Great place! They're super good with kids and I like they tell you straight about things instead of withholding information. Telling you what to expect and what may or may not happen. Both my toddler and baby have I think it's called "top tie"? So they are very informative about what we need to watch out for and how to take care of it, as well as keeping a good eye to make sure they don't need surgery. So this place has good bedside manner, patience, compassion, and thorough.

I absolutely LOVE the current staff. Took both my autistic kiddos today. Oldest is a chatter box and normally terrified to go but they did awesome and were so patient with him and instead of crying hysterically afterwards like he usually does he shrugged and said "Eh, it wasn't actually that bad" A huge win for us!! My three year old is mostly nonverbal and was crying and fussing alot mostly more about not wanting to sit still and wait then about her actual teeth and they were patient and not at all rude to us unlike past experiences we've had. This exhausted mama really appreciated all the support today it can be really hard at times parenting two kids with special needs but today was a big win for us thanks to the staff here Highly recommend this place for your kiddos

I have nothing but good things to say about this place. Comparing to the last dentist I took him to, my 2 year old son seemed more relaxed , although he did cry but he didn't try to grab their hand out of the way (with the exception of me having to hold them down). He didn't force me holding them down or move uncontrollably to try to get away though like the last dentist. It was a relief as it was stressful at the last dentist and had already built my nerves up. The girl that cleaned his teeth gave me tips and answered all my questions without me feeling scolded because I didn't need to or needed to do something. The dentist was also the same way, giving me options as to deal with my sons teeth that needed to be pulled. He didn't try to tell me I needed to do one thing over the other , he explained both. I felt no judgement there from anyone. I thought all dentist were the same. Getting told at the last dentist what I need to do and what I shouldn't be doing made me feel ashamed because I wasn't doing everything perfect. This dentistry was a HUGE relief and I thank them for that. My day was so much better because of it.

After switching from another pediatric dentist in Knoxville, we really are so happy with our experience at SMPD. Dr Fowler is a great dentist! He listens to concerns and provides knowledgeable information without sounding judgemental or dismissive. He seems to genuinely care for his patients and we didn't feel like we were just there to fork over exorbitant amounts of money for unnecessary treatments. The staff was so welcoming. My child felt so at ease here, which is a drastic difference from every other visit she's had at her previous dentist.

Pure professionalism coupled with great gentleness with the children's emotional and physical well being in mind. Wonderful experience. I'm overwhelmed with awe and gratitude. My 6 year old walked out of the office saying she wasn't afraid and was looking forward to coming back! Excellence in care is their motivation. Thank you!!!

I have a 5 year old with extreme anxiety issues and the entire staff was absolutely amazing! He has to have a couple things done and they are more than willing to work with his anxiety so he is as comfortable as possible. I'm so glad we found this place.

They were very patient with my grandkids when they both freaked out a little. They helped keep a eye on where the kids were and what they were doing while I filled out the paperwork

We had a wonderful experience here!! My 6 year old was scared but the assistant was so nice & funny. She explained everything to my daughter and even demonstrated how the tools worked before starting her cleaning. I would absolutely recommend!!

Their policy is "Please don't come if you have Covid symptoms" but when you reschedule due to Covid, whole family, including child tests positive, you will be "dismissed" from their practice. Zero questions asked, zero concern. Policy is policy.

This was our first visit to this office. Everyone was professional and very child friendly. The whole office space is set up in a very open atmosphere. We really enjoyed the experience and look forward to continuing with this office as his pediatric dentist.
