Dr. Kim Power is a North Carolina native. She was raised in Cary, and loved North Carolina so much that she attended University of North Carolina at Wilmington for undergrad and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for dental school. She left UNCW early when she was granted early acceptance into UNC Dental School.
Her Doctorate of Dental Surgery was obtained in 2016, but she considers herself a lifelong learner and is a self proclaimed continuing education junkie. Her love of learning is paralleled by her love of teaching; Dr Power enjoys being part time faculty at UNC dental school so she can spread her passion for dentistry with others.
In her free time, Dr. Power loves hanging out with her friends and family. She is married and has two fur-kids Ava Mae and Baxter. She loves eating good food, playing games and trivia (even though she's terrible at it), and spending time relaxing on her front porch.
Meet our wonderful Hygienist, Ashley! Ashley was born and raised in Pine Level, North Carolina, but embraces her Honduran culture. Ashley graduated from the Wake Tech Dental Hygiene program in 2018. She is passionate about her career and strives to give each patient a thorough and precise yet gentle experience every time. To her, theres nothing more gratifying than educating and helping patients overcome their dental fears. She enjoys Zumba class, trying new food, and spending time with her pup, Benny!
Brittany was born in Italy, but was raised in North Carolina. She graduated from the dental assisting program at Wayne Community College in 2009. She loves the ever evolving world of dentistry and keeping up with the technology. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, the beach, and spending time with her husband and daughter.
Brooke was born and raised in Johnston County NC. She resides in Selma with her husband, two kids and two dogs. In her spare time, she enjoys shopping with her daughter and spending time with her family. Brooke takes great pride in her work and making all patients feel welcome and comfortable while in the office.

I would highly recommend Smithfield Family Dentistry, they are great! I had never been there and was recommended by a friend because I had a wisdom tooth that I was told that I would need oral surgery and $1600 to do it. Well one quick trip today and $500 I am good to go. From beginning to the end was a great experience, my only regret is not going here sooner.

Today's visit was for my four kids age 8-1.5 As always our wait was not long. They rotated through the kids efficently and effectively. They were kind and attentive. I can't ask for more when taking care of my kids. Thanks ya'll

The service was very good. The staff was very nice and well trained. Going to the dentist and having teeth extracted is not a favorite thing to do, but the staff made me feel at ease.

This place is exceptional. I'm always able to get an appointment within the same week, they are true to appointment time, I rarely have to wait more than 15 minutes in the waiting room. My son lost a crown and they squeezed him in the same day. The whole staff, receptionists, assistants and the dr are amazing, warm and professional. My son hated going to the dentist, but he loves going here. Highly recommend.

From scheduling our appointment to treatment, the entire staff was absolutely amazing. It was quick, easy and everyone was very professional. They truly went out of their way to make my daughter's first dental appointment special. I was also very impressed with the cleanliness of the facility. Highly recommend this practice.

I am posting regarding my mother's experience. I am posting 1 star because I cannot post 0. My mother went in to fix her 2 front teeth. She had crowns put on and was told that if they bothered to come back in to get them fixed. She went back in saying they were very uncomfortable and was told that in order to fix she would have to pay $2500 to redo the work, that is ridiculous! There was an apprentice there that heard the whole thing and remembered the Dr saying she'd fix anything wrong and then not wanting to do so. Horrible place and work ethic.

Friendly service. Very informative. Dental hygienist is the best! Ashley is personable and makes my visits pleasant. I have a good experience from check in to check out. 8/31/22 Had to get fillings and cleaning done today. A BIG thank you to Dr Adam, Brittany and Ashley for a job well done!!! You were accommodating, friendly and professional! You made my visit very pleasant

If you want or need dentures then I highly suggest going else where!!!! Everyone of the staff including the dentist are rude and hateful. After getting my teeth removed I had to go back twice because pieces of teeth were left all over in my gums. Spent almost a year trying to get the dentures. They were not, did ot communicate with the denture company they used and between the dentist, dental assistance the dentures never came back right. I left went else where and had a set of dentures within 3 months and the place was incredible. Do NOT go to Smithfield family dentist. Again they are unprofessional, rude, the rooms are dirty and do not communicate with the denture company they use. It is not just me I have talked to a lot of other's who left there and were not happy. Unfortunately, It was only after going I came a cross the other unhappy people. Good luck and God be with you if your going to Smithfield family dentist.

I hate the dentist but I just can't hate this dentist. I would love to say it was a great experience but going to the dentist is just not. They did make it the best experience I've had at a dentist From the receptionist to the dental assistant and of course Dr. Power herself. I have finally found a dentist that I will be returning to.
