From a young age, Dr. Harbpinder Shevchenko has enjoyed working with and helping people. After becoming a dentist, she built a caring team to enable each patient to get the care they need in a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere.
Education and prevention are very important to Dr. Shevchenko. Working together, she and her team help each patient maintain healthy smiles for their whole lifetime. She inspires her staff at Smiles of Salem to follow her passion for treating every patient as though they were a member of their family.
After receiving a Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree in India in 2003, Dr. Shevchenko came to America to continue her education. She received her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree at Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine in 2009.

Mouthguards are an excellent way to prevent damage to the teeth. Many people grind their teeth during sleep which can eventually wear away the teeth almost to the gumline. A night guard prevents this kind of harm.

Our patients who receive dental implants have the most satisfactory and natural replacements possible for missing teeth. For these procedures, Dr. Shevchenko only works with the most skilled oral surgeons in her area.
First, a trusted oral surgeon places the titanium implant in the jaw. Then Dr. Shevchenko monitors healing and places the replacement teeth for the patient. In this way, the patient gets the highest level of skill at each phase of this procedure.
Individual dental implants are the perfect way to replace single teeth that have been lost. After the implant has been placed in the bone and has gone through the healing and bonding process, Dr. Shevchenko prepares a crown and securely attaches it to the implant.
By anchoring both bridges and dentures to dental implants, Dr, Shevchenko can provide patients with the most positive experience possible. Patients receiving implant-supported bridges can preserve healthy teeth on either side of the gap. These teeth wont need reshaping because the implant will serve as the foundation for the new tooth.
Patients with partial or complete dentures anchored by implants also have a secure foundation for their restorations. With implants acting as a stable base for these restorations, partial and complete dentures wont shift, theyre more comfortable and patients experience fewer restrictions.

I know that going to the dentist is not something that people look forward to, but since dental health care is a necessity, choosing the right one can make a huge difference. The staff at Smiles of Salem are not only very professional, knowledgeable and highly skilled , they are also all very kind and caring. They make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. Dr. Shevchenko takes the time to explain things to you and answer any questions that you may have and Wendy, who works at the front desk, reviews your visit with you in detail to make sure that you are comfortable with everything. I had to switch dentists about a year or so ago and started going to Dr. Shevchenko at Smiles of Salem and I have to say I have had a really great experience there. Everyone in the office is so welcoming and friendly. Dr. Shevchenko is extremely professional and always so nice. I also feel everyone has educated me more around my teeth and gum health than prior dentists which I love. I highly recommend Smiles of Salem if you are looking for a new dentist!
