While a relatively new transplant to beautiful Eugene, Oregon (the native home of his wife, Nancy), Dr. Sullivan is not new to the dental profession, having worked with over 10000 friends and neighbors in his hometownsince 1984.

'I grew up one of five kids working hard on a working farm, and knew pretty early that I 'd prefer a life indoors,' he laughs. 'Dentistry has afforded me the amazing opportunity to not only stay out of the weather, but much more importantly to serve my community in a very tangible way. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing patients leave my practice happier for the experience, and healthier, as well.'

He is also proud to be recognized internationally as both a teacher and a leader in the dental profession. Many weekends find him helping other dentists learn the nuances of what it takes to createbeautiful, long lasting smiles by presenting lectures on aesthetic and real-world dentistry. Its great to help other dentists see what dentistry can truly be for their patients, he says, and its even greater to see the change high qualitydentistry can make in patients lives. For me, a beautiful and healthy smile is about reflecting the person 's soul underneath.'

A member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD)since 1998, Dr. Sullivans passion for his profession eventually led him to an even higher level of service; for many years he served as a member of the AACD Board of Directors, and was the 25th President of the AACD, servingin 2011-12.

The AACD is an incredible organization that is changing the way general and cosmetic dentistry is practiced across the globe. Im proud to be an Accredited member, and was privileged that the membership allowed me to help shape their future, Dr. Sullivan said.

The AACD is the worlds largest dental organization dedicated to Cosmetic Dentistry, and is recognized for having the professions most stringent, double-blind, peer-reviewed accreditation for specialization in cosmetic dentistry. The AACD also encourages and enforces the highest standards of ethical conduct and responsible patient care among dentists. Dr. Sullivan earned his Accreditation in 2006,which means he has earned a level of accreditation held by less than five hundred dentists worldwide.

Testament to the memberships trust in Dr. Sullivan is that the AACD membership has invited him to continue on in his role of leader, participating as a speaker at annual AACD conferences and representing the AACD in Sweden, Japan, and South Korea teaching what he knows so well.

I have known Dr. John Sullivan since 2003, when I first began my career in dentistry, choosing to find and work with only the very best dentists in the country on their marketing and thereby help them attract patients whom they could best serve and who would be most likely to value the quality service delivered.

Dr. Sullivan was my first big client as strange asit may sound, but in the world of dentistry (and yes, there is one) he is a well-known and well-respected dentist, both for his skill and expertise and for his ingrained sense of honor. We became friends from that point on and over the next decade I worked with hundreds of dentists and dental companies.

Fast forward ten years and we found ourselves both single, and decided to become life partners. Why? For me, as Ive told so many of our friends, it was in no small part because of his basic down-to-the-core sense ofhonor and do-gooder mentality combined with his 'get-it-done' MacGyver-like skills.

Here's the thing: even if Dr. Sullivan never had to work another day in his life, hed still open the practice doors of Smiles4Oregon every single day in order to help as many of his friends and neighbors as possible. I always thought I was a serious pollyanna, but he outshines me by far. And when you put the two of us together, we start imagining fantastical futures where everyone has a happy, healthy, shining and beautiful smile so that everyones life can be as fulfilling as possible.

To that end, we actively participate in several philanthropic endeavors, from the national Give Back a Smile campaign, sponsored by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and focused on restoring the smiles of survivors of domestic violence, to participating in Free Dental Days across the country, to our own local initiative: Smile Forward.

What do we mean by Smile Forward you may ask? For us and our incredible team the phrase Smile Forward is our vision statement. It means that everything we do each and every day we walk into the practice is intended to make the world and our patients lives a better place through modern dentistry. It sounds trite to those not enamored with dentistry to the extent we are, but think about it: what fun is life if you cant talk with ease, enjoy your favorite foods, sing with abandon, or smile your love upon your beloved? To us, that is everything.

More true stories: every single testimonial from our real, happy patients. There are plenty more 5-stars on ourFacebook,Yelp and Google pages, but why notjustcall 541-225-4866 and find out for yourself what all of the fuss is about?

'By far the most enjoyable dentist experience I 've ever had....Everything about my experience was like nothing I 'd seen before. The office is beautiful. Like I want to live in it forever beautiful. Everybody was so friendly and I would have given 5 stars alone for the perfect use of that water spritzer - at every other office I either get a bath or I 'm covered in my own drool by the end of it. AND, on top of it all, I got a new tooth! The color is beautiful and perfectly matched and it all took less than 1 hour...'

I went in to take my dad to the dentist and the young white receptionist looked and talked to me like I wanted to get in her pants. Not only is that super wrong, as I am married, but it was also extremely, and I can not emphasize it enough, extremely uncomfortable. A youngish man came in and she made full conversation like it wasn't an issue with him, but very single out for me. For this reason alone, I will never get my teeth cleaned or taken care of here unless a an apology in person is made to me, or she is removed from the work place where I would encounter her. Again I can not stress how uncomfortable she made me, I felt gross, heavily discriminated, and severely stereotyped for an action I didn't commit and actively am trying to assist remove from this world. Otherwise, my dad's teeth looked great after his cleaning.

I have been a patient at Smiles4Oregon since 2016. This review is way overdue. John, Nancy and Katie are wonderful people who are very good at what they do. I have always been pleased with their services, including cleanings, x-rays, and recommendations on how I can take better care of my teeth. Their warm and friendly. I have a special shout-out to Katie, Smiles extraordinary dental hygienist. In addition to be a gifted at her work, she is always happy. She has the best laugh and always laughs at my jokes. How many people can say they've actually had fun getting their teeth cleaned? I can. Every time I sit in her chair! Thanks for making me "Smile," Katie.

This dentist made a massive mistake when working on my mouth, and then completely denied doing it. Unfortunately this won't be an easy fix. He did reimburse my money, and I appreciate that, but that doesn't make this situation better. In response to Nancy: I can show you what the tooth looks like now, after Dr. Sullivan worked on it that day. It's noticeably different, as the people in my life can attest to. Dentists make mistakes, they're only human, after all. But to continue to deny it is confusing to me. Had he suggested redoing the tooth, I would not have taken him up on that offer. I wouldn't have had him work on it at all after that. But to speak to me the way he did, and to not take responsibility for an error that was done just minutes before, is completely unacceptable. I don't think anyone is lying. What I think is that Dr. Sullivan is unable to even admit to himself that he cut part of my front tooth off. That's almost worse. See attached photo for what my front tooth looks like now after Dr. Sullivan worked on it. When I walked into his office that day, my two top front teeth were the exact same shape and size.

I highly recommend a visit to this dental practice. Dr.Sullivan truly cares about his patients and you feel it as soon as he introduces himself and begins to assess your dental needs. Nancy, who is married to Dr.Sullivan, touched my heart and helped me overcome my anxiety about my dental needs. The pure kindness of this company by offering to help people restore their smile after a traumatic event (s) solidifies to me that this world does have talented people who want to solve dental issues that many of us can not afford and carry shame over our situations. Their paying it forward belief has touched my heart and helped me restore my self worth. I would tell anyone to visit their website and make an appointment. I feel blessed to be in their care.

If I were to write everything that I love about Dr Sullivan's office, this review would never end. So I will keep it short and just say that finding Smiles4Oregon has been an absolute god send. I have had horrible pain on the right side of my head since I was 14 years old. I have gone to countless doctors, specialists, even had MRIs done. And the only thing anyone could ever say is that I just had chronic migraines. I dealt with this for 14 years without ever questioning it. Then one day I just so happened to find Smiles4Oregon and went in for a basic cleaning. Dr Sullivan came in to check my teeth after the cleaning and literally with in a matter of seconds he diagnosed something that no other doctor had been able to figure out for 14 years! He asked me to bite down, asked me if I had braces and then asked me about jaw pain. I was shocked because I hadn't mentioned jaw pain to anyone! But he noticed something was off right away and then started telling me about TMJ. Something I had never ever heard of and it blew my mind because every single thing that he said described my experience to a T without him knowing anything about me. I would have NEVER made this connection on my own and I'm certain no other doctor would have either. I would have lived the rest of my life thinking that I just had chronic migraines and that there was nothing that could be done to fix it. Dr Sullivan is in a class all of his own. I could honestly see people being willing to fly across the country just to come to Dr Sullivan's office because he and his staff are truly THAT amazing! Nancy and Katie are two of the kindest, most loving women I have ever, ever met. They make the entire experience feel so special and make you feel like you are their only patient in the whole world! I am so grateful to have found you guys

I had an amazing and welcoming experience with the WHOLE staff here at Smiles4Oregon! As soon as I walked in, the ladies upfront were very warm and friendly. Any questions or concerns I had were answered thoroughly without the feeling of pressure or embarrassment. During my procedure Dr.John and his assistant Alana were very perceptive to my body language, when I expressed my anxiety, and my overall reaction with compassion. Nancy made the financial aspect especially smooth with their AWESOME in-house financing. I'm leaving 5 stars ONLY because I am not able to leave MORE! I have never said this statement before but, I am excited for my next dentist appointment with Smiles4Oregon!!! I can not recommend enough!

Went in on a search online and have not regretted it since. I dont fear dentists, but it's been well over a decade since I've been into one, unfortunately for my chompers. Dr Sullivan has made these past few weeks quick and painless. He even fixed my front teeth to look more uniform, so I actually can't believe I'm smiling more and loving it. Hate to sound like an ad but, when the work is this good, you can't help it.
