Dr. Ahn, a part of Silicon Valley tradition of dental comfort and care, attended University of California, Los Angeles, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and she received a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at graduate of the University of Southern California's School of Dentistry. Her emphasis on patient comfort as well as keeping up-to-date with the latest advancements in dentistry enable her to provide her patients with the best quality of care in the field. Dr. Ahn is a firm believer in continuing education (CE) and she has completed thousands of hours of CE courses in a variety of phases of dentistry including, but not limited to, Cosmetics, Dental Implants, Conscious Sedation, Endodontics, Periodontics, Sterilization and Infection Control.
Dr. Ahn is certified to perform Invisalign orthodontics, Orthopedic Appliance and Braces by United States Dental Institute, Implant by Osstem Hiossen Institute and Pediatric Oral Conscious Sedation by UCLA School of Dentistry. Dr. Ahn has also become an expert in Anesthetic Injection where very few people will feel much discomfort. Many of our patients have complimented on her injection technique which makes her a great dentist for patients with fear of dentistry.

I have been going to this dental office for the past 6 years and every time I visited, the staff has been very gracious and generous. Also, the service very great and they help me find the right time for appointments. The receptionist (Mayra) are very friendly and look forward to helping the customer. It is also very efficient for children, and explain the problem in a very friendly way where the kid and parents can understand the problem/solution. My family had lots of dental issues recently, so I was looking for a good dentist. My neighbor highly recommended Dr.Ahn and it was lucky for my family! First of all, Dr.Ahn is very skilled and all of staff are very gentle and friendly. Plus the facility is clean and practical. My son has always had a fear of dental care, however, Dr.Ahn always explains the whole process of the treatment so that he wouldn't worry. Also my husband recently has finished implant as well with Dr.Ahn. We are satisfied with all of these successful treatments, my family strongly recommends Smile on Family Dental!

This is the best dental office I have found for my son and I. My son hated the dentist, we went to every children's dental imaginable with no luck. Once we found this office we knew we would never go anywhere else. Dr. Any is so gentle, kind and patient! She explains everything to not only me but to my son as well. We are both so comfortable going to see her. The staff here is amazing! Mayra at the front desk is always so helpful. She really goes above and beyond for you. She is efficient and does her best to schedule appointments around your schedule. I highly recommend this dental office!

Love Dr. Ahn, she's treated our whole family for a few years now, but the receptionist, Mayra, is difficult. Mayra started doing the appointment reminder calls earlier and earlier, first a week, then two, and the last time I received a call an entire month before my appointment! What's the point of a reminder then? What happened to calls a day before? Luckily, I'm careful with my calendar. But I've frequently had calls on my appointment day asking if I can come earlier or later than my scheduled time due to the fluctuating schedule of that day. That's not okay when I make my appointments around my work and meetings schedule, or my children's school schedule, so 30 minutes makes a huge change and is not always do-able, especially as I have a 30-45 minute commute from work. Our last issue was that my children had an appointment next month on 10/6 but we had a conflict and my son's tooth has been hurting, so their father emailed to ask for an earlier appointment. Back and forth emails suggesting dates and times that were this month (in September), and then the last email gave a three-week later date than the original date. My children's father, not even noticing that the suggested appointment was 10/27, not 9/27, told me the appointment was Sept 27th. So I show up yesterday with my children, who are kept waiting for over 20 minutes before I ask about timing, only to be told we showed up on the wrong day. While my children's father did confuse the dates, so that is on us, if we had asked for an EARLIER date than 10/6, why was a 10/27 even suggested? And why did nobody greet us and tell us that when my children first walked in? Luckily, Dr. Ahn was kindly able to see the child with the hurting tooth to help him, but as usual, Mayra was unsympathetic to our plight and very offhand. The hygienists have always been fine, but the last one actually hurt a little-I left crying in pain and Dr. Ahn was kind and concerned and followed up. So very torn on this practice. Love the doctor, but strongly dislike the scheduling issues. If you don't mind attitude and rudeness from the receptionist for a good dentist, then I recommend them.

My coworker recommended Smiles on Family Dental since my husband, and I looked for a new dentist in San Jose. Dr. Ahn is amazing. She explains my dental condition and the treatment plan in every detail. Also, the dental hygienist, Phuong, is the best hygienist I've ever had. She cleans the teeth very gently and thoroughly without any discomfort.
