Born and raised in Albuquerque, Dr. Joseph Snyder has been providing exceptional dentistry in Alamogordo since 1996. A 1980 dental graduate of Baylor College of Dentistry, Dr. Snyder received his undergraduate education at the University of New Mexico, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1977.
In order to offer the highest quality dental care, Dr. Snyder continues his education and has achieved Mastership status in the AGD, which requires over 1000 hours of continuing education classes and passing a rigorous comprehensive exam.
Dr. Snyder served for 16 years in the United States Air Force. Prior to establishing his practice in Alamogordo, he served at Holloman Air Force Base for two years. While on active duty, Dr. Snyder completed a two-year general dentistry residency. He is currently a member in good standing of the American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry.
As a dentist, Dr. Snyder aims to help his patients maintain optimal oral health. In addition, he provides compassionate, comprehensive care that you can trust. With his experience, talent, and care, he can help you achieve the radiant, healthy smile that you have always wanted.
Dr. Snyder has been married to the love of his life, Laura, for 37 years. They have one son, Jonathan, and one daughter, Julia. She is a recent graduate of Abilene Christian University and is currently employed as a Medical Assistant in Abilene. Jonathan is a graduate student at the University of Southern Mississippi, where he is currently working on his Doctorate degree. When hes not working on your smile, you can find Dr. Snyder playing the banjo in a bluegrass band, Simple Gifts.

I absolutely love this dentist and his staff. they are kind, caring and timely. I am always greeted and welcomed with a smile, I have never waited longer than 5 minutes. I trust Dr Snyder and his office is always calm and clean. He is definitely the most gentle dentist I have ever met!

I retired in 2019 and relocated to Alamogordo from the East Coast. I needed a dentist and contacted Dr. Snyder's office regarding my situation. They were responsive and professional. Dr. Snyder has performed two extractions, the most recent last week. I couldn't be more pleased with both procedures. I've had flu shots that hurt more than the extractions. I haven't had any issues and virtually no pain or even soreness after the extractions. If you're in need of professional dental care I highly recommend Dr. Snyder and his courteous staff!

I came to Dr. Snyder after being told by another dentist in Alamogordo that I needed a $850 crown on a tooth that had a chip, but didn't have decay or pain. His staff is super friendly, his office is quaint, and Dr. Snyder is really nice, experienced, and knowledgeable. He fixed my chipped tooth and all was great!

Today I got a crown done and this was by far the best experience I have ever had. For the past two weeks, my insurance has called me to tell me that they have denied my claim to cover my crown. Being in so much pain, I still had to get it done BUT his office is not taking no for an answer! His team treated me like a real person and made sure that I felt safe for the entire two hour process. I truly left with a smile on my face. If you are in the process or still looking for a good dentist, look no further! I can't say thank you enough to his amazing team.

Knowledgeable, competent staff. Everyone is very friendly. Had a major procedure done yesterday with no pain today. Highly recommended. The gal that processes their insurance claims is so good at her job!

Love Dr. Snyder and all his staff! They go above and beyond to make my kids feel safe and welcome. My 2 year has absolutely no fear of the Dentist, and that is so important this early in her life. My family wouldn't go anywhere else for our dental needs!!

Me and my 3 kids really like Dr. Synder he is very nice and the dental hygienist are nice as well. They make it easy for me to take my 3 kids to the dentist every 6 months and my kids get a toy after every visit .

My child was seen here recently and she didn't even see the actual Dentist for her very first check up. For a about 2 minutes of barely looking in my child's mouth by a hygienist, along with a bag of tooth paste and toothbrush..we were charged $63. I would have thought that since the hygienist didn't really do anything she would just say...hey she didn't really cooperate today we'll just see her next time and just consider it an introductory visit, she not only charged us but also recommended for us to come back every 6 months. On top of that the front staff was more concerned, I felt, by a guy selling fruits out of his truck and getting deals/tasting his fruits. I expected a more professional office by not entertaining solicitors...because that really cheapened the experience on top of just wanting our money vs being about the patient and doing the right thing! Very disappointing.
