Dr. Hilehito Gene Lin has resided in the Chicago land area most of his life. Dr. Lin is originally a Hoosier, born in Crown Point, Indiana. He made Dean's List and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Northwestern University in 1998.
Dr. Lin earned his DDS degree from the Indiana University School of Dentistry in 2003. Dr. Lin is a General Dentist who provides a wide range of dental procedures for the entire family, with a strong emphasis on making sure you are comfortable before the beginning of even the simplest of procedures.
Digital records on workstations and tablets make it easier for us to deliver fast and accurate care. We can access your history with just a click of the mouse or a tap of a tablet pen, so we can easily track any developing conditions or changes in your health. Additionally, digital x-rays can be stored in your record for fast retrieval and comparison.
Since the x-rays are transmitted electronically, we can view them almost instantly without having to wait for film to develop. We view the images on computer monitors, making it easier to zoom in for a better view and explain any concerns we have to you much more easily. This makes digital x-rays a valuable patient education tool.
Unlike traditional film x-rays, digital x-rays dont require chemicals to develop, and they are stored electronically in your digital file. This means digital x-rays are less wasteful and a much better choice for the environment.
A laser is an instrument that produces a very narrow, intense beam of light energy. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has determined that laserscan be used as a safe and effective treatment for a wide range of dental procedures. Some of them include:correct speech problems caused by a tongue-tie,uncover partially erupted wisdom teeth,remove inflamed gum tissues and reduce the amount of bacteria within a periodontal pocket,remove muscle pulls, as seen in orthodontic patients, andreduce the discomfort of canker and cold sores.
Although we wont argue with the valuable information we can get from a digital x-rays, they cant show us everything thats going on in your mouth. An intraoral camera gives us an even higher level of detail.
This tiny piece of equipment packs a big punch when it comes to giving us a thorough tour of your entire mouth. The handpiece is similar to a dental mirror with its own built-in light source. It can zoom in on areas of your mouth that the digital x-ray doesnt show.
DSLR cameras provide great images and flexibility. They offer a very high-quality image and enables patients to see things better. Dr. Lin also uses the DSLR camera when communicating with patients about what he sees and to show the progress of orthodontic treatment.
There are only two settings on an air-powered drill, on and off, which translates into more pressure and speed than are necessary in many circumstances as well as less precision. Electric handpieces are capable of variable RPM configurations as set by the operator.

I came to Smiles of Round Lake about 3 years ago and I highly recommend Dr Lin and his staff. I always feel comfortable and listened to. Dr Lin is gentle, considerate, honest, professional and an excellent dentist!

I had a tooth filling today and as usually it was a pleasant experience . Dr Lin always make sure that you are comfortable and his ways and how he work with his hands is always gentle and no pain at all. also I set a schedule with my special needs son, he and his crew are professionals and know how to make things comfortable and less anxious with my son. they are compassionate and get things done with ease. I highly recommend Dr. Lin in Smiles of Round Lake. Thank You.

Dr. Lin is very gentle during procedure. He was so gentle that my husband fell asleep during his cavity fillings. The best thing is that Dr. Lin doesn't just go ahead and do things to your teeth. He discusses the situation with you. Explaining what need to be done with your teeth and respect your decisions on them. My husband and I have been his loyal customers for many years before we moved away. I would definitely 100% recommend Dr. Lin.

dr. lin is THE SWEETEST dentist! he's intentional about making sure you feel informed and explaining things along the way. he's very considerate of feelings and emotions, including you in decisions along the way. HIS STAFF is chock full of DELIGHTFUL ladies who mirror dr. lin's care and joy! inside this unassuming little building is the best place for mouth bone care!

Dr. Lin is an excellent dentist, our entire family are established patients at Smiles of Round Lake. We always have a very pleasant experience with Dr. Lin and his staff. A few years back, my daughter had a bad experience at local pediatric dentist and was very anxious about her first appointment and any procedure, but Dr. Lin was very patient with her and spend a lot of time trying to calm her down, the staff was very helpful and kind and always available to help. Dr. Lin takes the time to explain what needs to be done and provides valuable advice, he's the first dentist who paused to ask if anything hurt and it was the first time we experienced totally pain-free dentistry. We're so blessed to have found Dr. Lin! It's not easy to find a good dentist for the entire family specially for your kids, we highly recommend Dr. Lin and his staff for your family.

Smiles of Round Lake and Dr. Lin have given me and my family the best dentistry experience that we have ever had. If you are looking for a dentist, we highly recommend paying them a visit. I am extremely grateful that we found them and now have a long running relationship. They take care of my entire family and actually treat all of us as if we were their own family. We have had a range of services done from cleaning and fillings to having a full set of braces done. Never have we left anything but pleased, even looking forward to return visits.

I have been going to Dr. Lin since he took over from the previous dentist (and went to the previous dentist, LR, since I was a kid!) Dr. Lin and his staff are great. They are all gentle, kind and take time to answer your questions and concerns. Highly recommend!!
