Dr. Makki earned his dental degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago. While in dental school, he served as class president and was involved in many research projects. He received the Frances Best Matkins award in recognition of his outstanding leadership skills and academic excellence. Dr. Makki went on to further his education in the field of orthodontics at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he graduated with honors and received the best resident award.
Dr. Karateew is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and Implant Surgery. He received his certificates in Periodontics and Fixed Prosthodontics from the University of Pennsylvania. With more than 20 years in practice, he has placed and restored over 8,000 dental implants. He is currently the Clinical Associate Professor and Program Director of Advanced Education in Periodontology at UIC College of Dentistry in Chicago, Illinois.
Recognized as an international expert and authority on implant dentistry & osseointegration, he has given numerous presentations in implant dentistry in over 20 countries and has written many clinically relevant articles, authored textbook chapters on the subject, and served as the medical editor for a reference book on 3-D imaging for dental applications.

In the past, at other dentist offices they would just tell me I needed 2 root canals and charge me a lot of money. Here they x-ray, measure and examine each tooth and your gums and tell you exactly whats wrong. I received awesome service, with no pain in my mouth or my pocket! lol
