Dr. Rosemary Villa studied Biology with an emphasis in chemistry at Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, Illinois. In college, she was on the swim team, a researcher in the biology department, and a volunteer in college-based & community service activities.
Dr. Rosemary Villa attended the top-ranked Northwestern University Dental School in Chicago, Illinois. She then attended and later taught at Cook County Hospital Residency Program, one of the most highly regarded residency programs in the country.
Throughout her 30 plus year career, she continues in the field of Special Needs dentistry and advocates for access to care for those with intellectual & developmental challenges and medical limitations.
Dr. Villa is a member of the American Dental Society, Illinois Dental Society, Special Care Dentistry Association as well as other academies and societies. Dr Villa lectures when time permits and has mentored students as an Adjunct Professor of both Midwestern and the University of Illinois at Chicago dental schools. Dr Rosemary Villa has been featured in articles and is the recipient of esteemed awards recognizing her professional achievements. She has a Mastership in Academy of General Dentistry and Fellowship to International College of Dentistry, The Academy of Dentistry International, and the Pierre Fauchard Academy placing Dr Rosemary Villa among the top 5%.
Juan Morales created a collaboration with Smyles & Company and The Stephen Siller Tunnel To Towers Foundation in supporting catastrophically injured veterans, first responders, and their the families.
He, his wife (Dr Rosemary Villa), and his blinged out Harley Davidson Trike fundraise for nonprofit charities like 'Illinois State Police 'Lt. Rich Kozik' Memorial Park Ride', 'Ride for Autism Speaks' and Ride To Remember - 9/11 Ride'.

I had drove to Smyles & Company from Rockford, which is about a hour away! We had such a great time! Any hesitation my daughter had about the scariness of the dentist was quickly gone!

The doctor was very thorough and personable! I appreciate the thoughtfulness on preventative care. My hygienist Laura was awesome as well! After a bad experience at another local dentist this is exactly what I was looking for!

Smyles Dental is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! My daughter has trouble trusting any doctor and relaxing when it comes to actually doing what needs to be done on her teeth and Dr. Rosemary, Nurse Laura and the rest of her crew really helped my daughter in trusting them to help get the job done. Even when she became frustrated and flustered again, they used positivity and each other to help get things done. I have been sent away from so many dental offices because they can't do it and she's not "calm enough". I've even had dentist try to get me as the parent to hold her down while they configure with all these crazy tools. Today they really reassured me that even though it may be tough they will do what it takes to help my daughter and also help me trust them as a parent! I am so so thankful that we came here to see these ladies! I would give them 10 starts if I could! Highly highly recommended if you have a child that has trouble relaxing and trusting others.

First appointment was great!! Treatment plan was explained throughly. My son played in the room next door while they explained the treatment plan. While the dentist was looking in my son's mouth she used very kind words to make him feel comfortable! I'm looking forward to next visit. Great team and great office.

I loved Dr. Villa for my daughter she was great. What I didn't appreciate is that they charged me a $150.00 administration fee to file paperwork for a procedure with sedation that should be covered 5 times a day at 15 minute increments through her dental plan. Code D9223 deep sedation general anesthesia. To my surprise their anesthesiologist doesn't bill my daughter's insurance company and they wanted $1,500 up front no payment plan 2 weeks before her appointment, and I could send it to the insurance company! Smyles & Co. didn't tell us this up front. My daughter is on a fixed income and cannot afford that! I don't have that kind of money either! She's on medicaid for a reason! Low income or no income! They really need to communicate that information before booking the appointment, and charging the fees. Thankfully they are refunding the deposit back to me, but now I'm back to square 1 to finding a new dentist that is covered by this plan. So disappointing because my daughter was looking forward to having her dental work all done all at once, and be pain free. Now she has to be in pain until we find someone else. Being a medicaid client that will probably take months.

After looking for several months for a Dentist to help my 9yr old who is need of a specialist, I was blessed to meet Dr. Villa and Laura. They were amazing and took care of my son. I was also amazed to see they had a sensory room which is great for my 4yr old. We have just found our new dentist for the kids and will gladly drive the 45 min for the excellent care they have provided.
