Dr. Henry Smith graduated from University of Texas in 1976 with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy with honors. He attended the University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston graduating in 1981. He moved to Mission in 1982. He has practiced dentistry at 308 S. Bryan Road in Mission since 1985. He is married to Bonnie Smith and has two children Scarlett and Andrew.
Dr.Smith is a member of Mission Lions Club, Sharyland Water Supply Corporation, First Methodist Church McAllen and Rio Grande Valley Tex-Ex Students Association. He is also a member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, Rio Grande Valley Dental Society. Dr. Smith is a member of the Seattle Study Club for excellent in dentistry with continuing education classes throughout the year. He was a past member of the Sharyland ISD Board of Trustees, Mission Economic Development Authority, Mission Chamber of Commerce, and American Heart Association.
Dr. Andrew Smith is a valley native and eager to practice in his hometown. Dr. Andrew graduated from Sharyland High School, went on to the University of the Incarnate Word to graduate Summa Cum Laude and then finished up his education at the University of Texas School of Dentistry. Dr. Smiths dream of becoming a dentist and working alongside his father has become a reality. Along the way, Dr. Smith designed his personal practice of dentistry with the goal of creating a comfortable experience for the patient. His main goals revolve around reducing dental anxiety so each patient that leaves his chair will take with them a sense of comfort and trust in their experience with Dr. Smith. He spends countless hours learning the newest and latest dental treatment technology. When you see Dr. Smith, you will know that the most modern and up-to-date treatment has been performed.
I enjoy what Im doing, and I love meeting new people. I treat every patient as if they are my own family, giving every person my undivided attention and care. During his free time, Dr. Smith enjoys spending time with his wife, Shellie, and his son, Henry. He enjoys watching his Texans, Rockets, and Astros, even though he is often left with mixed emotions. He also loves to play golf and be with friends. He is also an active member of the RGV Dental Society, Texas Dental Association, American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentist.

If your looking for a dentist that will actually sit with you and explain everything to you then smith dental is the place to go. He is very professional and has helped me so much understand what I needed to get done . Outstanding customer service in the front also they are always so nice and welcoming . I love the vibe in that office such good energy , I totally recommend them!

I went in for a filling on my two Front teeth to fix a chip. Dr A. Smith was so professional and so attentive. The procedure only took about 10 minutes and not one bit of pain. The front staff is also super sweet all the time and they make you feel like family!

Well, the remodeling is over and done with. I went yesterday for my 6 month cleaning and I was floored - a WOW was more my facial expression. What a huge transformation. Now, it's spacious, has an open concept and the new interior is gorgeous. I felt like a kid trying out all the new seats. The front office staff, the hygienists and the dentist are nice and friendly. As soon as you go into the office the ladies up front greet you with a warm...Hello and a huge smile. I've been with Smith Dental for over 5 years because I love their friendly environment and professional services.

Our family of five have been loyal patients of this office for the past four years and absolutely love them! From the front staff, to the team and dentists we are all treated with the most upmost professionalism and care. With any issues, we are quickly seen and issues resolved - truly treated like family here!

I am very happy with the care Dr Smith has provided. The staff, dental hygienists, and both Dr Smiths have always been very friendly and professional. I don't even mind the 30 minute drive.

Wonderful experience everytime. Ashton is an awesome dental hygienist. After she does the routine dental cleaning you immediately can tell the difference. Dr. Andrew Smith Jr is the best dentist in the RGV.

My whole family has been going to Smith Dental for years ! They are great with the kids (even for tooth extractions!) and I have very sensitive teeth and they are always so delicate with the sensitive areas ! Flexible scheduling, short wait times, friendly staff and the doctors are amazing . 5 stars - highly Recommended !

I was apprehensive about going to the dentist for the first time in awhile. I shouldn't have been though! From the first call I made for the appointment until I walked out the door at the end, every staff member was welcoming and genuinely nice. I felt at ease in the chair and actually look forward to going back!
