G. Bennett Smith, DDS grew up in Clemmons and Winston-Salem, NC. He graduated with a B.A. degree from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill . Dr. Smith received a D.D.S. degree from the UNC School of Dentistry in 1983.
Dr. Ben Smith has practiced general dentistry in Mount Airy, NC since 1990. He is a member of the NC Dental Society, the American Dental Society (ADA) and the Blue Ridge Dental Society. He has been awarded Fellowships in the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) , the Academy of Dentistry International (ADI) , the American College of Dentists (ACD) and the International College of Dentists ( ICD ).
Dr. Ben enjoys fishing, shooting, traveling, and many outdoor activities. He has participated several times in the annual ethics seminar for UNC senior dental students.He loves people, cooking, art, and music.
Dr. Lyn Smith has practiced general dentistry in Mount Airy, NC since 1990. Her professional memberships include the NC Dental Society , the American Dental Society ( ADA ) and the Blue Ridge Dental Society. She has served as President of the North Carolina Academy of General Dentistry (2006).

Dr. Lyn's interests include running, hiking, traveling and outdoor activities.She enjoys art, music, dancing and Bible study. Dr. Lyn especially enjoys sharing time with her husband, family, and friends.
Ellen graduated from the dental assisting program at the Career Development Center and received her dental x-ray certification at Old Dominion University. She began working at our office in 1997 as Dr. Lyn's chairside assistant. Ellen enjoys talking with our patients, giving instructions about oral hygiene and reviewing post-treatment care. She is experienced at working in all areas of our dental office and works chairside with both dentists.
Faye has many years of experience in the dental office setting. Her training has included working chairside and in the front office. Faye received her dental x-ray certification at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine. She joined our dental team in 2000 working mostly chairside with Dr. Ben. Her experienced gentle touch helps to maintain patient comfort during dental treatment.
Shannon will assist you with scheduling your dental care. She will explain dental procedures, fees, and office policies. If you have dental insurance, she will help you to understand and use your insurance benefits. Shannon joined our dental team in 2021. You will hear her friendly voice when you call or visit Blue Ridge Dental.
Heather is the newest member of our dental team. She received her training and dental x-ray certification at the Sunrise School of Dental Assisting during 2020. She is primarily working chairside with Dr. Ben.
Denise joined our dental team in 2019. She brings both her dental assisting skills and her friendly personality to our dental office. Denise will help you to feel welcome and comfortable when you visit Blue Ridge Dental.
Kay has many years of experience as a dental hygienist. She joined our dental team in 2020. In addition to cleaning the teeth, she also provides periodontal maintenance care. Kay works with both dentists to help our patients achieve optimal oral health. Our patients appreciate her skillful and gentle touch.
