Dr. Gorantlas passion for orthodontics started when he was in dental school and saw firsthand what orthodontics can do to put smiles on the faces of young kids. He really enjoys interacting with patients and families, and is constantly working further to develop himself as an expert in his field to provide the best care to his patients.
As a Wichita native, Dr. Kristen Wellemeyer Sander is proud to help put smiles on the faces of people right in her hometown. Dr. Sander loves how orthodontics can do far more than simply help patients straighten their teeth. Orthodontics can genuinely transform a patients smile in ways that change their life. A healthy smile can brighten someones day, and its Dr. Sanders goal to keep Wichita smiling every day.
Dr. Suman Gorantla grew up in South India and graduated dental school with degrees in General Dentistry and Orthodontics. He was ranked first for the All India Post Graduate Dental Admissions Test and practiced in India for two years. When he came to America, he attended dental school for the second time! He earned his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry from Boston University, his Master of Dental Science in Orthodontics from the University of Pittsburgh, and his Master of Public Health at East Tennessee State University. He received the Compassionate Doctor award while completing his General Practice Residency at St. Barnabas Hospital and is a past president of the Wichita District Dental Society.
Dr. Gorantlas passion for orthodontics started when he was in dental school and followed his cousin, who was in his orthodontic residency. He saw firsthand what orthodontics can do to put smiles on the faces of young kids, and has made it his life goal to make a difference in kids lives. He really enjoys interacting with patients and families. He loves his team and enjoys coming to work. Dr. Gorantla and the team at Smiles Ortho work very hard and are fun, welcoming and very easy to talk to.
Dr. Suman Gorantla is a board certified orthodontist. To earn board certification, an orthodontist must complete two to three years of additional training after dental school. Employing the highest standards of care and lifelong learning, board certification is a voluntary credential that reflects the personal commitment of an orthodontist. Only one-third of orthodontists are board certified, and this achievement demonstrates expert judgment, skill and knowledge while pursuing continual education.

As a Wichita native, Dr. Kristen Wellemeyer Sander is proud to help put smiles on the faces of people right in her hometown. After developing an interest in orthodontics while shadowing an orthodontist in Kansas City, Dr. Sander became increasingly more passionate about the field. She continued to learn throughout dental school until it became her dream to provide excellent orthodontic care to patients looking to transform their smiles.
While at UMKC School of Dentistry, she worked hard to stay at the top of her class and earn a place in her universitys orthodontics residency program. She then practiced in the Kansas City area for four years following graduation from residency in 2015. With a lifelong goal of coming back home to Wichita, Dr. Sander returned to her hometown with her husband John and their children, Michael, Henry and Rosalie.
Dr. Sander loves how orthodontics can do far more than simply help patients straighten their teeth. Orthodontics can truly transform a patients smile in ways that change their lives. She can improve their overall health by influencing the growth and development of the facial bones, improving dental function for day-to-day life and a series of other powerful benefits that come from a bright, beautiful and healthy smile. The staff is so incredibly kind & polite. I HATE the dentist but Emily explained everything she was doing & my anxiety was just fine! Seriously amazing dental clinic!

It has been an amazing time since I have been here. And it has been a long journey, but through it all everyone I have worked with has been more than exemplary. I have grown to consider all of the staff to be my friends and have had fun bonding with each and everyone of them. I will never be able to thank all of them enough for the bright and straight smile they have given me. But still, I am so happy and thankful for all the care and support I received. And I wish them all the best!!!!

For the last 14 years, on and off, our family has travelled 2 hours each way to receive orthodontic care at Smiles Orthodontics. Dr. G, Dr. Sanders and the entire staff were compassionate, professional, understanding and interested in the patient and her family. Smiles helped 3 of my daughters on the journey from having big beautiful teeth in small mouths to having big beautiful straight teeth, healthy mouths, correctly aligned bites and amazing smiles. The corrections were about more than cosmetics. Dr. G guided us through gum grafts and tooth removals from other dental care professionals. It is hard to believe our family's time at Smiles is complete. We are beyond pleased with the experience and outcome.

Smiles Orthodontics is awesome! Both of our kids are patients. Smiles is affordable and their service and care is outstanding - respectful, efficient and clean. They take time to explain processes and answer questions. We've never had a bad experience at any of our appointments!

Dr. G and Dr. Sanders were amazing in the short time I've been seeing them. Every tech who helped me each visit was super nice and friendly. There are some really great people working here and the doctors are very talented! I would 100% recommend Smiles Orthodontics!

Smiles is amazing! The doctors and staff are fun to work with and treat you like family. You aren't just another teenager going through the braces world, you are a real person. One of our children had traditional braces and the other had invisiligners. Both were pain-free experiences. If you need braces, Smiles is the place to go!
