Kevin McNamara is an experienced, gentle dentist. Hegraduated in 1988 from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry. Prior to dental school he earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology at the University of Missouri-Columbia. GO TIGERS!! Dr. McNamara began his dental career in Kansas City and has been providing quality, comfortable dental care to Belton and Raymore residents since 1991.
Dr. McNamara enjoys working with his patients, both older and younger, to help them overcome any fears or concerns they have about dentistry. Each patient is treated with personalized care, time and attention. He recognizes each patient is unique and isrespectful ofthat. Achieving a relaxed positive dental experience for the patient, as well as educating them about their oral health is his primary goal. He considers it a compliment when patients refer their family and friends. He finds it extremely gratifying when his patients achieve the confident healthy smile they deserve.
Dr. McNamara is a member of the American Dental Association, Missouri Dental Association and The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. He has volunteered for the Research Belton Foundation and the Kansas City Free Health Clinic. He has completed hundreds of hours of continuing education to ensure his patients are provided the most up-to-date care available.
In his free time, Dr. McNamara enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He enjoys being outdoors, horseback riding, boating, swimming, traveling, and seeing his favorite music artists live in concert.
Kathleen Cooper, D.D.S. joined the Smiles Unlimited team in January 2014. A native of the Kansas City area, she graduated from the University of Kansas City in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology. Dr. Cooper then graduated from UMKC School of Dentistry in 2012. She found an early love of dentistry by working as a dental assistant in high school and college. Dr. Cooper enjoys getting to know her patients and providing gentle quality care.
Dr. Cooper is a member of the American Dental Association, Missouri Dental Association and Greater Kansas City Dental Society. In her free time she has volunteered at several Kansas Mission of Mercy (KMOM) events, which provide free dental care to underserved populations. Dr. Cooper also enjoys staying current on the latest dental care by regularly attending continuing education courses.
Dr. Runyon grew up in St. Louis. He receivedhis undergraduate degree fromDrury Universityin Springfield, MO and hisgraduate degreefrom the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Dentistry. During dental school,Dr. Runyon served on the Honors Council andreceived a peer award for Most Ethical.
Dr. Runyonstrives to stay abreast of the newest developments in his field by obtaining more education than required to maintain his license. He is also involved in many professional organizations which include the American Dental Association, Missouri Dental Association, Greater Kansas City Dental Society, Jamison Spencer Study Club, and is a Diplomate of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine.
Dr. Runyon prides himself on treating all patients like family. His philosophy is to treat patients to the best of his ability while incorporating patients in the treatment by explaining treatment options and establishing lines of communication.
In his time away from the office, Dr. Runyon enjoys spending time with his wife and kids, friends, andhis two rescue kittiesLinus and Lucy. Some of Dr. Runyons hobbies include cooking and playing and watching many different sports.

They were quick to get me in as a new patient when I was experiencing discomfort. The staff and Doctor were very considerate and friendly. They did not try to upsell me on unnecessary interventions yet I left feeling like I had the answers and solutions I needed.

Me and my family have been going to Smiles Unlimited for 20 years now. I am so impressed with their professionalism and customer service. The entire staff needs to be recognized for their overall customer service, from the receptionists Kathy, Sonya, Lindy and Leslie. In addition, to their hygenists Michelle and Laleh and Dr. McNamara, Dr. Cooper and Dr. Runyon. What a team.
