Dr. Schultz received his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin at Eau Claire. He later completed his graduate studies in 1998 at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. While attending school, Dr. Schultz was elected as class president. He continues his education regularly today and has taken classes from Dr. Pete Dawson and Dr. Frank Spear.
Our dentist is an active member of several dental associations, including the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the Minnesota Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Dr. Schultz received his Mastership award in the Academy of General Dentistry and he is currently the president of the Minnesota Academy of General Dentistry.
When Dr. Schultz was growing up in Ladysmith, Wisconsin, he was actively involved in his boy scout troupe and attained the rank of Eagle Scout. In his spare time, he enjoys the outdoors, weightlifting, and scuba diving, in which he has achieved the level of Scuba Dive Master. He is married to Meghan, an elementary school teacher with the Minneapolis public schools.
Jill joined Smiles of Distinction in 2013. She started in the dental profession as an assistant, then moved into an administrative role in 2002. She has over 25 years of dental experience and loves every aspect of the dental environment; especially the relationships she has developed over the years. She works really hard to ensure every patient in the practice is a priority, and each individual has their own dental wants and needs. She truly cares about every single individual who walks through the door! Jill enjoys spending her free time with her friends and family; husband Greg, twin daughters; Katelyn and Alissa, and Son; Nick and cant forget to mention her two Great Danes: Kobe and Otis.
Karlye joined Smiles of Distinction in 2014. She earned her bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of Minnesota in 2007 and has practiced in private practice since. Karlyes highest priority is putting the patients at ease while helping them understand the connection between their dental health and their overall health. When not at Smiles of Distinction Karlye enjoys cooking, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and watching football-especially the Denver Broncos! Her true loves are her husband, their daughter and their rescue dogs!
Kassie joined Smiles of Distinction shortly after graduation in June 2012 as a licensed and certified dental assistant and has enjoyed her career ever since. Kassie prioritizes our patients comfort, knowledge, and understanding of treatment. When not working, Kassie enjoys spending time with family and friends, especially summer months out on the St Croix River. Kassie lives in Farmington with her husband Eric Sons Finn and Liam, and dog Addie.
Sheryl joined smiles of distinction in 2016 as our Sterilization Specialist. Her many years of experience as a registered nurse in the Adult medical/surgical unit at the University of MN Hospital/Fairview has been a asset to our sterilization procedures and processes. Sheryl grew up on a resort on Leech Lake outside of Walker, Minnesota. She currently lives in Savage with her husband, Rick. Sheryl enjoys traveling and bringing treats for her fellow team members at Smiles of Distinction!
Kari joined Smiles of Distinction in 2018. Her main goal is patient comfort and getting to know her patients. She graduated from Lakeland Dental Academy in 1999 and has been a dental assistant for over 20 years. Kari enjoys spending time with her daughter, Brianna, her friends, and her three dogs.

Dr. Bart has been my dentist for over 20 years. I'd trust him to do any procedure I needed. Don't let the fact that he grew up in Wisconsin bother you, he won't make you talk about the Packers. But he may ask you to listen to Willie Nelson.

Love the staff, always attentive and patient with me. Makes a trip to the dentist much easier for the chicken in me. I have had many crowns done under sedation and I couldn't get the work done any other way. The staff had always taken great care of me. Highly recommend Smiles of Distinction.

Wow! What can I say? During my first visit they found an impacted wisdom tooth that was basically about to crack my jaw open. It should have been discovered YEARS earlier by my previous dentist. My hygienist is thorough and gentle, the support staff is super helpful and makes billing and claims easy. Dr. Bart is the best, very skilled, personable and caring.

I love having my teeth cleaned and my insurance allows me to do so 4 times a year. Here is a few reasons why I it's been a great experience for years. Karlye is the Hygienist and I love having her clean my teeth - she does such an awesome job and we share a bunch of laughs!! At my last cleaning I had a popcorn hull stuck in between my gum and tooth. It was there for weeks and I tried everything to take care of whatever was causing the trouble. Karlye fixed it up and I had immediate relief. Jill is the Office Manager and she is always very friendly and helpful. Dr Bart takes extra time with patients to make sure everything is going good with them and usually has a funny story to share. LOVE getting my teeth cleaned and the entire staff really makes you feel welcomed and they all take such good care of you!!

This dental practice was once owned by Dr. David Linde, who was absolutely outstanding. I went there for many years. Some time ago, Dr. Linde sold his practice to Dr. Schultz. I now have been seeing Dr. Schultz and his team (Kassie, Karlye, Kari and Jill) for the past four years. The level of service, professionalism, patient care and comfort is nothing short of outstanding. I highly recommend Smiles of Distinction to anyone looking for your next dentist.
