Dr.Christina Do has been with us now for ten years and she is a graduate of Loma Linda University School of Dentistry. Throughout her dental career, she has had the honor of practicing with some of the leading laser professionals in the world. Dr. Cary Dunne practiced dentistry in Toledo, Ohio for 30 years after graduating from the Ohio State University School of Dentistry. He joined our office at Smiles4oc in 2011. Dr. Dunne feels very fortunate to have the opportunity to practice with Dr. Rolfes and Dr. Do in Costa Mesa.

Dr. Christina Do is a graduate of Loma Linda University School of Dentistry. She is a native Californian, born and raised in the OC. Throughout her dental career she has had the honor of practicing with some of the leading laser professionals in the world. Her perseverance in mastering dental laser technology gives her the opportunity to lecture worldwide to other dentists on the applications of laser dentistry. She is a lecturer and researcher for the leading dental laser company, Biolase. She is also on the executive board of the Coleman Research Group which connects medical investors with experts in the field of dentistry.
Dentistry has been a passion of Dr. Do since her college days at UCSD. She was inspired by a homeless woman who had no access to dental care. From that point forward, Dr. Do knew that she had a calling to perform dentistry to the under privileged in her community and to citizens of other countries. Since 2000, she has served in various countries including Mexico, Peru, Bolivia, Guatemala, Honduras, Papua New Guinea, and Haiti.
Dr. Do has created her own animated childrens educational DVD. Her Toothtales DVD has received numerous accolades and now has 3 episodes and counting. Dr. Do has been featured numerous times on the Emmy award winning show The Doctors performing various dental procedures. Currently, she has dental commercials on air and hopes to continue to reach out to the community through various media aspects. Her exceptional skills in laser dentistry has her featured on PBS American Health Journal, laser educational videos, published journal articles, multiple dental magazines, and actively sought out for dental treatments by patients. Dr. Do is an active member of the ADA, CDA, OCDS, WCLI, and the AAPD.
In her spare time, Dr. Do enjoys spending time with family and friends, hiking, exercising, and arts and crafts. She tops off her lifes joy by spoiling her dog Daisy, and doing whatever it takes to someday see her on the cover of Pet Monthly.
Tim Rolfes earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration at the University of Southern California in 2012. After spending the next year working as a full time intern at Smiles4OC, Tim returned to the University of Southern Californias Ostrow School of Dentistry where he earned his DDS degree (Doctor of Dental Surgery). During his four years at USC Dental, Tim found a passion in community dentistry. He had the opportunity to volunteer and provide dental care to underserved communities in the Philippines, Belize, and Cambodia through the Dental Humanitarian Outreach Program. He is also a core member of the USC Mobile Clinic, which provides dentistry to rural communities with limited or no access to dental care, throughout all of California. He regularly volunteers at the JWCH Institute and provides dental care to the predominantly homeless population on Skid Row in downtown Los Angeles. Tim has now joined the Smiles4OC team as a licensed dentist and is excited to be practicing full time and furthering his passion for dentistry.
Probably, I went through 3/4th of my 3rd year in college, and I really decided this is what I wanted to try and do. So I applied to dental school and I got in and now Im here. Im really happy that it worked this way.
As far as joining the practice it has been a great experience. Everyone that worked here is really experienced and they all help me so much, I have learned so much since I have been here, and it made my transition really easy from dental school into dentistry.

I recently had an emergency with the cap on my crown having popped off while flossing. I called Dr Rolf's office and they took me in that same day. I must tell you that I am afraid of pain and very nervous about going to see the dentist. However, because Dr Rolf's staff is so inviting and caring they make it easy for me to feel comfortable. Dr. Tim, who is my usual doctor, is an exceptional doctor and has a wonderful bedside manner. He always makes me feel at ease every time I go in to have work done on my teeth. As he promised, Dr. Tim said there would be no pain, and there was no pain. Thank you Dr Tim and to your staff. You guys are A++++! I highly recommend this office to anyone. Great Job!

It is said that the student is never as good as the teacher- well, I'm not so sure. I've always wanted to call him Tiny Tom because he is so like his dad, but with all due respect, he has indeed earned the title whereby in the future I will alway address him as "Dr. Tim". Today he replaced an upper front tooth known to be an especially sensitive area. It was a cake-walk. Zero (0) pain and more amazingly, zero discomfort! Dr. Tim & his assistant, Brittany kept me in the loop during the entire procedure. I could have slept through it if not for the noise. Perhaps in time they will no doubt figure that one out...noise cancellation? After my procedure, I was escorted to the checkout counter where I told Vicky and Brittany how refreshed I felt, as if I had been on vacation and so we all laughed. A great experience. It doesn't get any better than this!

I am deeply appreciative to Dr. Rolfes for his meticulous skill and expertise in correcting a dental issue which made a huge impact in my life! In addition to his years of experience and attention to detail, he was reassuring, exhibited confidence and had superb chair side kindness. He didn't seem rushed, nor did he push to oversell me dental procedures (and I KNOW he had many other patients waiting for him, yet he gave me his full undivided attention and time). Honestly, I can't express how appreciative I am for his meticulous work! He took his time and was extremely patient with me. The work he performed on my molar tooth closed a gap that had caused me issues for years. The reason I had waited to address the issue was because I was afraid and knew the risks involved with the procedure, but Dr. Rolfes was extremely careful but I also knew this wasn't his "first rodeo"... it was a routine procedure for this highly experienced dentist. I'm an ex- Registered Dental Assistant, a Board Certified Physician Assistant and I never post reviews. Dr. Rolfes deserves my highest recommendation without reservation (& his staff is fabulous as well).

Excellent team and a great environment. Doctors are well versed in latest equipment and technology like the water laser. The service is amazing: showed up 2 hours late and they fit me in within 10 minutes! Thanks Dr Tim and Nat!

I had a fantastic experience at this dentist. Their new patient consultation appointment was super thorough, and I was amazed at how low my copay was. Dr. Do was kind and explained everything well. Susie was very nice, too! After the appointment, I met with Christina, who explained my insurance and helped talk me through the treatment plan. They have state of the art technology that helps make dentist appointments less dreadful, like laser treatments in lieu of drilling cavities and a scan of your teeth instead of taking molds. No more dreading the dentist! This was the best dentist appointment I've had. I highly recommend them.

Dr. Thomas Rolfes is the best dentist. I have been to him for all of my dental needs in the last 30 plus years. Gentle, professional and never any pain. His staff is wonderful. They all work together like a well oiled machine.

Ive been going to this dental practice for many years and have always received excellent dental care. Dr Rolfes just replaced two old crowns with two new ones and they look and feel great! I also highly recommend Dr Do and the entire staff.

What a refreshing dental experience. They are thorough, SUPER friendly, and do everything they can do make you comfortable. They even let me use some headphones to block out the sound of the equipment which I told the office makes me nervous.
