Dr. Luke found his way to pediatric dentistry after working as a middle school football coach. He is passionate about giving back to the Chippewa Valley community and enjoys helping each patient feel comfortable.

I grew up in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and completed my undergraduate and dental degrees at the University of Iowa. I met my husband, an emergency medicine physician, while in dental school. We moved to Saint Paul for my husbands medical residency, where I started my career practicing general dentistry. My time spent working at a Twin Cities public health clinic helped me realize my passion for working with kids, leading me to pursue my specialty certificate from the University of Minnesota.

The assistant/hygienist and provider were both excellent. Our two year old loved the visit, felt comfortable, and was much smoother than I had anticipated a 2yo dentist visit would be!

The staff were awesome! My toddler cried (simply because she's a toddler) but the staff handled it so well, were so kind to me as a new mom, and made our experience as easy as possible! The slide in the lobby was a huge hit after our appointment. The information given was also extremely helpful... I now know when to expect certain baby teeth to come in!

This was my 14 month olds first appointment. She did so well and I believe it's because of the staff and fun things to play on that made her enjoy her first and many more to come dental appointments.

I just want to say what a great experience we had here. From the second we walked in the door everyone there was so nice and friendly. My daughter was fairly scared going into the appointment, but the staff did an amazing job at putting her at ease. Both the techs and the doctor were also very informative. I couldn't believe it when my daughter stated "that wasn't bad at all" with a big smile on her face as we walked out the door! Very happy we chose to go here for my child's dental care.

Our daughter unfortunately needed a molar crowned and some cavities filled. She has always been anxious about provider visits but the care she received at Smiles in Motion was fantastic and made the process easy for everyone. Previously we had been treating at another ped dentist and had a pretty poor experience after telling them beforehand she had a lot of anxiety about the visit and how do we prepare. We were told 'to let the hygienist do their magic' and that it would be fine. Day of, she was a mess, clinging to my legs like a baby koala and their suggestion was to hold her down for a cleaning! Yes, let's further traumatize a 4yr old already freaking out . Needless to say, we left without a cleaning. A few months later we moved and saw a new dentist who referred us to Smiles in Motion for the work she required. Everything was a total 180 from what we experienced prior. The Hudson office has a playground in the waiting room which immediate lightens the mood. From the front desk girl, XR tech, hygienist, anesthesiologist, and provider - EVERYONE was kind and put our daughter, any myself, at ease. After her exam we were told what to expect for the treatment plan and most of all, how to prepare for our next visit. We spent weeks getting excited about her 'princess tooth, snuggle blanket and space mask'. Leading up to her appointment she kept asking us 'how many more sleeps?' and day of, was excited to go. She was a STAR patient and did so so well all because of the wonderful prep we were provided, the environment, and wonderful care she received from everyone at Smiles in Motion. 10/10 recommend for any littles needing dental care!

I cannot say enough about our experience with Smiles in Motion! Our two very young children were very nervous to go to the "tooth doctor" but as soon as we they walked in they forgot all about their worries! The staff was polite, knowledgeable and answered all of the questions asked! The kids can't wait to come back for there appitment!

I brought my 1-1/2yr old daughter to her first dental appointment at Smiles in Motion in Hudson. The entire staff from check in to end was AMAZING! The whole environment of the dental clinic was so child friendly with an indoor playground and things to play with in the exam room. When it came time to check my daughter teeth they did amazing and had her excited to lay still and clean her teeth. Definitely wouldn't choose any another Pediatric dental clinic to care for my children's dental needs!! Thank You Smiles In Motion

I was apprehensive on how well taking my 18month old to the dentist would go... I was so pleasantly surprised at how well catered they were to my son and his needs. Their team was kind and educational and made sure that my son and I both were at ease. I left feeling empowered to make sure my sons teeth are well taken care of.

Great experience! The team does a really good job at making sure the kids are comfortable before doing anything. Fun little prizes for afterwards. The waiting room is fun and very inviting for kids. 10 out of 10. Will recommend Smiles in Motion to friends and family with kiddos.

We were recommended to come here for our five year old. The building is every child's dream with a playground and lots of things to do while they wait. The staff was great to her and to my wife as she was walked through all what would happen and what did happen. I'd highly recommend!

My seven year old daughter is a new patient at Smiles In Motion in Hudson, WI. The staff are all very friendly and professional. My wife and I are both thoroughly impressed with how welcoming the office is and how Dr. Welborne and staff check in regularly throughout the procedure to provide updates. Amazing experience! My daughter has never been more at ease with trips to the dentist!
