Dr. Mezquia served in the US Air Force for four years as a dental assistant/hygienist. He graduated from Nova Southeastern University with a bachelors degree in biology and later obtained his doctorate of dental medicine degree at NSU College of Dental Medicine. He then went on to complete a 1-year advanced education in general dentistry residency in Albany, New York, at the Albany-Stratton VA Medical Center.
Dr. Mezquia is an active member of the prestigious Academy of General Dentistry and is working towards becoming an honorary Fellow. He strongly believes in the value of continuing education and has completed advanced courses in Implant dentistry.
He has coordinated and volunteered in multiple mission trips to the Dominican Republic to provide free dental services to those in need. In his spare time, he really enjoys watching action and comedy movies, as well as gardening, playing pool, spending time with family and friends, and bowling.

The staff is just simply amazing. They are fun, helpful, and just fill of good vibes. The dentist is so passionate about the dental sciences that it is visible in his eyes that he truly enjoys teaching patients about their dental situations and is so patient in explaining everything. I cannot foresee any situation where I would ever need to change dentist unless I physically moved out of the area. So happy to be a patient here!!

Smiles of Ocoee is my new favorite dentist office! I usually get a lot of anxiety visiting a new dentist, but this wonderful team made me feel very much at home. From the warm reception, to being seen by Dr. Mezquia, I had a seamless and worry free visit. I love how friendly and inviting everyone is! It really feels like you're a member of the family when you walk through those doors. I also love how it's a family business, because it makes you feel very much at ease knowing that whole team is invested in your care.
