One thing we really pride ourselves on is staying up to date on the latest technology and making treatment as effective, hassle free and as comfortable as we possibly canfor our patients. Some of the new technology you will see in our office is an intraoral 3D scanner, a high intensity laser, and a CBCT imaging machine.
Intraoral Scanner We take pride in staying up to date with new technology. We use our radiation free intraoral scanner every day! This scanner captures a 3D replica of your teeth. This means you will not have an alginate impression. An alginate impression is like a gooey Play-Doh. It has to stay in the mouth for about a minute until the alginate turns to a rubber consistency which tends to be hard for a patient to sit through. It is also not a fail-proof method and may need to be retaken. The intraoral scanner is just a camera that slides around the surfaces of your teeth. While scanning your teeth it can be stopped and restarted at any time throughout. It is also an exact replica of your teeth which makes it correct on the first scan every time! Since the scan is an exact replica, your appliance will have a better fit than that of an alginate impression.
CBCT We are pleased to announce that our office utilizes a Carestream CS9300. This machines technology brings new possibilities for treatment planning and maximizes the safety of our imaging procedures. This unit complies with the best practices in medicine and dentistry by following the American Dental Association's ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) radiation principle to minimize the effective radiation dose to our patients. The unique features of this unit allow us to choose what area of the teeth and/or facial anatomy we need to capture, which significantly reduces any unnecessary exposure. Our staff can also adjust the unit's settings, allowing us to capture only the details we need. These specific radiographs allow Dr. Smith to evaluate airway size, anatomy for orthodontics and diagnoseany underlying issues.

I would like to take a minute to thank Dr. Smith & his son. I have let them know multiple times how much I feel they have been a God sent to me They really want to help you get to the root of the problem and not brush you off. I have came to understand there is nobody in davannah that can help with jaw displacement and jaw not closing becuz bite off. paid $1200 for splint and 5in piece of plastic but no help when I followed all guidelines.

This office is fantastic and Dr. Smith is great. I visited to see the options that were available for clear aligners to straighten my teeth. The options were affordable and they made the process simple! I was very pleased with how straight my teeth turned out. Give them a visit for any orthodontic needs!

Dr. Smith and his team were exceptional. Our daughter was unable to breastfeed and needed a tongue and lip tie revision. We wanted to approach this procedure as holistically as possible and after discovering Dr. Smith online and speaking with Tan, we were convinced they were the best team to entrust with our daughter. We drove four hours to see him. Our daughter healed beautifully, and while it took longer than expected/desired for her to nurse again, she had the function necessary to set her up for success. Dr. Smith and his team were kind and generous. It was apparent from the moment we walked in that they genuinely care for their patients. These procedures are never fun to experience as a mom, but if it's necessary, I highly recommend this practice! 100% worth the drive. Thank you!

I have been a patient of Dr. Smith for just over a month and my TMJ is already dramatically better! He is kind, friendly, thorough and has spent a considerable amount of time explaining how and why the treatment is working. All of the staff members are friendly and excellent at their jobs. I'm so thankful for the care they put in to my care.

My daughter has a tongue tie and a lip tie she had weight gain problem, will Latch for 40 min to an hour, also has a clicking sound. Most of the dentist will say to do a surgery, Dr. Smith offered us less painful method a laser. After 4 sessions she was able to latch for 10-15 min and come off on her own, her clicking sounds reduced and the most important she started to gain weight. If you can try less harmful method and fix an issue of latching I would definitely recommend Dr. Smith and laser techniques.

I was referred to Dr. Smith by a lactation consultant in Savannah to help with my newborns oral ties. I was so impressed with the kindness of everyone in the office, especially Dr. Smith's compassion. Highly, highly recommend his office!

Do NOT trust this practice. They are incapable of keeping their own records straight and instead of trying to contact you about possible discrepancies or outstanding balances they default to using debt collectors. Completely dishonest "Christian" practitioner.

After trying for weeks to get an appt. with several specialist in the area with no luck. I finally found Dr. Smith and was able to be seen the next day. Dr. Smith and his team was very welcoming, professional and knowledgeable. Dr. Smith and his staff honestly changed my life for the better. I had not realized at first how much a proper nights rest can effect your day to day life. I also didn't realize how a lack of sleep and "restful" sleep can effect those around you. After being referred to Dr. Smith and getting the sleep appliance treatment, I am now sleeping and getting restful sleep at night. Everything from actually dreaming at night to not snoring is now a night to night reality. I am truly satisfied with my treatment and care from Dr. Smith and staff and am glad to continue to be a patient at Savannah Dental Specialties. I will always refer anyone and everyone I can to Dr. Smith.
