Dental College and Hospital in Mumbai; She then moved to the United States, to complete her dental education at the University of Colorado in 2016, College of Dentistry, where she received a Doctorate in Dental Surgery.
She continues to keep up-to -date with her education and changes in dentistry by attending continuing education courses in cosmetic and restorative dentistry. She is fluent in Hindi, Marathi and Gujarati, and outside the dental office, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Dr. Tabasom Rafi DDS graduated from UCLA college with honors. She then attended UCSF school of dentistry and obtained her doctorate of dental surgery. Dr. Rafi is Licensed in both California and Pennsylvania and is a provider of minimally invasive, conservative, and aesthetic dental work. She has completed several courses on advanced cosmetic dentistry and performs procedures such as implant restorations, smile reconstructions, porcelain veneers, and full mouth rehabilitations combining direct and indirect restorative dentistry.
Dr. Rafi is enthusiastic and passionate about dentistry and believes in combining art and science while delivering only the highest quality treatments for her patients. Dr. Rafi is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and American Academy of Facial Esthetics. Dr. Rafi enjoys traveling and experiencing different cultures and is passionate about reaching out to underserved areas with the aim of making health care accessible to all.
We are a team of caring dental healthcare professionals, providing Comprehensive, Cosmetic and Implant Dentistry in a state-of-the-art dental office. Established for over 30 years, our full-time team includes 4 dentists, 3 dental assistants, 1 expanded functions dental assistant (EFDA), 5 dental hygienists, a 3-member front desk staff, and an office manager.
Our 4,000sf, newly renovated office is conveniently located in Suite 610 of The Bourse Building. It includes 8 comfortable operatories with dual monitor computers, an in-office cone beam CT scanner, and digital x-ray technology.

If you love your teeth, get to Society Hill Dental! They believe in and practice proactive dentistry and my visit today with Dr. Tabasom Rafi was in a word...A W E S OM E! No pain, great conversation with Miss Shaneice and Dr. Rafi as well. Besides being great technicians, they are GOOD PEOPLE! They replaced a US Navy installed crown with a temporary, scheduled the return to have the replacement in, and all went as planned. Visit with confidence, regrets will be none! I was a loyal customer for 8 years. The first 6 years were great. In the past two years, I've had THREE fillings fall out within 2 months of the procedure. The last time I got a cavity filling, I was also told I needed a mouth guard. This was unexpected, but I decided to trust them. Then 5 days later, the filling fell out, so I went to a different dentist to replace it. During that appointment, he confirmed my suspicion that there was no evidence of a need for a mouth guard. Society Hill Dental used to be amazing. Now, there is lots of turnover in their staff, shoddy work, and they clearly just are pushing a profit. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I wish I could go back two years to avoid potentially useless procedures and not have to endure 3 faulty fillings with no refund involved.

I like this dental location. The service is great. The people are really nice. The only thing I don't like is they change the cost of things sometimes. Get the right cost at the beginning so there aren't any surprises to the consumer.

Excellent experience in my first appointment at Society Hill Dental. Everything was on time and seamless. Only issue was finding the office itself. You have to check in with the security guard on the 4th street side of the building who will let you up into the elevator.

I have been coming to this dentist for over 30 years,never ever had a problem,staff was very caring,professional,and delightful to see and enter act with,over the years new dentist have come and gone,but each one I ever had a chance to meet and deal with were wonderful treating me with care,concern and giving good advice pertaining to my teeth ,my appointment on 8/30/22 was going great for me,until the end when a new individual meeting for the first time approached me,everything in me became unsettled,the way I was questioned about my meds i have always taken before my visits,was like I was a 10year old,not knowing why I'm taking them,I stated because of health issues and a number of surgeries I have had it was advised I continue taking the medication before my dentist appointment,but the way I was treated makes me wonder if I and my family need to fine another dentist at this point ,I will never want this type of behavior from a new dentist to be projected on myself or any other members of my family.

I come to Society Hill Dental because of the Hygienist. I'm from the Philly area; however, now I'm living on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and it is still worth the drive (90 minutes each way). Corinne is exceptional, whether she's listening to my personal history, or maintaining her focus during her procedures, I always feel like I'm getting better than excellent treatments and I feel like my dental condition has improved over the years as well. Over the years, I've been to my share of dental practices, but this one's a keeper'.

I'm switching because they do NOT tell you any costs upfront. I was never informed that my insurance was not going to cover a specific filling finish and received a surprise bill of $200. A previous time, they submitted my claim wrong so they were incorrectly charging me for something that my insurance would've covered. It took months to resolve. I was experiencing anxiety before a procedure and the dentist spoke to me in a tone like I was a child. Please tell patients what their insurance will cover upfront!

Just had my first visit to this practice and it was a great experience. They took my information online before I got in, so I didn't have to do any paperwork at all! Everyone were welcoming and knowledgeable, and the office was very up to date and clean. Would recommend!

I was there for a cleaning. My dental hygienist was friendly and helped me to my seat -- the furthest one in the office. She then proceeded to clean my teeth -- gently and with no pain.

Check your bills before you pay them!!! We received a bill for my husband's dental service in which the office charged a higher price than the negotiated insurance amount. My husband would have blindly paid the bill, trusting it was correct. I always check the bills against the insurance EOBs before payment. I noticed they were charging a higher rate than the negotiated rate. After confirming with my insurance company that this was a breach of their contract - since they were an in network dentist, they are obligated to accept the rate the insurance company negotiated - I called to inquire about the bill. A few hours later we received an updated bill via email - with the correct amounts - and they cited there has been an "update on our service". This rubs me the wrong way for many reasons but especially because these predatory billing practices are likely fooling people who don't check their bills closely! Buyer beware.
