I broke my tooth over the weekend, and they were able to make a new crown for me the same day as I called them on the Monday after. This was so great and convenient because they saw me the same day as I called them and also fixed my tooth the same day. With other dentists, they put a temporary crown on and you have to come back on another day to get the crown. I highly recommend Dr. Karafin and Socal Smiles in RSM.

Terrible customer service "front office people" gives the Doctor bad reputation. Now even medical professional start steeling from their patient. Went for deep cleaning and it was anything but a deep cleaning. They convinced me to have laser done after deep cleaning. Cost me $240 which they charged me twice. They got paid $240 from the insurance and then they charged my HAS card another $240. I called the front office and she refused to refund me back the $240. What a way to lose a patient just for $240. Doctor's need to train their front office people better because the Doctors get their reputation ruined by them.

We had a wonderful experience with Dr. T, the staff was very friendly, thorough and accommodating. My son has autism and finding the right Dentist has been tough. We were happy to find a place that we are very comfortable, and we have established care. Thank you!

I've been going to SoCal Smiles for a few years now. I was supposed to have my 6 month checkup/cleaning back in October, but I had to cancel since I was out of town. I called yesterday, and I was able to get an appointment for Monday. Not long after I called, I got a text from Stephanie (who I had spoken with for the appointment) and she told me she had a cancellation for today, and would I like to take it? I thought that was great service! At the office today, I was happy to see that everyone was wearing masks (unless they were in the dental chair getting work done, of course). Kathryn was my hygienist, and she was delightful! She was personable, knowledgeable, and explained some things to me that I wasn't aware of. And I did meet Stephanie, who cheerfully checked me out and made my next appointment. There was no attempt to upsell any additional services, like teeth whitening. And I know from my past experience there, that they are using the latest technology when it comes to doing crowns and to do a 3d photo type impression of my teeth, rather than the uncomfortable putty mold that another dentist used on me. All in all, today was a pleasant, comfortable experience, and I recommend them highly.

I was nervous to see a new dentist after going to my dad's dental practice my whole life. When I moved away from home, I had to find a new dentist and found Dr. Karafin's office. I have now been with the practice for a year. Dr. Karafin provided great care and is very easy to talk to. His wonderful front office staff are helpful and friendly. Katherine, the hygienist, was also lovely to talk to and did a great job of checking in to see how I was doing. She provided great care and also provided excellent suggestions of better ways to specifically care for my teeth. I highly recommend this office!

I think there is some shady shady business going on here. On September 18th, 2017, Dr. Scott put in an onlay on my tooth. It broke--this is after I had another incidence of trouble with his work before so I decided to go to Penrod Dental (MUCH better by the way). I had the crown done, and it was great. I received a bill later from my insurance saying that I had a crown done earlier with Dr. Scott. It turns out SoCal Smiles billed my onlay as a crown incorrectly. I am trying to correct the issue now, since the error means I owe a lot but Lupe at SoCal Smiles claims that my insurance company said they didn't need to correct the issue. When I called in, the insurance company of course wanted a correct billing and offered to three-way call SoCal Smiles. SoCal Smiles is now ignoring my calls! I called four times! This is so incredibly shady! I suspect a ton of fraud is happening. Full disclosure: I have started a grievance process with the insurance company and I plan to forward all this information to the state insurance commissioner as well. SoCal Smiles needs to be held responsible for this their fraudulent practices.

I am an anxious dental patient. The necessity had arisen for a root canal and I was trepidatious to say the least. I couldn't have been in a better place than in the hands of Dr. Karafin and his staff. My procedure took a long time, not because of the staff, anytime I showed the slightest uneasiness Dr. Karafin would allow me to gather myself and administer more nitrous or lydocane or just a cup of water. I shopped around for a good office, not just a great dentist. I am a mom of 3 and a wife, we have a lot of teeth lol! Dori, Stephanie, and Miguel were amazing as well getting all my paperwork and prep work done. After all was said and done Dr Karafin even called me, after hours, to make sure I was doing well. I have read another review referencing a lack of compassion from Dr Karafin and I found him to be an honest, hardworking family man. I needed a lot of coddling and that is what I received. I couldn't get a sitter for the fitting of my crown and there was my 4 year old, right in the Dr's face while he worked and he couldn't have been more patient. Great job you guys! Gear up I'm bringing A LOT of teeth your way!

I've put off writing this review because I didn't want to rehash the bad memory with Dr. Karafin and I don't like writing negative reviews. This review is not a reflection on Dr. G. Dr. G was awesome and we were sad to see him go and hopeful that the new dentist would be just as awesome. We gave it two shots. Both times we were very disappointed in Dr. Karafin's lack of empathy with my son and then also with myself. Kudos to the helpful office staff.

DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU LIKE OC HOUSEWIVES! The office manager, Janene, has nothing better to do than gossip about the patients/my children sitting in the waiting room. Who would ever want to bring their kids there? I wouldn't be surprised if she's scamming Dr. Karafin like she has been for over 7 years with Dr. Mahajan at Tustin Smile Care. Other than that, love the hygienists they are very friendly! I would highly reccomend Santa Margarita Dental Group!! The WHOLE staff is professional and helpful to my family's needs.

WE HAVE been with Dr. Karafin for years and with DR. G prior to that. We have been very happy with the service we have been given by Dr . K and his staff. Their prices are reasonable...they are willing to work with you financially regarding costs and the work is impeccable. We loved DR. G as well but overall have felt very happy with Dr. Karafin - they have done a through job for my family and are very understanding about our family budget and very thorough in their treatments for our maximum dental health. We would highly recommend Dr. K and his staff to anyone who needs good, honest dental care.
