Dr. Smith is a native of North Carolina, valedictorian of his high school, top of his class in dental school and lauded graduate of UNC. But, what sets him apart is his passion for people and what orthodontics can accomplish to improve your life.
Dr. Kat grew up just south of Charlotte, North Carolina, but she was actually born in the former USSR and came to the United States as a baby. She loves seeing the transformation in her patients lives and confidence.
Dr. Kat and the entire staff at Smith & Heymann are wonderful! Dr. Kat has done a great job straightening my teeth. If I ever have any questions about my treatment plan she makes sure to take the time to answer each one thoroughly and she does so with genuine kindness. I can't recommend this practice enough!
Dr. Smith is amazing with kids. My first time here. It is one of the most advanced dental clinics I have ever seen. Self-check-in and I was called in on time. Attention to detail by Dr. Smith and all the staff. Super friendly staff.

Both my wife and I have used Dr. Smith for Invisalign. Both of us started our experience with another provider. Dr. Smith has the smoothest running, kindest, and most capable ortho practice I've ever worked with.
Best dental experience ever. I enjoyed every visit to Dr. Heymann and am thrilled with my treatment results! Several people recommended him (including my favorite dental hygienist, who was herself a patient of his) for Invisalign straightening.
Dr. Smith and his team are amazing. I am a 30+ year old male who got Invisalign. The outcome is much better than what I expected. Most importantly, everyone in his office has always been very friendly, provided great customer service, and demonstrated their interest in giving me a perfect smile.

Dr. Heymann remained at UNC for his specialty training in orthodontics, where he received the Andrew McArthur Brooks Fellowship, as well as earned a Master of Science and an orthodontic certificate from one of the most well-respected orthodontic programs in the world.
Dr. Kat attended UNC, where she earned her undergraduate and dental degrees. From there, she went on to study orthodontics at Texas A&M University in Dallas, where she won the prestigious award of Resident of the Year from an esteemed orthodontic journal.

I loved my experience here. Everyone is amazing. Dr Kat and Dr Smith are great doctors! My favorite assistant is Baleigh! I would recommend everyone to come here for #1 orthodontic care

I had a Great Experience here Very Clean, and well organized office. Amazing customer service and most importantly, Dr. Smith took the time to sit down and review my films and get me the retainer I needed at an affordable price! Rebekah, the orthodontic assistant was amazing as well! 10/10
