Dr. Mario J. Martinez was raised in Miami, FL, and attended Christopher Columbus High School, class of 1988. He graduated from the University of Florida (Bachelors of Science in Advertising) in 1993 and the University of Iowa (Doctor of Dental Surgery) in 1998. While at the University of Iowa, he was presented with the Deans Leadership Award his senior year.
After graduation, he completed a two-year residency in pediatric dentistry at Lutheran Medical Center (LMC) in New York City where he served as Chief Resident his second year and taught at NYUs College of Dentistry. While at LMC he published an article in the journal of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry titled The New Era of Pretracheal/Precordial Stethoscopes.
Dr. Martinez is involved in many local dental study clubs and has served as President of the Rivera Dental Study Club and South Dade Dental Study Club. He has lectured locally and internationally on Pediatric Dentistry. In 2009, he presented a lecture in Barbados to the Caribbean Dental Conference titled, Nitrous Oxide and Pediatric Dentistry.

I was born and raised in Miami and attended Palmetto for both middle and high school. Im grateful that I can serve the community that I grew up in, creating beautiful smiles for generations of South Florida families.
Creating a beautiful smile takes time, and I truly value the relationships we build with our patients during treatment. I love the journey of transforming each smile and watching the personalities of our patients blossom throughout treatment.
Smiles of Palmetto Bay is committed to giving back to the community that we are a part of. Dr. Martinez and Dr. Ross volunteer as members of the Craniofacial team at Nicklaus (Miami Childrens) Hospital.
Additionally, we participate in many fundraising events in South Florida. From 5ks to donating orthodontic and pediatric dental treatment to those in need, we believe in giving back to the community that has supported us over the years.

I recently had a consultation with Dr. Ross. I was looking for information about Invisalign. I walked in without an appointment and the receptionist and assitant were extremely helpful and kind to me. I was alone with my 1year old son and they both helped me so much. They were both so patient not only with me, but with my son. The process for initial consultation was super easy and quick. The final step was talking to Dr. Ross about what I was looking for and what his recommendations were based on his evaluation. I was very pleased with the entire process and service provided, so without any hesitation I decided to get Invisaligners. Can't wait to start! Super recommended.

My family and I enjoyed our visit to this office. It was an initial consultation for braces for both my boys. The staff was friendly and the facility was clean. The doctor came to see us and clearly explained the situation with both of my sons. He was patient and answered any questions we had as did his assistant.

I chose Dr. Ross because as soon as I talked to him I knew I had found the right place and I was in good hands, He is always willing to take time to explain each step of the treatment, the staff has always been so polite and accommodating to my busy schedule needs. I never have to wait long, excellent quality of care and service... The place is new, clean and high tech...After a few short months, I already can see the change in my smile and can't wait to see when it's done. I picked Invisalign over normal braces because you can't see them and they straighten your teeth just as well...Best alternative to braces. I love mine! I feel so much confident. I definitely can't see myself wearing anything else. I highly recommend Smiles Of Palmeto Bay.
