Dr. Sukhjit Kaur is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and has been practicing pediatric dentistry for several years. Working primarily with children, Dr. Kaur is renowned for her caring compassionate nature and combined with her education and experience, she provides personalized dental care to address each childs unique and individual needs.
Dr. Kaur is a graduate of the New York University College of Dentistry. She continued her education by completing a General Practice Residency at Staten Island University Hospital, in New York, where she was trained to work with both medically compromised children and adults in a clinical and a hospital setting. Her desire and interest to continue to work with children lead her to specialize in Pediatric Dentistry. As such, in 2006, she completed her specialty training at Staten Island University Hospital, during which she was awarded a specialty certificate in Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Kaur was also awarded the resident of the year award, one of the most prestigious awards given at the Hospital for her outstanding leadership qualities, research in emergency dental trauma, patient care, and a desire for professional distinguishment.
While maintaining a private practice, Dr. Kaur continued at Staten Island University Hospital as an attending clinical professor. She taught pediatric dental residents didactic and clinical skills, as well as course work in the creation and maintenance of private practice.
In addition to her education, to further assist patients in all walks of life in oral health care, Dr. Kaur established a Head Start Dental Home program with the South Jersey school system. As both part of the board and a team leader, part of her responsibilities were to collaborate with other members of the professional health community, in the development and implementation of this program. She gave numerous presentations to both children and parents alike; and as a result, received numerous accolades, including the Sun Catcher award from South Jersey Hospital for establishing and implementing complete oral rehabilitation program for pediatric and medically compromised patients.
Dr. Kaurs education and experience have led her overseas; namely to Bangladesh where she went on an oral health care mission with non profit organization called Smile Train, in order to care for patients with facial deformities and oral pathology.
Dr. Kaur brings to her current pediatric practice, Smiles for Life Pediatric Dentistry, Western Springs, Illinois, the accumulation of her aforementioned professional wealth of experience and knowledge. Dr. Kaurs mission is to educate both parents and children about preventive dental care. She stays up-to-date on the latest advances in dentistry by attending continued education classes and by being on medical staff at both Adventist Hinsdale Hospital and Adventist La Grange Hospital. She also holds distinguished membership in the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, Illinois Society of Pediatric Dentists, Chicago Dental Society and Healthy Smiles and Healthy Children.
Furthermore, as a mother herself, Dr. Kaur recognizes that each child has different needs, and she prides herself in providing the highest quality of dental health care while doing it in a fun and loving environment.

If every doctors office was like this one, the world would be a happier place! My kids absolutely love going to the dentist because of all the kindness and love they receive here. My 4 year old asks me to go to the dentist every week (Atleast) and tells me she wants to be a dentist now. It's very apparent the doctors and staff love children and what they do. Dr. Kaur had big project in my sons mouth and she eased my anxieties and made sure he was taken care of like her own child. I can not recommend them enough! Thank you to the entire staff for creating such a pleasant atmosphere!

Dr. Kaur has been amazing and her staff is wonderful too! They are so good with children and made my daughter feel very comfortable. The office is very welcoming and very clean. My daughter had to have extensive work done after getting breastfeeding cavities. I didn't even know it was such a thing until it was too late and Dr. Kaur made me feel better about the whole situation. She had to have "special teeth," as my daughter calls them for her front upper teeth. Dr. Kaur did a beautiful job with shape and color trying to replicate how her original teeth looked. We have also seen her for regular check-ups and she has put my daughter at ease and has made the experience very pleasant. I would recommend her to friends, family and anyone who is looking for a great pediatric dentistry practice!

Both the dentists and dental hygienists clearly have a passion for working with children. You can tell that this is more than just a job for them. My little brother always has a positive experience here and has yet to have a negative experience.

The dentist made shameful and unprofessional comments about my son while he was sitting in her chair. He is 7. He was scarred and said he never wanted to go back. I called the office to try to talk about it and cancel future appointments. There was no apology or acknowledgment of any wrongdoing. The goal should be to educate and motivate kids to take care of their teeth, not make them feel like garbage if they have issues.

The staff at the Smiles for Life Pediatric Dentistry are so professional and polite. I felt very comfortable. The explained and answered all my questions I am SO glad I found them I would highly recommend them for all of your dental care!

I LOVE IT HERE!!!!! Everyone is so unbelievably nice, professional and do amazing work. They're all WONDERFUL with children and great to talk to. Lots of flavor options for kids, cute tools, clean office. They unfortunately don't take my insurance BUT I will continue to pay to take my son there. We love the team so much! Thank you!!

Dr. Kaur and her staff are amazing! It is obvious from scheduling the appointment for my daughter's to their entire appointment that they care. They made my 7 and 11 year old girls so comfortable. My daughter's were so worrid about the appointment but by the time we had to leave they didn't want to go. Now they can't wait to go back! I highly recommend Dr. Kaur! Amazing experience!!

I have been going here basically my whole life and have never had a bad experience! All of the staff are very educated and polite, and Dr. Kaur is the best. They have taught me how to properly brush my teeth and how to take care of them. I always get compliments on my teeth and it's because of them! I would definitely recommend.

I truly cannot say enough good things about Smiles for Life. My children have been seeing Dr. Kaur since they were toddlers and we have had only good experiences. In fact, we have recommended her practice to many friends. Dr. Kaur is patient, kind, and knowledgeable. Recently, my daughter had a traumatic injury to her front teeth and Dr. Kaur and her staff were responsive and supportive during the visit. My daughter was relaxed and calm knowing, after many years, that she was in good hands. I also love how easy they are to communicate with. After my daughter's injury, I was able to email photographs ahead of time, so Dr. Kaur could assess the injury and prepare us for the possible outcomes before we even set foot in the office which was very helpful! Rebecca who covers the front desk has been a part of Smiles for Life as long as we have been going there. She is helpful, kind and efficient. She seems to keep everything running smoothly. The new bright and clean office space in Western Springs is a convenient location and right across from a great park perfect for some playtime after the kids' visits!

100% recommend. Will not take my boys anywhere else. We have been with Dr. Kaur for about 6 years and my kids love her and staff. We have moved and will continue to make the drive out to stay with this practice. Dr. Kaur has made both my kids comfortable each and every time we step into the office. We have had nothing but wonderful experiences for years. If you are looking for friendly, clean and painless pediatric dental care this is the place to go!

Best pediatrician dentist around town. We have been going to Dr. Kaur for a few years now and my kids love to go. Dr. Kaur and staff are very friendly, personable and helpful. Everyone who works there is so nice. They take their time to reassure my kids when they are afraid. My oldest (age 7) needed dental surgery. Dr Kaur was there the whole time with him. She came and updated me when he was all done. He was back to normal that same day. I am happy to see my kids excited to go to the dentist, and not afraid. Definitely worth the 40 minute drive.
