DO NOT RECOMMEND. Completely wasted my time, which is so unprofessional. Poor communication. I'm new to the area and needed to establish a dental clinic so I picked this place because they had the earliest appointment. I worked around my work schedule and took time off for this appointment. My appointment was today, 10/31. They sent me a text message on Friday 10/28 at 8:42am and expected me to confirm this appt before noon even though that was not specified in the initial text message. I confirmed at 2:28pm, and they still canceled my appointment, which I wasn't aware of until I went in for my appointment. The receptionist told me it was in their new patient documents that It was a requirement to confirm. I'm not sure if it's common for them to only give patients a 3 hours window to confirm appts? 1. I got a new number and while my old phone is still active for another month, I went into the office to complete new patient paperwork on 10/24 and provided my new phone number. What is the point of providing all this information and providing my new number for them to update it when they still didn't bother to update my info. They had a whole week to update my number and still didn't. 2. They then sent another text message to my old phone today at 7:35AM, which I didn't see, stating that the appointment was canceled. Still never bothered to update my phone number. I decided not to make another appointment and decided to go else where. My suggestion is for the employees to update patient information when we provide that information in advance already and send text message confirmation and reminders to the correct phone numbers. I've never experienced this before with the dental clinics where I used to live where they would just never update your phone number, give you such a short window to confirm and just cancel your appointment and then give you a super short notice again the day of.

My first review: Had two extremely painful cavities hit at same time. They were able to squeeze me in and did 2 root canals and crowns for me. Crowns fit perfectly. Any issues I had they were happy to fix and in no time. Staff makes u feel totally comfortable and I definitely appreciate that! LESS THAN 2 YEARS LATER: had temp crown fall off twice, permanent one fell off 3 times, and my just cracked

Update: I have completed my appointments for Dental work. The doctor did a fantastic job, he was patient and caring. He made my comfort his biggest priority he was extremely professional and understanding. Erika (hopefully spelled that correct if not I apologize) was a godsend. She was extremely understanding, nice, and caring she did her very best to ensure my comfort. Both treated me with respect. I can't say enough about how they treated me. I had to go back for an adjustment and worked with Adam he was awesome as well. I would recommend them to anyone I know especially if they fear dental visits like myself. Thank You =================================================== My first experience with Smiles On Calumet I wasn't impressed. The staff seemed cold and distant and not understanding of fears that people have of Dental work. That quickly changed I returned back just a few months later and the staff had an overhaul and they are all incredible. I have worked with Hygienist Debra who is incredibly understanding patient and caring. I have now worked with her twice and every time has been an awesome experience. The rest of the staff seems very understanding of anxiety related to dental work and makes it their priority to ensure that their patients are comfortable during any procedure. I have to have dental work done in the near future but I dread it less because I know I will be in great hands.

Everyone is so nice and kind! The dental assistant that I had today was very respectful and told me everything she was doing beforehand. She answered all the questions I had about Invisalign and was able to help me schedule an appointment to get started with that right away! Highly recommend Smiles on Calumet!

Great experience. My insurance was challenging, but the office staff continued to reach out well before my appointment . Hygienist and dentist were efficient, and provided great care.

Made a new patient appointment for my daughter, advising of my concern of a potential cavity. They confirmed they could see her. I brought her in and she was in a dental chair for maybe 5 minutes, confirmed she had the start of a cavity that should be filled but told me I need to see pediatric dentist instead due to age. After giving me a referral, the new place isn't taking new patients for several months and would require a "consult" before making appointment anyway. The staff was kind, but they honestly just wasted my time and money. I would not recommend taking children here, as it seems they are not equipped to provide them with care.
