Dr. Snyder is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthodontics, a distinction handed out by a panel of expert orthodontists and earned by demonstrating his extraordinary skills and knowledge in orthodontics.
Dr. Edward Snyder was born in Salem Virginia. He attended Hampden-Sydney College and graduated with a B.S. degree in Chemistry. He then attended Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia and earned a Doctorate in Dental Surgery (D.D.S.). After graduation from dental school Dr. Snyder practiced as a family dentist for 3 years and taught childrens dentistry at the VCU dental school for 2 years. He then attended the Eastman School of Dentistry/University of Rochesters orthodontic program for 2 years and was awarded a Certificate in Orthodontics.
Dr. Snyder opened his practice in Martinsville and 3 years later bought Dr. Gordon Woodys practice in Danville, which was the oldest orthodontic practice in Southside Virginia. A few years later he took over Dr. Byrums Martinsville practice when Dr. Byrum retired. In 1995 Dr. Snyder earned his Orthodontic Board Certification. Dr. Snyder is a Fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy, the American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists. His professional memberships include The American Dental Association, The American Association of Orthodontists, The Virginia Dental Association, The Virginia Association of Orthodontists, The Patrick Henry Dental Society and the Roanoke Valley Orthodontic Study Club. Dr. Snyder has often been voted by other dentists and received the Top Dentist award.
Dr. Snyder is currently the Virginia Delegate to the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) and he recently published an editorial in the American Journal of Orthodontists and Dentofacial Orthopedics titled The Principles of an Ethical Practice.Read Dr. Snyders article.
Dr. Snyder is married to Kim Kiser Snyder. Dr. Snyder and Kim have three children and recently expanding his family with grandchildren whom he loves spending time with. When Dr. Snyder is not in the office, he enjoys spending time outside and playing golf when time allows.

I heard y'all was really great and I heard y'all take 18 year olds that wants braces to close the gap and fix the overbite but my bottom and top teeth is straight but I have a gap at the top and bottom.

I'm a near 14 year old teenager who is a patient here and I have to say that Snyder Orthodontics is a wonderful place to get braces. Also, the atmosphere, the staff, and Dr. Snyder himself are very nice people. Health and safety wise, it's excellent. I give a review of 5/5 stars.

3 family members have been cared for by Dr. Snyder and the wonderful staff. They make you feel comfortable as soon as you walk into their office. Once your treatment is complete, your smile looks beautiful. They are the absolute Best!

I had a super Dash great experience with Dr. Snyder and with the entire staff at Snyder orthodontics! I just got my braces off after almost 25 months, and my teeth look terrific! The staff is always friendly, always helpful, always very professional, and they do a wonderful job of correcting misaligned teeth and bad bites.

I love Snyder orthodontist. They give me great feedback for my teeth and the ladies that do my braces are very nice and they adjust to my standards. Dr. Snyder is the absolute G.O.A.T!!!. (Greatest of all time) but he is very nice and knows what he is doing. I always look forward going to my orthodontist appt.

Highly recommend Snyder Orthodontics! They have been great to work with throughout my son's numerous visits. They have been patient even when my son hasn't been 100% compliant with wearing his rubber bands. They have taken time to explain to my 15 year old son the importance of wearing the rubber bands to complete the orthodontic work. Dr. Snyder and his staff are the best!
