Dr. Ragsdales Dental Background How did Dr. Ragsdale decide to become a dentist? He shadowed multiple dentists throughout his college career and had some very influential mentors during this time. After looking into other professional paths, he felt drawn to this field because of the constant, direct interactions with patients! He loves being able to help people not only achieve better health, but maintain it as well over time.
Exceptional Education After attending Brigham Young University for his undergraduate degree, Dr. Ragsdale pursued his Doctor of Dental Surgery at UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry. He also completed an advanced residency in 2017, acquiring surgical and IV sedation skills. Today, he continues to focus his further training on these advanced areas so that he can offer patients and families with the highest quality of care possible.
Outside of the Dental Office Dr. Ragsdale is from McKinney, and he speaks three different languages. His wife, Jessica, and five children all enjoy the outdoors. He loves spending his free time embarking on adventures with his little kids, such as swimming, kayaking, hiking, biking, fishing, and simply exploring the world. His children even wear safari adventure vests, and they have a family theme song!
Intravenous IV Sedation Intravenous sedation, also known as twilight sleep or conscious sedation, will put you in a safe, relaxed, and comfortable state throughout your surgery. It is the most effective means of reducing awareness and anxiety for dental procedures. It is administered through an intravenous line (IV), and is therefore much more predictable in terms of effectiveness due to the quick onset of action. Although the patient is technically conscious throughout the procedure, in most cases, they will be completely unaware of the dental procedure. The disadvantage of conscious sedation is, of course, the increased cost and the need for an escort home after the procedure. But, for the patient who wants to be the most comfortable during the procedure, it is certainly the best way to go.

Everyone at this office is simply excellent and provides service and skill that is superior to others in the area. Dr. Jafferly has a level of skill, knowledge, and manner that is better than other dentists I have had in over 50 years. His staff is dilligent, on top of activities and needs, and pleasant to work with. Highly recommended.

I am a new patient here and I am really impressed with Dr. Jaferally. He was kind, knowledgeable and took the time to attentively listen to my concerns and answer all my questions. He was able to find out what was causing my problem and quickly gave me options for my best treatment. I highly recommend this practice.

I had a filling come off while brushing my teeth last night. Appointment set the very next day for 12:00. They made me feel like a VIP. It was a great experience. I wasn't terribly excited about having to spend my day off at the dentist office. I was out by 2:00 with a slightly numb smile on my face. Professional + Clean + Comfortable

I came in for a tooth extraction. Super fast and flexible people here. They worked with my budget and gave me honest options with pros and cons. Not only that the tooth extraction was over before I noticed, 10 minutes and bam tooth out. I'd highly recommend this place and staff. Super friendly, fast and just overall a painless visit.

Stay away from this money trap. They are the rudest receptionists and doctor with fake smile. The doctor is simply lie to take your money. They don't have qualified doctor for root treatment and trying to force me pay more for ct scan $250 which is not covered by insurance. I need a root treatment. they say I need a specialist which some person comes this office and they need to convince him to come. Just because for this they force me to ct scan. I said i dont want to and they refuse to treatment. So i asked my xrays which i paid. They are not sending it. I called more than 10 times in two days and they only says we are sending now but they didn't. They don't care if you are in pain or not. They just care how much money take from you. Now I have to wait weekend with painful teeth and have new xrays and more radiation. I am so regret to choose this dentistry. Also my insurance cover the check up and visits. This place force you to use mouth wash and charge you $5 for it. This is so cheap effort to earn some money.

Dr. Jafferally is the most awesome General Dentistry Doctor I have ever seen. He is very patient, detailed oriented and works incredibly. I received a deep cleaning that required anesthesia and I felt wonderful the whole time. His front office staff has amazing personalities, Megan & Sharon make sure you leave Smiles On Greatwood comfortable and happy. I would definitely recommend this office

1000% satisfied! I have Invisalign, and I couldn't be happier. I have had braces before, so I can honestly compare both. No pain with my Invisalign, and the whole process is so quick. I'm not done with all of my Invisalign trays yet, but I already see a huge difference. There are no more spaces in between my teeth. Highly recommend Smiles on Greatwood. Everyone there is wonderful and accommodating. If you're on the fence about Invisalign, just do it, you definitely won't regret it. The only regret I have was not doing this sooner.

Great practice, they take your vitals (temp, blood pressure, O2, pulse) at every visit, mouthwash before the visit as well. Every time I've gone the wait was not too long and I was in and out with what I needed done that day.
