Nish Patel, DDS, is a general, cosmetic, and restorative dentist at Smyl Manatee in Bradenton, Florida. After growing up in India and completing some of his education and early practice there, Dr. Patel has dedicated his time and skills to serving families and individuals in the Bradenton area.
Dr. Patel holds two dental degrees and has continued his education and training throughout his career. He initially graduated with his bachelors degree in India before moving to the United States to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the prestigious University at Buffalo in Buffalo, New York. There, he graduated magna cum laude with thesis honors.
After graduating, Dr. Patel continued his education with a general practice residency at Staten Island University Hospital in Staten Island, New York. I came here for the first time and had pain on one of my molars. The doctor squeezed me into his busy schedule, examined me and took care of my aching molar. The staff was very welcoming and explained things thoroughly. Dr. Patel was very gentle during my procedure and gave me wonderful post surgery instructions. This place is very professional and I would definitely recommend it!

I'm ashamed to smile after going in debt $15k my crowns that they gave me don't even match each other! To top it off the dentist Dr Patel has refused to speak to me about the situation. Instead has just ignored me...so this is my last attempt to get something done. I'm on disability and can't afford another bill. Let alone the ridiculous one for this terrible smile that is grey, peach, and yellow thanks to Dr Patel

Everyone is caring and made me comfortable. Each person that has been a part of my work so far has been kind and answered any questions I've had along the way. The dentist has been informative and he has done an amazing job. The results so far are fantastic and I have had little discomfort if any through some fairly major and extensive procedures. And he called personally to follow up and leave his cell number after the initial work and sedation. The team is great

Look at other one star reviews and you will know this place is a scam. This is by far the worst experience I've ever had with any healthcare office. They did not explain what was being done to me in detail at any point. They pushed the treatment on me and then denied providing any sort of explanation afterwards. They rush everything and don't care about any previous treatment done - no one even tried to ask or obtain my previous dental records. I was not told beforehand how much anything would cost at all. Their "customer service coordinator" Mobeen treated me like trash throughout this whole thing and tried to threaten me with "6 lawyers we keep in the back". Which is embarrassing because which dentist needs 6 lawyers unless you are scamming people. Instead of trying to help me or trying to work on a finance plan he charged me over $2000 before I even received half of my services. No cancellation policy or return policy was explained to me. The only reason I initially agreed was because the doctor made me feel like I had no choice but to get this done or be in pain, no options. And of course there is this sort of vulnerability you have as a patient where you will believe anything the doctor tells you, and I regret listening to anything said to me in this office. They used my pain and anxiety to basically try to corner me. No one did any dental cleaning of any sort even though their computer summary showed they were including it. The doctor also basically handed me/put right into my hands a temporary nightguard saying to wear it just for a week - one of those cheap plastic disposable guards without saying I would get charged for it. When I took it out of my bag along with the receipt in the evening just to check - and thank God I did because they tried to charge me $481 for something that costs $20 on the official website for that same thing. I understand the upcharge when you go get the treatment but 20 times the price is ridiculous. Their office blew me off when I tried to ask for clarification or to cancel my appt. I had to partially dispute the charge with my bank because no one was getting back to me and they REFUSED to cancel my future appt. I literally had to go there in person with my father to even try to get any explanation. Thankfully I recorded the conversation for myself to listen afterwards, because Mobeen was lying through his teeth and talking down to me the whole time. Their only concern was to have me cancel the dispute with the bank which I was not going to do unless they refunded me themselves. I took time out of my day to go there and give them a chance to provide an explanation. Their billing person does not even know what each service is for and can't explain the amount charged. I called my bank again and explained everything to them. They said it's very common shady scammer techniques and to not accept any refunds from them as they will attempt to get it back. DON'T agree to anything they tell you. DO NOT sign anything they give you. Only when the dispute went through is when all of a sudden they started calling me everyday to try to get me to sign some shady "legal" paperwork. Oh and they never provided me with my medical records which I requested weeks ago (and they said I will get in about 24-48 hrs). I already placed a complaint with my insurance and will place one with the dental association as well.

I went there as a new patient and was happy that they got me in the same day I called. That is the extent of my happiness. 1. I arrived and they could not bring up my valid health insurance. They insisted it was inactive which was not the case. 2. After examining the X-rays they took, there were two possible teeth that need a root canal. The dr. could not provide the treatment and could not give me a definitive answer. He referred me to others. 3. They wrote me an Rx and said they would call it in. When I went to the pharmacy, they had no record of it being calied in and the copy the dentist office provided me was written for the wrong patient. 4. They scheduled two follow up phone consultations (which I was only aware of one). When I called to question the two appts and why it couldn't be handled in one appt., I never received a clear answer. Is this just to double bill insurance??? When they could not give me a straight answer or stop talking in riddles, I requested they cancel my appts. and I would find another dentist. This office was just too frustrating and inept to deal with. This was not the experience you want as a new patient.

Smyl Manatee is great! I went in with a tooth ach and they were able to get me in as an emergency very quickly. They then had a plan to not only relieve the pain but a series of steps to fix problems that were affecting my mouth. No other dentist has ever done this for me. Just just been fix the problem at had. Through the process they are extremely caring of my comfort during procedures and are extremely personable. This is my place for sure!
