Dr. Ko is one of Smiles of Carolinas partner dentists. He is a graduate of UNC dental school and upon receiving his dental degree, continued his education, receiving a Masters degree in Public Health at UNC. Dr. Ko spent three years, while in pursuit of his masters, providing care to the under-served population of Halifax county and Eastern regions of North Carolina. He enjoys all aspects of dentistry, particularly treating children. When away from the office, Dr. Ko enjoys time with his family and exploring new cultures. He will be happy to answer any questions you have about your dental health.
Dr. Mark is one of Smiles of Carolinas partner dentists. Originally from the state of NJ, Dr. Mark graduated UMDNJ NJ Dental School in 2003. He went on to proudly serve our country in the United States Air Force, during which he obtained immeasurable experience in many aspects of Dentistry. Throughout his training and practice, Dr. Mark has never forgotten what matters most, which is helping others in need. In his spare time, Dr. Mark enjoys spending time with his wife and son, traveling, skiing and playing hockey. He strives to ensure your visit at Smiles of Carolina is pleasant and comfortable.
Jessica is originally from Wendell, NC. She joined our team in 2014 as the treatment coordinator and has transitioned to the Office Manager. Jessica enjoys building a strong relationship with our patients.
Ayalivis is our Dental Assistant II since 2012, and received certification fromWake Technical Community College. She has been assisting for ten years, andstill loves it. Originally from Dominican Republic, is fluent in both Spanish and English, enjoys spending time with her three children, as well as cooking and visiting her family in the DRwheneverpossible. Working in the dental field has been very enjoyablebecauseshe loves to help people achieve their dental goalsand leavewith a smile.
Codi is our Registered Dental Hygienist since 2015, graduated from Halifax Community College. She was born and raised in north Raleigh, NC. She enjoys weekend trips to the beach and spending time with friends and family. Codi has 'always had a thing for teeth' and knew at a very young age she wanted to be a hygienist because 'smiles are the first thing noticed on people'. Building relationships with patients is one of her favorite parts about being a dental hygienist.
Dara is our Registered Dental Hygienist since 2018, graduated from Wayne Community College, in Goldsboro, in 2014. Dara started in the dental field in 2010 as a dental assistant. She was born near Queens, New York but grew up in Cary. She now lives in Clayton with her husband and two children. Dara loves any kind of gardening and being outside, board games with her friends and family, a good television series and loving on her pet chickens. What Dara enjoys most about being a hygienist is seeing patients reach their optimal dental health.
Karina is our DANB Certified Dental Assistant since 2016, graduated from the dental assisting program at Wake Technical Community College in 2012. Born in Mexicoand hasbeen living in NC sinceshe was a child. In her free time, she enjoys watching movies, reading, and spending timewith her family and friends. She is fluent in both English and Spanish. Working in the dental fieldhas been veryrewardingfor her because she gets to help patients feel comfortablewhile taking care of their dental needs during their visit.
Kelsie is originally born in Maryland but raised in Johnston county. As the treatment coordinator, Kelsie loves building relationships with patients, making sure they feel they are important to us and them understanding the importance of their dental health. When she is not at work you can typically find her spending time with her husband and son, and enjoying time at their pool with friends!
Judy is originally from South Korea. She graduated from UNC-CH with a Masters Degree in Library and Information Science, then attended Wake Tech for Culinary arts. Judy joined our team in September 2019. Judy is very dedicated to assisting our patients with their insurance needs. When Judy is not in our office she enjoys running, hiking with her husband, or watching Netflix movies with her 2 boys.
Minh has been a part of our team since October 2019. She was born and raised in Da Nang, Viet Nam. She moved to Seattle, WA in the spring of 2014, and then relocated to Raleigh, NC to be closer to her family. Minh attended Wake Technical Community College and graduated in 2019 in Dental Hygiene. She loves being able to help patients achieve optimal dental health and a beautiful smile. Minh is proud to be a part of such a dedicated, compassionate practice. She wants to make sure you are comfortable during your treatment at Smiles of Carolina. Outside of the office, Minh enjoys cooking and eating different types of food, shopping, traveling and sharing special times with family
Yesenia is our Dental Assistant II since 2009 and works both as a patient coordinator and DA. Originally from Florida she enjoys spending quality time with her family & loves to help others when they need a hand. Fluent in both Spanish and English. Yesenia enjoys working in the dental field because she loves to see great smiles.
So far so good. The staff was knowledgeable, friendly, and seemed genuine. Usually my blood pressure sky rockets when it comes to the dentist but they kept me calm and assured me everything would be fine. I will be going back. Debbie was very sweet and down to earth

Never been so completely comfortable and feel good to go to the dentist again. Great staff informative and they take the time to talk and explain things. My teeth are supper sensitive and they have never hurt me. They take their time. Thank you so much.

After the hygienist cleaned mt teeth, someone else came in to polish them . No one said she was leaving and I would see someone else nor did he tell me who he was. After I saw the dentist, whoever this polisher was, looked at the computer for a while. I thought he was going to set up an appointment for me. Instead he told me to follow him. We went the reception desk and I asked if I was supposed to make an appointment. He said i could or call when I wanted to. I left. It was the strangest visit I ever had. I left wondering what happened.

Staff was excellent as usual I was running late and may have needed to reschedule and at the last minute things worked out called back and they were able to see me Carolina smiles is great!! The whole staff is awesome would recommend. They are really compassionate and they care!

Everybody there is so nice It's hard to pinpoint one person but there was a gentleman who helped me get my wheelchair into the exam room and I appreciate that My back was to him so I had no idea who he was but it was very helpful because one door I couldn't get in so he wheeled me around to the other door so thank you very much for that!! I am always treated so kindly I really love coming to your office. I'm including the staff up front in this too thank you very much everybody making a non-pleasant issue a pleasant one!!

9/9/22.... You'll never guess where my favorite place to go is. Most people will not believe me but I am in LOVE with my dental office. I actually look forward to going there. From the call to schedule your appointment till you walk in the front door the girls are amazing. I used to have enormous anxiety going to the Dentist but when I found Smiles, Thanks to my hubby for saying "We should try these guys" We did and never looked back. Whether it's a cleaning with Dara (who is my girl) or Codi (who is my husband's girl) it's an amazing experience. We all have become friends! When I'm on the other side of the office getting actual work done, Dr. Mark is the Man! Livis, who is his assistant is my girl on that side of the house and she's the bomb too! Sweet, kind, concerned thats Livis, holding my hand for the PAIN-FREE injection that's needed for work being done. I've NEVER had a Dentist give a pain free needle , even in the roof of the mouth which is usually my hot spot. Dr. Mark makes getting work done such a pleasant experience! Relaxed, chill environment that is truly a blessing to have found! We're patients for life. Everyone in that office is a ray of sunshine. Now that's HARD TO FIND! Need a Dentist call Smiles of Carolina today!!!! Well guys,its time I update our total amazing experience with Smiles of Carolina! Dara once again gave me a womderful cleaning as usual. My husband uses Codi for his cleaning and raves about her as well. Livis is my girl that works with Dr. Mark who didnt find anything else that needed to be done. This is the best place in my opinion in the Raleigh/ Knightdale area. I will travel to get service that I love so I'm so lucky these guys are so close by to me! Always a pleasure dealing with the girls on the Administrative side as well. Pleasant, professional & fun! We love these guys! We aren't going anywhere else! I have never really been thrilled about going to the Dentist, But...all that has changed. Since I started going to Smiles of Carolina I actually look forward to my appointment. Dara is the most amazing hygienist. She's professional, extremely knowledgeable, adorable and best of all, makes my teeth feel fabulous! Dr. Mark is the Man. He gives the best injections. You don't even feel it when he gives a needle. That is worth its weight in gold to someone like me. I've had several procedures done by Dr. Mark and I adore him too. He gets the job done! Without pain! All the staff in the office and the hygienists working with Dr. Mark assisting procudures are the best. They are all the most polite, considerate & through when having, scheduling or being there for an appointment. The office is sparkling clean (another huge plus for me) and is that way every time! Especially now, during the Pandemic, they have never waived from the check in process to ensure the safety of staff and clients and I appreciate that immensely. My husband and I are are both patients now, we've finally found a place that we love! Call them today, you won't be disappointed!

Excellent service and great staff, every visit and everyone is friendly, I've been a client for several years and I wouldn't change my dental office. I think I've posted a review here before, but I'll do it again, because SOC is great. They are always nice, professional, and quick. They somehow make a dentist visit pleasant! *** UPDATE! They're still great! Getting a check-up is like a spa day for my teeth. I always feel welcome and at ease. I'll seriously consider returning in six months. (Who am I kidding? Of course I'll go back.)
