Dr. Smith is passionate about creating beautiful smiles! After graduating from the University of Cincinnati in 2003, Dr. Smith attended Harvard University for his Doctorate of Dental Medicine, where he learned the art and science of dentistry from world-class instructors and mentors. In 2012, he began an orthodontic residency at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, where he served as Chief Resident, providing braces, Invisalign, surgical orthodontics, and cleft lip/palate orthodontics. Dr. Smith now specializes exclusively in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics creating beautiful smiles with Invisalign and braces for children and adults.
Dr. Tischbein attended Indiana University where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology. He then went on to earn his Masters degree at Purdue University. After completing his Masters he went on to complete his Doctorate of Dental Surgery at Indiana University School of Dentistry. Following dental school, Dr. Tischbein completed his residency in General Practice at the University of Louisville focusing on oral surgery, endodontics, and implant dentistry.
Dr. Tischbein spends most of his free time with his wife Courtney, his daughter Revyn, and dog Rayne. They enjoy working out together, hiking, traveling, and trying new local food spots. When a rainy day comes about they also enjoy a good movie or Netflix marathon.

My co-worker had recommended Smith Dental since I moved from Chicago, IL. Dr. Phil and all the staff is amazing. I had worked done and felt no pain. They are awesome and I would highly recommend Smith Dental to everyone.

I have only visited this dentist office 3 times so far, but with each visit, everyone that I have encountered has been professional, helpful, and very friendly. From the front desk, to the assistants and the hygienists, and of course, the dentists too. The atmosphere is very clear and inviting, and I couldn't ask for anything more.

I went here without insurance to get my permanent retainer glued back on and the staff was nice however about 2 weeks later it came unglued. I called a couple times with no answer and inevitably left a voice message explaining what happened. I never got a call back, I wasn't sure they could even do anything and I definitely couldn't afford another $350 but I would have atleast liked a call back. Edit to add I appreciate the effort after the review however I have taken it completely out myself now and no longer require assistance as I gave up getting it fixed.

Participate in pipeline club - great value Always great service, caring compassionate and thorough. Most recent visit due to problem gum - 2 xrays and office visit was part of pipeline plan so no extra cost.

Always Greeted with Hello's, friendly smiles and faces. My procedures , cleanings, etc has always been professional and treated with care! Smith Dental makes me feel like part of their family. I've been a patient at the Smyrna location for several years now. My daughter and I truly love everyone on the staff and Dr Phil. They have been so helpful in dealing with my insurance and well basically dealing with me, because honestly I'm a handful. They never mind my crazy and are always amazing. Smith Dental has competed several restorations for me that have changed my life. Their technology is advanced. For a basic crown there are pictures taken of the inside of your mouth for it to be made from. The crown isn't always the same shape of your original tooth. It fits how it should fit. A front tooth that was sticking out is now smooth with my other teeth. A back tooth that had started pointing inward is now lined up correctly. My old crowns were never this amazing. I love to smile more than ever. Thank you to the entire Smith Dental team! You are absolute rockstars! Every single one of you!
