My five kids have grown up in this practice, both for dental and orthodontic work, and we have had 14+ years of nonstop positive experiences. The staff is excellent proficient and smart, but also loving and genuinely interested in the well-being of the families they serve. I absolutely recommend Smiles of Dripping Springs.

Smiles of Dripping Springs relentlessly pursues excellence by upholding the highest standard of care, understanding needs, and exceeding the expectations of each patient. We treat PEOPLE, not just teeth.

The SMILES philosophy is this: We treat people, not just teeth. This isnt just a cute phrase we throw around our entire business model is based on this idea. What does this mean for our pediatric dental patients?

  • We work hard to educate. Our goal is to provide families with the tools and knowledge they need to put a positive oral health care routine into practice. In dentistry, as with so many other things in life, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
  • We are conservative in our approach to restorative dental treatment. If we dont believe treatment is absolutely necessary, we wont recommend it. Period. This wait and see approach, when possible, means the world to our patients and continues to be the standard of integrity and excellence we are known for.
  • When you walk through our doors, youll instantly become part of the Smiles of Dripping Springs family! Our team has been together for many years, making it easy for you and your child will get to know and trust each and every one of our dental professionals.

Our combination dental and orthodontics office is built with patient comfort in mind. Each exam room offers atelevision with streaming services, blankets, headphones, and pillows. If your child suffers from dental anxiety or has special healthcare needs, our team is here to recommend a safe sedation option customized to their needs!

I always knew I wanted to pursue a career in the health care field. The big decision was medical or dental school? That decision was influenced by my friendship with Dr. Franklin, my wife Tara, who started a career in dentistry in high school, the desire to have more family/free time, and by reminiscing about my experiences at the dentist as a child.

I want my enthusiasm for creating a positive experience for each of my patients to be felt instantly. My goal for every patient that walks through the front door is to make them feel special and provide them with the best care available anywhere.

A perfect day at work for me would be, regardless of the procedures performed, having parents, patients and employees happy and exuding positive vibes. I want them to know that every member of the Smiles family cares about them as human beings. As our saying goes, Its so much more than teeth.

Dr. Collins completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Utah and subsequently relocated to Texas to manage a family business and attend dental school. He received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2003 and specialty diploma in pediatric dentistry in 2005, both from the University of Texas Dental School at San Antonio. During his residency, he completed extensive research in the area of cleft lip and palate. While in San Antonio he created an oral health community education program for preschool children and their parents.

I adore my family. Each of my four children are unique in their personalities, interests, and desires. My wife Tara is so good at capitalizing all of their strengths and making them feel loved. My only complaint is that they grow up too fast. Im constantly trying to convince my wife to have more.

My hobbies are usually the activities that my children enjoy. I try to align my interests with theirs. Occasionally, my desires take over and my interests which include the beach, fishing, golfing, and boating win out and my family pretends to have fun.

I am routinely looking for opportunities to give back. I have been blessed beyond belief in my life and I want to share my happiness with others. All volunteer service provides me with the same level of satisfaction, but one that I have been overly passionate about, is a dental clinic outside of Chennai, India that my family has developed and operates. That place gives me the opportunity to forget about my needs, desires, and wants, and focus my heart and talents on others. I also try to take every opportunity to help those in our own community who suffer from and experience natural catastrophes and mishaps outside of their control.

I am thankful this profession allows me to use my God-given talents and provide service outside of my office, to those who are less fortunate and would otherwise not receive the care they deserve. Ive always been passionate about community projects on behalf of childrens dental health.

Another activity that seemed to make dentistry a natural calling was his enjoyment of working with his hands and attention to detail. It was building model cars and airplanes in his childhood, today its creating beautiful healthy smiles.

After his third year of dental school he decided that the two aspects of dentistry he enjoyed most were pediatric dentistry and orthodontics, so he decided to specialize in both and completed an additional four years of school. He began his full-time private practice in orthodontics and pediatric dentistry in 1996, opening offices in Austin and Dripping Springs.

My goal for each patient that comes to Smiles of Austin and Smiles of Dripping Springs is for them to know that we truly care about them and want to give them the best treatment possible. I love creating life-changing smiles through the art and science of orthodontics and the relationships that are built through sincere care and trust. Seeing former patients stop by to visit us reminds me the relationship is what means the most!

A perfect day at work would be one where every patient had excellent oral hygiene, no broken brackets and 100% compliance on rubber band wear. We strive for 100% satisfaction with the care and service our office gives each day! I love my job and making others feel special.

A Texas native, Dr Franklin received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Texas Dental School at San Antonio in 1990. After completing his advanced training in pediatric dentistry in 1992, he then went on to receive his diploma in orthodontics from the University of Toronto in 1995. He was awarded diplomat status by the American Board of Orthodontics in 2007. He enjoys treating children with special needs and has extensive experience with cleft lip and palate. As a member of the Texas Orthodontic Study Club, he has won numerous awards for excellence in clinical orthodontic treatment. Even with so many accolades his favorite aspect is the patients. He takes great joy in watching his patients grow up in the practice, treating them from infancy to young adulthood.

I am blessed to have an amazing family! In 1986 while attending the University of Texas, I met my incredible wife, Sherry and we have three wonderful children, Jenna, Jace, and Josh. They are the perfect combination of love and grace. I have always loved Austin, the hills, lakes and natural beauty. I am so thankful to call it my home and raise my family here.

My dad instilled a love for the outdoors in me and I have tried to pass that on to my children. I love to hunt and fish with my family. And when time permits, watching the sun rise on any lake is what soothes my soul. Im a pretty simple guy.

I spend most of my free time volunteering as a coach and mentor. I love helping boys develop into young men who will someday lead their families and communities well. I also enjoy participating in community service projects with my church, Austin Ridge Bible Church.

Dr.Brunson is simply the best!! He his team were so incredible to me every step of the way through my braces, jaw surgery and post opp journey. Dr. Brunson has been an All star from day one. I did my homework, and As a graduate from Southern California (best dental school in the country) and his experience with complex cases, I knew I was in good hands. Treatment included: BSSO (lower jaw), Lefort (upper jaw), Braces for 7 months before surgery and 4 months post opp. Dr. Brunson sat me down at the beginning of this journey and our goal was to make this happen In under 12 months so I could be out of braces for my 30h birthday. He exceeded that and got them off 1 month prior to my big birthday celebration. Thank you smiles of Austin team!

Dr. B and all of the ladies are wonderful! They treated me so much kindness and really took the opportunity to get to know me. Not only that, but THIS SMILE! Dr. B was determined to get my crazy teeth in the most perfect condition! I did have one hiccup, completely a misunderstanding, early on and the office went above and beyond to handle it. I love this Smiles of Austin and the brilliant staff! Thank you all for changing my life!

We have been going to Smiles of Austin - Dripping Springs for more than a decade. Three of our four sons needed braces. One is jealous that he didn't get to be in the care of Kelly! She is simply the most warm, fun, loving person. Our boys LOVE her. Dr. Brunson was brand new when we started and he has a great bedside manner. Last week, we got our youngest son's braces off and we are so sad that we don't have a reason to go back--I may get some Invisalign JUST to be able to continue with them. From the moment you walk in the door, it is fun. The office design and hospitality alone makes you never want to leave. Their staff makes you feel like the only one in the room. It's easy to see why they have such high staff retention. I cannot recommend them highly enough. We drive up from another city, having moved from Dripping Springs and they are worth every mile!

I am incredibly grateful and excited to share my experience with Smiles- specifically with Dr. Brunson and his staff. This is simply the best place to be for you and/or your family members. Expert care, detailed follow-through, and client centered practice. Truly high end care that is only sought to be achieved at other practices. This is lengthy but worth the read if you are looking for the perfect fit: Personally, my journey is still in progress but so far has involved braces, jaw surgery, and a team of people supporting my care- including Dr. Brunson ("team lead" if you will). I am 26 years old and have always struggled with teeth grinding, tongue thrust, headaches, TMJ, and previously had a round of braces back in middle school. The push to go to Dr. Brunson presented when I visited my dentist for a regular cleaning. Combined with my other struggles, when she noticed teeth cracking, it pushed us both to discuss options to resolve and maintain the health and integrity of my teeth. She shared several orthodontists that she would recommend and I took time and care researching each one. I set up consultations and met with 3 of her recommendations. Dr. Brunson and his team stood out and I made my decision without hesitation. He sat with me and discussed not only the plan he had in mind but discussed my opinions, feedback, and concerns. I never once felt rushed or like he didn't have time for my (millions of) questions. I was devastated to find out about jaw surgery and a second round of braces. However, I was consistently reassured and felt supported by the team behind me. Dr. Kate (dentist), Dr. Brunson, and Dr. Casmedes (oral surgeon) work together like true professionals and are all knowledgeable about each of their clients. I honestly felt like I was their only case and had complete confidence that the decisions were made WITH me instead of FOR me. There were times that Dr. Brunson called me personally to make sure I was confident and motivated to move forward. I have high anxiety when it comes to medical procedures and as the date grew closer, I was given an incredible amount of time and attention to detail (much more than I ever expected). Post-op (and since my braces have been removed) there has been no change in the level of care and kindness from Dr. Brunson and his team. I will continue to see Dr. Brunson and his team for at least a year but my braces are off and my surgery is over! I have had only 2 headaches in (almost) 8 months, no more cracked teeth, significantly less grinding and pressure, and my tongue thrust is being managed. A life changing year that I feel has certainly improved my quality of life. ***I also need to give a huge shout out to Terri. I would strongly recommend asking for her to be a part of your journey if you have a similar expected path. She was calm, focused, thoughtful, and experienced when I was an anxious mess. She was clearly a leader in the room and made sure that I was involved in every part of my care. Thank you Dr. Brunson. Thank you Terri. Thank you Smiles team. Thank you Dr. Casmedes. Thank you Dr. Kate. I can't express how grateful I am to have chosen all of you for this experience. Makenna

I cannot miss the opportunity to publicly praise and thank Smiles of Austin for being a team doing it exactly right. The way they treated and cared for my two young kids went above and beyond- from appointment scheduling to the actual visit. My kids left laughing and smiling, not crying and begging to never go back. Tara and Dr. Brunson - thank you for going the extra mile for your patients!

I've had my braces managed here, and I must say it's a cool place. Dr B and Erika took my braces off, and did a great job.

I feel the same as the last client that left a review and can not recommend Smiles of Austin for Invisalign either. This is the only time I've left a negative review online but after the amount of money I've spent and my experience I'd like to help someone else from making the same mistake. I'm so disappointed in the level of care, communication, and difficulty scheduling. It's what I would imagine from a corporate chain, not a family practice. I love my dentist and he refers patients to Smiles so I didn't look into going anywhere else, I really wish I had.

We have been so pleased with Dr Lindsey, Tara, Erika, and the rest of the team at Smiles of Austin! Dr Lindsey did what I thought wasn't possible with my teeth after already being in braces twice before. And the entire team has been so sweet and helpful with my 10 year old and her mouth. Definitely not convenient for us, but worth the 30-40 minute drive!

Dr. Matson is a wonderful dentist and great with kids -- my kids actually look forward to their dentist visits. The office is well-designed from the waiting area to the exam rooms and everyone that works there is very friendly.

We started going to smiles of Austin 3 years ago as a recommendation. At first they were great. We also switched insurances and they were not in our group so it cost more out of pocket. Despite this we wanted to maintain consistency and continued to visit. As we continued to visit there began to be a little passive aggressiveness if our daughters teeth weren't as clean as they would like. Phrases like, "you're going to need to remind mom and dad that this is important". Today we couldn't make our appointment and the rudness that the front desk staff displayed to my wife was the last straw. I understand the world we live in has changed, but I'm tired of being treated as if I'm lucky to have service with Smiles of Austin.
