Dr. Leary graduated from Temple University School of Dentistry in 1986. He served as a Dental Officer in the US Navy for 3 active years and as a reservist for 13 years prior to returning to his hometown . He has remained at this location since 1989 and recently completed a renovation to update the office to reflect the new millennium. He knew he wanted to become a Dentist since he was five years of age and feels lucky to have fulfilled that dream.
Dr. Leary is currently the Trustee representing New York State at the American Dental Association. He is past-Chairman at the American Dental Association in Chicago on the New Commission on Dental Education Review Programs.
Dr. Leary's daughter, Dr. Megan, has recently joined the practice in Smithtown and enhances the availability and schedule offered to patients. He feels it is an honor to have her follow in the profession he loves.

I have been Dr. Hanna's patient for 5 - 6 years. Dr. Hanna and his staff are wonderful. I had some serious issues and he was professional n got me out of pain. I never went to a such a family, caring dentist office. There is 2 Dr.Leary's in this office also all of these dentist's are wonderful. .

Very friendly staff very good and positive environment and great dentist Dr. Megan very kind careing and gentile would recommend to anybody who is scared or does not like going to the dentist.

Top notch office. The entire staff is friendly. My dental work was painless, the dentist and assistant made sure I was comfortable.

I was referred here by my coworkers because they participated in my dental ins, only charging my copay. Today I received a bill for "deep scaling" & polishing to the tune of $236! First of all, I only had films done & had a cleaning over 2 visits(this is how they do it) & I was told to come back for polishing(?). I had no cavities. I was never told that there were extra charges besides my copay. Despite the nice office personnel & doctors, I will never go back.

I am so blown away by the staff at family dentistry. From the greeting at the front desk to the assistants, hygentist and dentist- this is the best atmosphere. Completely at ease and they go above and beyond. My babysitting cancelled and i had to bring my 3yr old 6 month old. They were SO welcoming and accommodating giving my daughter things to play with and even gave my baby a bottle while my teeth were getting cleaned and told me not to worry. Just WOW

My wife and I have going to Dr. Leary for a few years; my sister and mother even longer. Every single person in this office is wonderful to deal with, from the office staff, the hygienists, and Dr. Leary and Dr. Hanna. They are always super-friendly; seem to know every single patient like a person, not a number; and do painless work, even for a chicken like me. No lectures, no embarrassment, just fantastic all-around. I can't recommend them highly enough.
