Dr. Smith grew up in the small town of Carthage, Texas, where learned the virtues and rewards of living in rural America. In 1990, he received a Bachelor's of Science degree in Biology from Baylor University. After one year in the pharmaceutical industry, he returned to school at the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry. He graduated from UNC in 1995 and was recognized in the areas of Prosthetics and Cosmetics. Upon receiving his DDS, Dr. Smith entered into private practice in Cary, North Carolina, emphasizing restorative and cosmetic dentistry.
Janie is a 1985 graduate of Southern Arkansas University where she received a degree in nursing. She married Dr. Smith in 1992 before he began his practice. In 1995, Janie left her nursing career and began working with our dental practice. She enjoys spending time with her three children and enjoys helping with the children's ministry at their church.
Sara joined the practice in February 2018, with over 4 years of dental experience both as a dental assistant and patient coordinator. She moved to the area from Pittsburgh, PA with her husband 8 years ago. She loves to travel to the mountains, enjoys watching the Steelers football and Penguins hockey teams play and making handmade leather products with her husband. She also has two loveable dogs names Winnie and Bailey.
Brandy joined Dr. Smith's team in June of 2018. She joins us with over 9 years experience both as a dental assistant and patient coordinator. She likes spending her time with family, friends and her dogs. She loves to attend rock concerts (Shinedown is her favorite), going to the beach, and watching The Ohio State football games!
Adrienne joins us with over 25 year's experiences in many areas within the dental practice. She joined us in early 2018. She has two grown children and a daughter-in-law plus two sponsor children through Compassion International in Haiti. She has loved working over the years with patients, assisting as they transformed their smiles, educate them about oral health, and facilitating treatment plans to maximize insurance benefits. Adrienne loves spending time with family and friends, zip-lining, whitewater rafting , kayaking and traveling the world with her husband.
Jessica joined Dr. Smith's team in 2011. She received her dental assisting certification from Wake Technical Community College and graduated with the highest academic achievement in her class. She enjoys playing the violin, exercising, cooking and spending time with her family. She will take great care of you the next time you have a dental need or concern.
Nadine is a graduate of University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Nadine has more than 20 years of dental hygiene experience. Before joining our team in 1999, Nadine spent time working with the UNC Dental Faculty Practice. She loves what she does and loves caring for patients and helping them achieve their optimal dental health. In her spare time, Nadine enjoys riding and showing horses, watching little league baseball, and spending time with her husband, Mike, and their son, Trace.
A graduate of the Wake Technical Community College, Suma joined our practice in early 2008. She is well versed in the treatment of gum disease and works closely with patients to help them obtain optimal dental health. In her free time, she volunteers at her daughter's school and participates in other cultural activities. She enjoys traveling and visiting new places with her husband, Ram, and her daughter, Rhea.
Karon joined our practice during the spring of 2012. She graduated from Coastal Carolina Community College where she received her dental hygiene degree. Karon has over 35 years' experience in the dental field. She enjoys cooking, gardening, traveling, and spending time with her family.
Ryan manages Triangle Dental Designs, a dental lab that produces dental crowns, bridges, occlusal guards, and retainers for our practice. Ryan is a 1996 graduate of Durham Technical School where he earned an associate degree in Applied Science. He has been with our practice since 2000. Ryan lives in Cary with his wife, two beautiful girls and son. He enjoys playing softball and spending time with his family at the beach.
